About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiasticGardener's Assistant to join the team at Runwood Homes. Working alongside our gardening and maintenance teams, you will help maintain the appearance, safety and presentation of our care homes' gardens and outdoor spaces, ensuring they remain welcoming and enjoyable for residents, visitors and staff.

Your duties will include assisting with the upkeep of lawns, hedges, flower beds and landscaped areas, supporting seasonal planting projects, and helping to maintain healthy plants and garden environments. You will also assist with greenhouse maintenance, pruning, watering, fruit picking and general garden upkeep. In addition, you will help maintain gardening tools and equipment, complete routine garden checks and keep outdoor storage areas clean and organised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining lawns, hedges, flower beds and landscaped areas
  • Support daily, weekly and monthly garden maintenance tasks
  • Help with planting, watering, weeding and seasonal garden projects
  • Assist with propagation and plant care activities
  • Support the maintenance of greenhouses and outdoor growing areas
  • Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of gardening tools and equipment
  • Keep sheds, storage areas and garden workspaces tidy and organised
  • Complete garden checks and report any issues requiring attention
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work where required
  • Provide gardening support across additional care home sites when needed
