Job summary

We are looking for a dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic Cook to join our team at Coton House. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals and understands the important role good food plays in health and wellbeing.

Coton House is a welcoming 24-bed residential care home in Wolverhampton (WV4), providing specialist care and support for older adults and people living with dementia. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, homely environment where residents receive high-quality care and enjoy freshly prepared meals tailored to their individual needs and preferences.

Position Details:

  • Hours: 25 hours per week

  • Shift times: 07:00-13:45 and 15:30–17:30

  • Rate of pay: £13.00 per hour

  • Schedule: Rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays

  • Location: Wolverhampton, WV4

We are looking to speak with applicants that are passionate about cooking and providing a range of quality meals for the people who live within the care home. We will look to you to prepare and cook, hot and cold meals, taking into consideration dietary requirements and individual preferences.  

Further responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate records of food supplies and deliveries

  • Plan or contribute to menus with a focus on fresh ingredients and balanced nutrition

  • Stock rotation

  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned, well maintained, and stored appropriately

  • Ensure the cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas are carried out effectively

Required:

  • Food / Hygiene Certificate

  • Good communication skills

  • Team player

  • Ability to work on own initiative.
