Review of Coton House from Dawn W (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 July 2026 Submitted via Website

Mom was moved to the Coton house after a stay in hospital. After the initial period of respite care had lapsed we decided that, with her dementia she would benefit by remaining at the care home as a permanent resident. Mom seems to have settled and she has a group of friends. We know that she is safe and being well cared for and the staff seem to have endless patience. We have always been made to feel welcome when visiting, the staff are always busy but are approachable and will find time to talk to us. Wolverhampton council found Mom the place initially and we feel that we were really lucky. There was no question of moving her after the initial period had lapsed.

Overall Experience
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Coton House for around eight weeks now, and we have been very pleased with the care and support she has received.
The home is always clean, tidy and welcoming. We particularly appreciate having different sitting rooms available, allowing residents to choose where they feel most comfortable throughout the day.
The staff are always friendly, welcoming and approachable. Any concerns we have raised have been addressed quickly, and we always feel listened to.
It has been wonderful to see my mother-in-law taking part in different activities and engaging far more than she did at home. Seeing this positive change has been lovely for both her and the family.

Knowing she is safe, comfortable and well cared for gives us great peace of mind. We would happily recommend Coton House to other families looking for care for a loved one.

I was initially unsure about my mum moving into a care home, as it is never an easy decision for any family. However, seeing the positive difference Coton House has made in such a short time has shown me it was the right choice.
The staff have been welcoming and supportive from the beginning, and it is clear they care about the residents. The home is always clean, comfortable and well maintained.
The biggest difference I have noticed is in my mum herself. She is now joining in with activities, spending time with others and engaging much more than she was at home. Seeing her happier and more involved has been really reassuring.
Any questions or concerns have been dealt with quickly, and the staff are always approachable. Knowing my mum is safe, supported and cared for gives me real peace of mind.

Thank you to everyone at Coton House for the care you provide.

It is always a very hard decision for any family to put a loved one in care.We wanted the right care home for mum and after looking at several Coton House gave us what we were looking for. Mum is cared for exactly how we expected. Her personal care was a priority and she is happy with how the carers have been looking after her. Her room is always clean and her washing is always fresh and folded away properly in the drawers. Obviously at first the settling in period, but mum adapted well. The staff have helped us tremendously to make mum comfortable. The senior staff are very observant with any medical needs and are dealt with professionally. Wonderful ladies. The manager Dee has always made us very welcome and has worked on all mums needs to make her comfortable. She listened to us and has made mum feel at home, and always makes time to listen to mum and the family if there is any concerns. I always leave mum feeling happy and relieved she is in a good home.

The staff and management are friendly and approachable. The home is a busy but welcoming place.
My Great Aunt was in the home for 3 years and enjoyed her time there doing activities and being part of the Barty family.
She was treated with respect and dignity at all times and I was kept informed of any changes in her eating/health etc.
My Great Aunt and family were always treated with love and compassion during her stay and especially in her last few days.

I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a caring home.

My mother was transferred to coton house from another care home in October. At first glance the home looked tired. But inside it as a family feel to it and all the staff are friendly and helpful. With a new manager recently appointed and a full time activity coordinator.the home is constantly moving forward and residents and family members are encouraged to attend meetings and have an input. In addition to cooked meals choice of two, tea and snacks are available though out the day.

My mom is now a resident of Richmond court, I cannot thank them enough for the love and care they give my mom, she has settled there so well, she's looked after, they dye her hair, paint her nails, mom is none verbal and we were scared to death when she first went into the home, my mom has come on while there, she is calmer, happier and just so much more at ease, I cannot thank the staff enough for there kindness and care they have give to my mom, it's piece of mind for us knowing they look after her the way they do, I cannot recommend this place enough, thank you Richmond court, we are truly grateful for what you do for mom.

Dont judge a book by its cover, the home is outdated, but it's not what it looks like its the care given to their residents.
I can honestly say this home is excellent.
All the staff are friendly, what they deliver is genuine care, compassion and dignity.

There is daily interaction, so they dont just have to sit in the chair all day doing nothing. Home cooked food on a daily basis and the home smells fresh unlike others. My mom only got to stay here for a short time before she passed but said she was happy here.

Review of Coton Grange from K L (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mum was placed at Coton Grange after a stay in hospital after a long lie fall and confusion. Since her arrival the staff have made her very welcome and are always actively interacting with the residents which is lovely to see. She loves taking part in the activities from gardening through to art and seated exercise. Since she has been at Coton she is getting more mobile and is having less vacant moments. She is always nicely dressed and has had her hair done and chiropody is offered as an additional payment which is beneficial. The staff always keep us updated on how she is and have sat with us to discuss what she likes to do and what foods etc she prefers. It is comforting to see her old self returning and gives relatives reassurance that she is happy.

From the day that my dad arrived at Bearwood road Nursing home, we was made very welcome. Raj, the manager is lovely, friendly and explained everything & made us feel comfortable with our dad moving in. Reena , the receptionist is very welcoming as we come in to see dad, caring & lovely. From the moment we walked into Coton Grange Care Home, I knew it was a special place. The manager and her staff are always smiling, welcoming, and treat my husband with such warmth and respect. It is a huge relief to see him settled and happy, and well cared for. They go out of their way to make me feel welcome, too. Treating us like family. I travelled from Manchester to visit my father on 15th April 2026, I thought the care, attention and the interaction by the Staff with the residents is first class, the residents all look happy and content and well cared for. Since my father has been in the home having been discharged from hospital, he looks a lot healthier, and is general wellbeing is far better, he seems happy and content, this is down to the caring nature of the staff.

I would definetely recommend the Coton Grange for any new residents.

Overall Experience
Choosing a care home for a loved one is one of the most difficult decisions a family can make, but our experience with Caldene Care Home has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment my aunt moved in, any anxieties we held were immediately replaced by a profound sense of relief and gratitude.
The quality of care she receives is truly outstanding. It is clear that the staff do not view their roles as just a job; they treat the residents with a level of dignity and genuine affection that is heartwarming to witness. Whether it is ensuring her medical needs are met with precision or simply taking the time to sit and have a meaningful conversation with her, the team consistently goes above and beyond.

What impresses me most is the vibrant atmosphere and the dedication to resident well-being. The staff do an excellent job of fostering a community where my aunt feels seen and valued.

My mom has been a resident at Coton Grange since November. My mom has advanced dementia with lots of ups & downs with her health of the past 3 months. I am very impressed with Coton grange & its staff. They are caring thoughtful & considerate to its residents & their family's. Special thank you to Nicola & Letitia who are very professional but approachable & who try to bring a smile to you & the residents face.
