We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring the well-being of clients, and supporting their individual care plans. Duties

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Support clients with mobility and transfer activities, ensuring safety at all times
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
  • Monitor and record clients’ health conditions and report any changes to senior staff
  • Support clients in engaging with social activities and maintaining independence
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with care plans
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Assist with medication administration under supervision where appropriate
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all clients

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Valid driving licence is preferred to support mobility needs of clients
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail when following care plans
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if needed
