The standard of care is quite exceptional. I have recently had to (regretfully) visit frequently as my friend's dementia progresses.
The carers are positive and always soft-spoken and friendly. They will try and bring out a smile from the resident even on the worst of days.
When I chat with my friend
about her day, she often doesn't always remember how she spends her day but always remembers having enjoyed her time.
The building is spacious, immaculate and inviting.

The care assistants were very accommodating to my husband's needs. The food was fantastic however, I was very disappointed in the lead nurses diagnosis that my husband would never return home and I should start to carve a life for myself! The manager was very kind and in the future, I am going to volunteer.
The whole experience was fine just not the right place for my husband, not the home's fault.

I would just like to thank all the staff at The Grange Care Centre on behalf of Grandad who spent nearly three months in the home. He was so well looked after by all the staff. It was quite emotional when he left the home on his last day on the to move to his permanent residence. Every time we left
after visiting we could always relax at home knowing that my Grandad was in very safe and capable hands and would be well looked after. Please pass on our thanks and appreciation to all the staff who my father and myself could rely on 100%. Thank you so much. Thank you all from our family.

We have found The Grange to be an outstanding care home. The staff are without exception, kind, caring, thoughtful and understanding. They cope wonderfully with amazing patience and tolerance despite the challenges they face with dementia.
The home provides a range of environments and activities for
residents. They make use of their magnificent grounds for parties and utilize any opportunity to stimulate residents. I love their new parrot too!
The atmosphere is more friendly and warm than many other care homes we visited.
We are so relieved and thankful for the care and have no hesitation in recommending The Grange to anyone who asks.
Many, many thanks to those that have contributed.

My mum went to live at The Grange Care Centre just 8 weeks ago. I can honestly say that care, love and trust they have shown my old mum is a million percent. I wished so very hard that she could have been living here all the time she's has to stay in a care home. My mum was in a terrible place and when
she moved into The Grange, they brought life back into my mum's soul. She talks, sings, smiles and looks at least 2 years younger, in just 8 weeks. I will be grateful for life to all staff members at The Grange for giving my mum back to me.
Love, care, respect, kindness, time, that's what they give.

This was my first experience of a care home and from day 1 I was completely satisfied. The staff went above and beyond to help my Cousin settle in and not once did we have any reason to doubt that she was extremely happy there. Despite the loss of most of her speech following a stroke she managed to
communicate with the staff and other residents and loved to join the singing group, the birthday celebrations and other events organised by staff. Management were wonderful and were always forthcoming about her condition throughout her 14 month stay.

In my opinion, this is an extremely well-run care home. Management is dedicated, totally involved and easy to approach. Staff are friendly and caring. We do feel mum is well looked after and cared for. Meals are very good and rooms are spacious, private and clean as is her bedding. We are happy to recommend
this care home to friends.

I've just been with my Fiancee to visit and introduce myself to her Granny residing here. In comparison to a different Care Home I used to visit back in the days I was expecting grumpy residents living in an aged and smelly environment. I was pleasantly surprised to find the complete opposite. We stayed
and chatted for the better part of two hours and all had a lovely time. Overall, I left feeling inspired and impressed. Will certainly be visiting again soon.

My stepmother suffering from advanced Alzheimer's was placed in The Grange Care Centre once it became apparent that providing care within her own home was no longer a viable option. From the very beginning, staff showed compassion and understanding of her situation. They encouraged her to eat and take
interest in her surroundings which she had previously not done.

Her room with its en-suite facilities was always in immaculate condition and her own pictures and memorabilia were prominently displayed. Great care was taken to keep her clean and well dressed in her own clothes. Staff seemed to have a good understanding of her needs and medical condition. There was a welcoming atmosphere whenever we visited. As her condition deteriorated, we were kept well informed and she was treated with kindness and dignity during her end of life care plan.

My Mum regards The Grange as 'home'. Although her ability to express herself is now limited, she describes the carers as 'family'. She is very content and appreciates the way the activities coordinators chat with her and read her favourite poetry to her. I see that she is treated with love and respect
for her individually. It is such a relief for me to know that she is safe, well looked after and encouraged to mobilise and socialise. The manager has an excellent team of staff and is always happy to discuss mum's needs or take on any suggestions; she is personally interested in all the residents and their relatives.

I wanted to write a review as a way of thanks to The Grange, for looking after my Uncle. I especially want to commend the way they looked after him, in the weeks leading to his recent death. Staff went above and beyond to ensure his wife could be by his side in the last days of his life. They were careful
to be sensitive to her loss and made my Uncle's last few days as comfortable a possible.
We were both touched by their kindness, and will be forever thankful.

Very happy with all the care Mum is receiving. Mum's room is very comfortable.

The home generally is very clean. Staff are fantastic with my mother, very polite. Have noticed they have lots of care for all services users.

I never visit at meal times so can't give my opinion about the food, however,

Mum very often compliments her dinner.

It is a lovely and caring environment.

My friend spent her last year at The Grange where she was looked after very well and once settled, she was happy and content. It has a lovely calm and friendly atmosphere and I was always offered a cup of tea whenever visiting. What really impressed me was the patience, love and empathy that the young
carers (some foreign) had for the residents.

My sister is extremely happy and feels very comfortable at The Grange.
The home has many unique qualities it can pride itself with. If I was to pinpoint the area that in my opinion shines brightest of all, it is the limitless warmth, care, dignity and devotion that this fantastic team offer its residents.

I think its fair to say they treat my sister as if she were their own!!

My mother spent 2 years and 3 months at The Grange. During that time she was well cared for and treated with great dignity. The last year of her life was extremely difficult but I always felt she was safe and in good hands. Her death was not easy, but their love and support to myself and my mother was
wonderful. The team on duty on the day of her death could not have done more. There are always things that could be improved - food, more 1 to 1 activities, but the care could not be better.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.157)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.157) out of 10 for Lilleybrook Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.731 for Lilleybrook Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (79 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.731
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.426 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lilleybrook Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.4 = 0.726
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
