Registered for 30 residents and currently operating with 25 bedrooms, we pride ourselves on delivering personalised care and building strong relationships with residents, families and healthcare professionals. About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Home Manager (nurse qualified) to lead our nursing home and continue driving excellence in resident care, team development, regulatory compliance and operational performance.

As Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home and will act as the Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). You will work closely with the Clinical Lead Nurse/Deputy Manager and ownership team to ensure the home operates safely, effectively and in line with all regulatory requirements.

Success in this role will be demonstrated through high-quality resident care, a motivated and supported workforce, strong occupancy levels, positive relationships with stakeholders and excellent regulatory outcomes.

Reports to: Directors

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the home's nursing, care and support teams, promoting a culture of kindness, dignity and person-centred care.
  • Ensure the home maintains high standards of nursing, residential and dementia care and remains fully compliant with CQC regulations and quality standards.
  • Lead quality assurance, clinical governance, safeguarding and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recruit, support, develop and motivate staff through effective supervision, appraisal and performance management.
  • Maintain strong occupancy levels through effective admissions management and relationship building with residents, families, healthcare professionals and local stakeholders.
  • Manage resources and budgets responsibly to support the efficient operation of the home.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals, commissioners and regulatory bodies.
  • Support the ongoing development and reputation of the service within the local community.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with active NMC registration.
  • Significant experience within a nursing home, elderly care or dementia care setting.
  • Previous experience as a Home Manager, Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or Clinical Lead.
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding and clinical governance.
  • Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage quality, compliance and operational performance effectively.

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (NVQ Level 5).
  • Experience managing nursing and dementia services.
  • Experience achieving Good or Outstanding CQC ratings.
  • Budget management experience.

Working Week

  • Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm with a one-hour lunch break.

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and evidence of the right to work in the UK.
