Mum has been at Acre Court for approx. 8 weeks and is now there on a permanent basis. The care mum receives is second to none. All the staff I have dealt with show great care and compassion to their residents. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and I feel I can talk to them all. The care home is clean
and tidy, and they offer a wide selection of food and snacks.

Evergreen Manor

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
My father was fast tracked to Evergreen Manor in April 2024. Our family repeatedly raised serious concerns about his care, including failures to monitor his health, poor communication, lack of hydration support, delayed medical attention, and unprofessional behaviour from some staff members. We also
witnessed distressing comments and behaviour towards vulnerable residents, which we reported, but felt our concerns were not properly addressed. Some carers were kind and compassionate, however the overall experience left our family deeply upset and disappointed. I visited my father almost every day for 18 months and witnessed ongoing issues that could not be identified during a short inspection from CQC recently. Staff are naturally likely to be on their best behaviour when they know the CQC are attending and be advised that some social media reviews have been written by staff.
Reply from Jennifer Evans, Registered Manager at Evergreen ManorWe recognise that you raised several concerns over an extended period and these were taken seriously and thoroughly reviewed. Throughout this process, we fully cooperated with the relevant professionals and regulatory bodies involved.
While we appreciate that your views remain unchanged, the concerns raised were subject to extensive review and no evidence was found to substantiate the allegations regarding the care provided.
As a care provider, we are unable to discuss individual residents in a public forum. However, we are proud of the dedication and professionalism of our team, who work hard every day to provide safe, compassionate and dignified care.
Independent inspections are conducted using established evidence-based assessments. While families may have their own perspectives, it is important that conclusions are based on evidence.
We remain committed to listening to feedback and maintaining the high standards of care expected by our residents and their families.

My Mother was a resident of Oldbury care home after a short time spent in Hospital. She was approaching the end of life and needed all her needs cared for, which was not always easy as she wasn't always compliant. The staff managed with her with patience and made her stay comfortable. We were able
to visit whenever we wished to for as long as we wished. Mum passed away a few days after her 90th Birthday. All the staff were helpful and caring. We feel she received the best care as she approached her final days.
Reply from Danielle Bentley, Care home manager at Oldbury House Care Homethank you for your review and kind words me and the team at Oldbury house are thankful you have taken the time to review our home and team and we are pleased that you and your family where happy with the care mum received whilst she lived with us albeit for a short time.

Mum was well looked after by the very caring and kind staff at the nursing home when she went in for respite care. She was pleased with her clean spacious room with its tv. She was able to take some photos from home which staff hung on the wall for her. She was treated with dignity and respect. Would
recommend.

Since my mum moved to Oldbury House following her stroke and diagnosis of global aphasia, we have felt very reassured by the care and support she receives. She had previously been in another care home where we experienced concerns around safe keeping, so finding somewhere we can truly trust has meant
a great deal to our family.

Mum has been at Oldbury House for around six weeks now, and throughout that time the staff have consistently been kind, friendly and caring. Her room is always clean and tidy, and most importantly, she is very well looked after.

The manager has been especially helpful, understanding and approachable, always taking the time to listen and support us. We genuinely feel that the team understands my mum's individual needs and treats her with dignity and compassion.

We are very grateful for the care she is receiving and would happily recommend this home to other families.

Reply from Danielle Bentley, Care home manager at Oldbury House Care HomeDear Susan Thank you so much for your kind positive review of Oldbury house and our team. My late mum was a resident at lillybrook for nearly 8 years. The care she received was exceptional. My mum was treated with the upmost dignity all her care needs were met with the highest standards, even when thwy were busy. From the manager Kim, to the nurses Sam and Jo, carers, housekeepers and catering
they all played a massive and important role in caring for my mum.
They became like family and right up to my mum passing away they showed compassion, empathy and support.

My mum has been with the home for respite care for about a month. The staff and manager were extremely welcoming on our arrival and have really worked hard to help mum settle into her new surroundings. As a patient with dementia, the care staff have shown care and compassion to both my mum as the resident
as well as my Dad as they adjust to mum staying at the care home.

My Nan has been a resident here for nearly two years now, and we honestly couldn't be happier with the care she receives. She is very happy and content, which means everything to our family.
The staff are incredibly person-centred and always promote Nan's independence, supporting her in a way that
maintains her dignity and individuality. It's clear they genuinely care about the residents and take the time to understand them as people.
The activities team are absolutely amazing - there is always something going on to keep residents engaged and entertained. They regularly organise musicians to come in and sing, which Nan especially enjoys. It's wonderful to see so much effort put into creating a lively and positive atmosphere.
The new manager, Danielle, has also made a fantastic impression. She is polite, informative, and friendly, and she takes the time to speak to Nan and other residents whenever she is passing. That personal touch really makes a difference.
10/10

From the moment moved in to Oldbury House I felt an instant relief with the level of care and compassion the team showed her. Mum was/still is unable to speak clearly but the staff are so kind and patient and with time they have grown with her and are able to understand mum.
The team work relentlessly
hard. They are passionate and it is obvious to see they truely care about the residents. It's is like an extended family. When we visit it feels like a home. The team have become our friends.
In addition to daily care and needs of the residents the team go over & beyond to help vary everyone's day with various entertainment, theropy dogs etc lead by Sarah and Julie. They work so hard to keep everyone stimulated with the added touch of their nuttiness This is extended the residents that are bed bound so no one is left out.
The kitchen staff are also amazing and can accommodate any specify needs if required.
Overall I am very happy in the knowledge that my mum is safe and happy

My father was moved to Oldbury House at the beginning of January after a long stay in hospital. From the moment he arrived he has received excellent care from staff who are compassionate and thoughtful, and take the time to consider the individual needs of the resident. This understanding has led to
my father settling in incredibly quickly and he himself has commented that he is well and enjoys the food. That said, it is apparent that the home would benefit from some investment to improve some of the facilities.

The activities that the home arranges have been fabulous, and I have seen how well the residents respond, and that is down to the enthusiasm and understanding that the staff have with their residents. This goes across all staff groups as well and I have been so pleased with how welcoming and accommodating they all are. This has been the best move I could have asked for and that is down to the management of the home and the staff who personalise care and are all first rate.

Staff have all taken their time to get to know Nan and the family as visitors, they are aware of her likes and dislikes and show genuine interest in her. There is a clear improvement in her since being there. They are quick to respond to any health/medical concerns and I am confident they advocate for
her needs as we would. It would be nice to see variation in activities and use of the building outside of just the lounge. It is also reassuring to know that the manager also knows nan and her needs and wishes.

My wife was very ill for 12 years and I cared for her all those years, however late last year the Health Authority said unfortunately it was to difficult to carry on looking after my wife, so the decision was made for her to be placed into Evergreen Manor, I was very reluctant on the decision, so one
week before she was due to go in I visited Evergreen Manor, within 15 minutes of entering it I was very comfortable on what I was seeing, so I agreed.
Unfortunately my wife was only there for 3 weeks & one day before she passed away, I must pass one how good all the staff where while she was in Evergreen.
Efficient, Polite, Hard Working, always with a smile and very professional, there is nothing I can complain about.

The on site leadership by the managers again was first class, this is a very good Care Home and I hope you will continue to look after the management and all of the staff.

Before choosing Evergreen, we viewed numerous other homes, but the moment we walked in we immediately felt a welcoming and caring atmosphere. One thing that really stood out to us was being told we could visit Mum at any time day or night, which gave us great reassurance.

Mum was a resident for 18

months, and throughout her time there the staff consistently went above and beyond with the care, kindness, and respect they showed her. Nothing was ever too much trouble. There were always plenty of food choices, and a comforting cup of tea was never far away.

Every time we visited, Mum was clean, comfortable, and well cared for, with fresh clothes and clean bed linen. This high standard never changed, even when she became unable to care for herself. The team at evergreen gave my mum the best care and quality of life any family could hope for. We would not gesture to recommend.
Many thanks
