Coton Grange

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum was placed at Coton Grange after a stay in hospital after a long lie fall and confusion. Since her arrival the staff have made her very welcome and are always actively interacting with the residents which is lovely to see. She loves taking part in the activities from gardening through to art
and seated exercise. Since she has been at Coton she is getting more mobile and is having less vacant moments. She is always nicely dressed and has had her hair done and chiropody is offered as an additional payment which is beneficial. The staff always keep us updated on how she is and have sat with us to discuss what she likes to do and what foods etc she prefers. It is comforting to see her old self returning and gives relatives reassurance that she is happy.
Reply from Victoria Catalano, Home Manager at Coton GrangeHi K L,
Thank you so much for the lovely review, we thrive on being able to create positive outcomes for our residents whether they are with us temporarily or permanently , your Mum has definitely made some friends here at Coton Grange not only with the residents but the staff !
I will pass on this feedback to the staff.
See you soon

My brother has been at St Nicholas House for a year, and he has always been well treated by an excellent staff. Whenever I visit, I am able to obtain a frank update of his condition and prospects from all the staff whether management or senior nurses for the more serious side, or from the office or
catering staff for more run of the mill information. Everybody is pleasant, smiling and helpful and treat all the customers with dignity and respect. In addition, if there is a problem I will be notified immediately. There is an excellent selection of activities offered to all those who can take park both in the home and outside.
Reply from Vasilica Iovu, Manager at St Nicholas House LtdThank you for your kind words and continued support. My brother has been in bearwood for 4 years. It has been a difficult time with him settling but the staff have worked around him and dealt with his needs as much as he allows them too. I was always told by the manager it could take him a long time to adjust and accept his situation that i am no longer
able to care for him and she was right. All staff have been so supportiuve to us both
Reply from Lincymol Thomas, Manager at Bearwood Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience.
We understand how difficult this transition has been for both you and your brother, and we are pleased to hear that you have felt supported throughout this journey. Supporting residents to settle in at their own pace is very important to us, and we are glad that our team has been able to work around your brothers individual needs with patience and understanding.
Your feedback means a great deal to all of the staff, and we truly appreciate the trust you have placed in us over the past four years.
Kind regards,

From the day that my dad arrived at Bearwood road Nursing home, we was made very welcome. Raj, the manager is lovely, friendly and explained everything & made us feel comfortable with our dad moving in. Reena , the receptionist is very welcoming as we come in to see dad, caring & lovely. All of dads
carers are really good, eveytime i ask them something for my dad, they are there. Natalie, the cleaning lady , takes time to speak with dad & keeps rooms very clean. Nurses are all amazing. Also, laundry woman. We never thought we'd see our dad in a Nursing home , I would like to thank everyone for making this comfortable for us all. Dads settled nicely xx Thank you ..highly recommend.
Reply from Lincymol Thomas, Manager at Bearwood Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback. It truly means a great deal to us.

We are so pleased to hear that you felt welcomed from the very beginning and that the transition for your dad has been a comfortable one. Moving into a nursing home can be a big step for families, and we are glad we could help make this process easier for you all.

I will be sure to share your lovely comments with Reena, Natalie, our nurses, carers, and the housekeeping and laundry teams. They all work very hard to provide a warm, caring, and supportive environment, and your feedback will mean so much to them.

Most importantly, we are delighted to hear that your dad has settled in well. Supporting both our residents and their families is at the heart of what we do.

Thank you again for your recommendation and for placing your trust in us.

From the moment we walked into Coton Grange Care Home, I knew it was a special place. The manager and her staff are always smiling, welcoming, and treat my husband with such warmth and respect. It is a huge relief to see him settled and happy, and well cared for. They go out of their way to make me

I travelled from Manchester to visit my father on 15th April 2026, I thought the care, attention and the interaction by the Staff with the residents is first class, the residents all look happy and content and well cared for. Since my father has been in the home having been discharged from hospital,
he looks a lot healthier, and is general wellbeing is far better, he seems happy and content, this is down to the caring nature of the staff.
I would definetely recommend the Coton Grange for any new residents.

I brought my brother from a nursing home in Manchester to kings Bromley nursing home a year ago.
The manager was extremely helpful and understanding during the transfer.
The home has good accomodation, good choice of food, and wonderful caring staff, and nurses. The were varied activities each day.
My brother passed away this week after a stroke. The care from the staff extended beyond my brother's needs to include the rest of his family. They made a sad and difficult situation endurable.
I have no hesitation in recommending this nursing home. It carries out a difficult role with professionalism and sympathy

My father has been at Kings Bromley Care Home for almost two years now. He initially had a trial at one of the top end care homes. The room at that other care home was bigger and had an ensuite shower room but he just did not take to that home. With Kings Bromley Care Home he has been very settled there

As a rapidly declining dementia sufferer it was decided Mum could no longer live independently at her home alone due to the round the clock safeguarding she needed. Pinxton Manor had a couple of spare rooms for us to view and choose for Mum which was really nice as it was important that Mum was in a
lovely, bright and sunny room with a view of the garden which is her happy place. Upon arrival Mum just wanted to go home instantly and didn't take her coat off for about 6hrs. It was the hardest thing for me to do and broke me doing it and I left thinking Mum would never settle. But due to the fabulous, understanding, caring and very patient staff, Mum began to settle so much quicker than we ever thought she would which gave us huge relief. Over the last 4 months, I've seen Mum smile, laugh and chat constantly, as I've never seen her before, thoroughly loves her meals and dances at every opportunity when music is on. The best move ever for Mum and I can't thank Pinxton Manor Staff enough

Choosing a care home for a loved one is one of the most difficult decisions a family can make, but our experience with Caldene Care Home has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment my aunt moved in, any anxieties we held were immediately replaced by a profound sense of relief and gratitude.
The
quality of care she receives is truly outstanding. It is clear that the staff do not view their roles as just a job; they treat the residents with a level of dignity and genuine affection that is heartwarming to witness. Whether it is ensuring her medical needs are met with precision or simply taking the time to sit and have a meaningful conversation with her, the team consistently goes above and beyond.
What impresses me most is the vibrant atmosphere and the dedication to resident well-being. The staff do an excellent job of fostering a community where my aunt feels seen and valued.

You hear so many scary stories about nursing homes and the staff and yes I was a bit worried for my dad and him being immobile and bad with Alzheimer's and vascular dementia
But wow this place has been brilliant every member of staff we have met or spoken to have been friendly helpful and caring yes
caring this home for me has changed my perception on nursing homes and yes I would recommend this place straight away there is one negative if there's no one on reception it can be a bugger getting entry and I suppose if I was cheeky I could ask for door code but hey I'm not and that's my only complaint
If your thinking of placing a loved one in a home this is the one I am and our family are really happy with this place sadly dads close to death so he hasn't really benefited from this place for lounge area or meeting the residents but this place and the staff deserve praise and they are a credit to the owners the rooms are a decent size and always hot with heating always on too Thanks all
Reply from Michelle Croft, Deputy Manager at Heeley Bank Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to the whole team to hear how much your dad has been cared for and how supported your family feels. We're truly sorry he hasn't been able to enjoy more of the home, but we're glad we've been able to make a difference during this time. We'll also pass on your feedback about reception access. Sending our best to you and your family, and thank you again for your lovely message.

My mom has been a resident at Coton Grange since November. My mom has advanced dementia with lots of ups & downs with her health of the past 3 months. I am very impressed with Coton grange & its staff. They are caring thoughtful & considerate to its residents & their family's. Special thank you to Nicola
& Letitia who are very professional but approachable & who try to bring a smile to you & the residents face. It's a very difficult & challenge choice to find the right care home for a parent but after viewing & researching many I feel confident I made the correct choice.

Pinxton Manor

My mum was a resident at Pinxton Manor for 4 and a half years. It was difficult for us in the beginning, coming to terms with someone else taking care of our lovely mum. But she settled well and the staff became her new best friends. During her stay she was well cared for and always seem happy and content
whenever we visited her. She loved a laugh and a cheeky joke and they all engaged with her during those times. She enjoyed the singing and music related activities and even when she could no longer fully participate there was always a lovely smile on her face. She was able to get her hair and nails done regularly which she loved. ALL of the staff are extremely welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. Sadly mum passed away here last month , the staff were so considerate and empathetic during a difficult week and we cant thank them enough. In fact as our dad now needs care also, we have decided that Pinxton Manor is the best place for him too. Its early days but he has settled well x
