My father has been living at Oldbury House for nearly a year, and he's extremely happy. It was the best thing we did is bring him here. He loves it and so does his extended family. Thank you so much to the staff and assistants.

Myself and my husband returned from holiday on 29th June 2025 to find an ambulance outside the carehome . Not thinking it could be anything to do with my mum . On entering the final door on mums floor we noticed a lot going on and a carer rushing around. when she saw us I could see panic in her eyes
she turned back around and headed back towards my mums room. we went through with her into my mums room after Sam the nurse said let them in , we went in and my mum was not in a good way. a paramedic was there with the nurse and a carer . they were amazing keeping us calm and doing what they had to do. they rang and a 1st response came, the nurse was going over and above doing her job with what she had to do as well as looking after us . then another ambulance came , did what they had to do and took her to hospital where they looked after her x but I can not say how impressed I was with the nurse and the carer they were amazing and so professional . we could not ask for better care for my mum

My father moved into the home for respite initially and this has now become his new home.
His dementia ment the move was quite difficult for him but the care and support of the management and carers helped dad and us through this transition period
Dad is now settled on Victoria where all residents
appear happy.
The entertainment ladies do a fantastic job considering the area they have to cover.
Care staff are hard working but at times seem over stretched.
If I had to be negative about anything it would be that the diet for diabetics maybe needs to be monitored a bit more closely.

Since our mother moved into Oldbury House, during the COVID period, we have found communications to be good and staff very welcoming. Our mother is content, is well cared for and her needs know. Our mother used to have a dog, staff love dogs, and when we asked if we could bring our dogs in to see her,
this was not a problem to see her. When we have had a concern, we were confident in raising it with the appropriate staff, were listened to and were reassured or had the concern acted upon to a successful outcome. We are, therefore, happy to recommend Oldbury House.

My mother stayed at Oldbury for two-plus years. The care from the staff went above and beyond duty. The home is full of loving staff and is kept clean and tidy. The family was always kept informed of the activities that was put in place for the residents. So we could join in with them. Seasonal fun
and games days out always fun.

My dad spent about 6 weeks at Oldbury House arriving with a healed ulcer, able to walk with assistance and suffering bouts of confusion. At discharge he was tearful, begging to come home, more confused, unable to stand or walk and the ulcer reopened. His belongings were damaged by other residents. Labelled
clothing and personal effects were lost. Dad was frequently dressed in ill-fitting clothing that did not belong to him. Staff communication was poor and impossible to contact by phone or even open the door. He was discharged without medication or catheter bags despite the home having his supplies.
Staffing levels were poor given resident acuity thus Dad was left unoccupied for long periods in a cold bedroom. He was not offered any meaningful activity or help mobilising beyond basic hygiene care.
Positives - food and cleanliness plus some lovely staff. Very disturbed residents were managed reasonably. Otherwise little to recommend especially for anyone with primarily physical needs.

My 98-year-old mum has been a resident of the Lilleybrook for 6 years. Over the years we have seen many changes in staff and management. We can honestly say that the current Manager has improved the care home greatly. Any problems and queries are addressed immediately and taken care of. The carers are
wonderful and genuinely care for and about the residents. The nurses are involved, sincere, and on hand at any time. Leisure activities have improved with the current co-ordinators who are brilliant in engaging residents daily in some activity to enhance their otherwise lonely days.
We need to mention the kitchen, cleaning staff and maintenance staff who together help to ensure the facilities are of a very good standard.
We know Mum is happy here and the lovely staff and management have made her feel she is part of a big family, which is comforting for us. We enjoy visiting and are welcome any time of day or night.

Lilleybrook Care Home provided excellent care to our Dad/Bamp throughout his time there. They treated him with such dignity, respect and compassion and made him comfortable in his last few days. The staff are such a credit, showing empathy and care to the family too. Special thanks to one staff member
in particular who went above and beyond. We can't thank the home enough for the care provided and would highly recommend (especially after experiences at other local care homes).

Mother has been in residential care for several years, she has good care, all the staff are kind and very caring. The nursing staff are excellent, they make contact at all times, when needed to update the family. There are very good activities, which my mum enjoys. As a family we are hugely grateful
to all the staff at Lilleybrook, we feel our mother is in safe hands and being well cared for.

Since Mum has lived at Lilleybrook I have seen how relaxed and happy she has become. Her room is decorated with her own things and has a calm welcoming feel. The staff are fantastic. The manager has made Lilleybrook a good place to be and created a warm and welcoming environment. The activities coordinator
is miraculous at engaging with and supporting residents. The nurses and all staff are warm-hearted and friendly. The lounge is a pleasant place to be. I'm relieved that Mum has found somewhere that has welcomed her and where she can feel part of a community.

My nan was a resident in the Adelaide unit for about 8 months after a very awful experience in another care home. We were so happy to have found a lovely caring home for Nan, she was so happy requesting endless cups of tea, staff dancing in her room to her record player and making her laugh and of course
her knitting they would help untangle on many occasions. She enjoyed the outside entertainment she loved a good old singsong. The home couldn’t do enough for her and us as a family. To the manager, we can’t thank you enough for the quick turnaround and for getting Nan into Oldbury House. Nan spent the last few months of her life truly happy and treated like a queen.

My mum's residency at Oldbury House Care Home began in November, 2023. She has dementia and is unable to walk, feed herself, clean herself or tend to herself. When we arrived on the day she was admitted the staff welcomed us in to her room and set about from the very start making her comfortable and
welcome. Did we want a drink and food? Does Mum want a TV in her room? They could not do enough for her. This treatment continued over all the time she was there (5 months). Carers were diligent, considerate and engaging with Mum. Her room was lovely, ensuite, with storage for clothes and everything else she had. Medications were administered correctly and the staff were patient with her. Good food, regular drinks and friendly staff. At Christmas the staff went the extra mile by putting all the tables together in the main room and inviting residents family and friends to pop by and join them for their Christmas dinner. It was a lovely Christmas day.

I have nothing but praise for the caring staff and manager at Lilleybrook Care Home. Everyone was understanding of her needs always positive but real in the circumstances and took time to spend with my aunt in spite of busy schedules. The staff were amazing and are caring heroes for the difficult job
they do.

The latest care home manager is working hard to improve things at this home which has been less than satisfactory since my mother-in-law entered the home in February 2020. Most of the regular long-term staff are very good but retaining staff seems to be an issue and there is heavy reliance on agency
staff who are unfamiliar with the home and the residents. There have been a number of issues which when brought to the attention of the new manager have been addressed. However, the cleanliness of rooms remains an issue.

We can’t thank the staff enough for the level of care, compassion and attention to detail they showed in looking after my mother following her stroke. The team were fantastic in going above and beyond to help my mother (and us as a family) through a very difficult situation, from the individual, respectful
and compassionate relationship every member of the care staff built with my mum to the fantastic efforts of the nursing team and the attention to detail by the manager - we feel so grateful to everyone. They made her and us feel welcome and supported her and us through every stage of the journey of getting her ready to move back to a home of her own. Thank you again!
