As a rapidly declining dementia sufferer it was decided Mum could no longer live independently at her home alone due to the round the clock safeguarding she needed. Pinxton Manor had a couple of spare rooms for us to view and choose for Mum which was really nice as it was important that Mum was in a
lovely, bright and sunny room with a view of the garden which is her happy place. Upon arrival Mum just wanted to go home instantly and didn't take her coat off for about 6hrs. It was the hardest thing for me to do and broke me doing it and I left thinking Mum would never settle. But due to the fabulous, understanding, caring and very patient staff, Mum began to settle so much quicker than we ever thought she would which gave us huge relief. Over the last 4 months, I've seen Mum smile, laugh and chat constantly, as I've never seen her before, thoroughly loves her meals and dances at every opportunity when music is on. The best move ever for Mum and I can't thank Pinxton Manor Staff enough
Reply from Jacki Perry, Operations Manager at Pinxton ManorThank you for such a lovely and heart felt review. My mum was a resident at Pinxton Manor for 4 and a half years. It was difficult for us in the beginning, coming to terms with someone else taking care of our lovely mum. But she settled well and the staff became her new best friends. During her stay she was well cared for and always seem happy and content
whenever we visited her. She loved a laugh and a cheeky joke and they all engaged with her during those times. She enjoyed the singing and music related activities and even when she could no longer fully participate there was always a lovely smile on her face. She was able to get her hair and nails done regularly which she loved. ALL of the staff are extremely welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. Sadly mum passed away here last month , the staff were so considerate and empathetic during a difficult week and we cant thank them enough. In fact as our dad now needs care also, we have decided that Pinxton Manor is the best place for him too. Its early days but he has settled well x
Reply from Jacki Perry, Operations Manager at Pinxton ManorDear Jane

Take care and Dawn and the team are always there for you.

My mum resided in Autumn Grange for 5 years, She loved it there when she was mobile she loved wondering round and getting into mischief.. The staff thought she was a right character.
But she had a fall and broke her hip and couldn't get about anymore, the staff were always there supporting her. Unfortunately
mum passed in November and the staff were fabulous and supportive to me and my family.. Thankyou to everyone that work in the carehome you made my mum feel so content and part of your lovely home.. X

Very happy with the care given towards my mother. She has been a resident there since 2022. The staff are always attentive, kind and caring. My mum had been previously cared for at home, but her illness resulted in a bedroom existence. She has now become much happier and made many friends. The activities
provided, especially crafts and singing, are among her favourites. I wish to thank the entire team at Pinxton Manor for improving mums quality of life and bringing back her cheeky sparkle. Merry Christmas to you all.

My mum was struggling to cope at home with my dad who had been diagnosed with dementia , so it was decided the best thing for him would be to go in a home for safety as my mum's health was declining , it took him a while to settle , due to him wanting to be at home where he was used to and being constantly
with my mum in a familiar place , it was a huge change for him , but he knows going home is not an option for him now and has settled , the staff are so good , attending to his needs , they are very patient and understanding, keep him occupied with activities , he's kept smart and clean which is what my dad has always been , his room is cosy and clean , I have no problem putting any of my relatives in Pinxton manor , I am very happy with the care they give from the management, nurses , carers , cooks , cleaners and everyone else there , thankyou so much for your dedication to my dad and the love and care you give , not only to him but all the other residents you have in your care x

My Dad moved into Pinxton Manor Oct 2024; from point of assessment everything has been faultless. Every single member of staff treats each resident with dignity and respect and treat them like they are their own family. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. They do a wide range of activities daily
for residents inside the home and occasionally out in the community . Singing for the brain is regular on the activity plan and it is very heart-warming at the reaction of all residents. The personal approach Pinxton Manor staff give to each resident is very special place. Deciding for a loved one to go into a care home is never an easy decision but Pinxton Manor is a very special place and i would never hesitate for a loved one to live there.

mum has had dementia for 5 years ,unfortunately due to getting worse my dad was struggling with her during the night with her wandering around and walking about.
we decided as a family that for safety and helping dad the time had come for mum to have care home help.
we arranged a visit to look round
Pinxton Manor care home , we was greeted with a warm smile and was shown around the home . we had a detailed tour and we knew mum would be happy here.
its absolutely beautiful and clean and all the staff where friendly and spoke to us . we had a consultation at our home to go through a few questions regarding mum it was very helpful and informative.
mum started her stay in mid October her bedroom is really nice and you can take anything in to make it seem just like home,
mum absolutely loves it. all of the staff treat you like family from the very beginning and are all very courteous. Pinxton Manor as made a very hard decision for us easy and have put our minds at rest. thank you to all

Mum had almost 6 very happy years in Pinxton manor. She formed many friendships with the lovely staff , who all treated her with respect, and genuine affection. Myself and my family were extremely happy with mums care , and since her passing, we feel a massive part of our lives has changed. They were
wonderful with her, and we will miss them all. Letting mum go into care was incredibly difficult, but knowing she was safe in their hands was priceless.

My mum has settled in well at Woodlands and is very happy. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble and they make sure to inform me of anything to do with her health and care.
The menu on offer each day is wonderful and if my mum doesn't eat or like what is on offer,
there is always an alternative.
Not all the activities are to my mums liking and recently (due to illness) she has complained of there not being much to do but on the whole it is good.
There have been a few occasions (generally at the weekend) when I have been kept waiting to be let in but other than that, I think Woodlands nursing home and staff are great.
Reply from Jacki Perry, Operations Manager at The WoodlandsThank you so much for your positive comments and constructive feedback. We are pleased your mum is settled and enjoys her meals, as this is very important. I have passed on your kind words to the team and have also asked the activities team to chat with you and your mum about things she might like to do to occupy her time, as this is also very important for her wellbeing.
I'm sorry you have been kept waiting on occasions. We understand this is frustrating and we do remind staff to listen out for the door, but it is sometimes inevitable if everyone is busy with residents. We are lucky to have the inside porch, so at least people aren't waiting outside. Thank you again, your feedback is really appreciated.

All the carers are great with my mum. She has started having baths instead of showers and she seems to like them better. She likes trips out and hopefully she will be taken out a little more in the future. They go to garden centres etc. Although my mum has Alzheimer's and doesn't really know me (or
anyone) anymore, when I ask if she is ok and happy she does reply 'yes'. If mum is happy then so am I. I special shout out to Katie, Kim, and Paula.

From the first day to the final passing of my mum the care all staff gave my mum was of such a high standard. Obviously each person living in this envonment has different needs but for my mum it was of an excellent standard.
The dignity shown when mum passed was so lovely I can honestly recommend this
care home to any family member who has to have support with living in old age.
The activity schedule set weekly is excellent and seasonal events are such a lovely thing you can get involved in.
If you want additional services like hair dresser or nail technicians services it's all available.
Basically nothing is too much trouble at Pinxton manor which shows me training of all staff is well maintained.
Reply from Jacki Perry, Operations Manager at Pinxton ManorDear Russell, our condolences for your mum and thank you for choosing Pinxton Manor to share a part of her life with us. It is always a privilege to care for people nearing end of life and to hopefully make this time as dignified and fulfilling as possible. We couldn't have picked a better home for my dad, the staff are all absolutely wonderful and go above and beyond for the residents. Even when he's unwell he still has a smile for some staff members and it's the most beautiful smile that tells us just how happy he is and that we made the right decision
even if it was a hard one. The amount of activities they do for both residents and their families is just amazing and it really does help having these social events to be able to talk to others who are experiencing the same. We especially love the Forgetful Me Not Cafe held each month where families get together for coffee, cake and chats and updates on what's going on or upcoming events. My favourite has to be the seaside/summer event where we all get to go and sit in the garden and chat and play games and listen to music. Last year a resident that didn't really talk much and can't get around as well as others sang an old song into the mic of the singer and it brought tears to my eyes.

My husband has only been a resident in Haddon House for a few weeks, but he has settled really well which is credit to the hard working staff. The home is very friendly and welcoming and the residents are well cared for in a safe homely environment. The domestic team work hard to get clothes laundered
and back in wardrobes on a daily basis. The activity team are dedicated and work tirelessly focusing on the individual residents' interests. The experienced care staff are always on hand to help with any requests. I feel reassured that my husband is being well looked after.

The staff at Pinxton Manor have been brilliant in caring for my Dad over the last 18 months, we couldn't have asked for more in any way.
In his last days they were so caring and professional, both to him and us as a family
At the very end of his life they were with us at every step.

My husband has been a resident in Haddon House for the last 8 months. The care he has received has been second to none, the staff go over and above to ensure that residents are cared for in a safe, friendly, and caring environment. The activity team work extremely hard to provide residents with activities/experiences
tailored to their individual needs/ personalities. Nothing is too much trouble and relatives are made to feel welcome and included.
Unfortunately my husband had a recent fall resulting in him being admitted to hospital for surgery. The staff dealt with the situation in a professional manner and on his return to Haddon House kept me fully informed regarding any changes to his treatment and care plan, of other healthcare professional's involvement, and his day to day progress with regards to his mobility and general well being. I would have no hesitation in recommending Haddon House as a specialist home caring for people with dementia.

My mother was moved to The Woodlands recently after a bad experience at another care home, where they didn't give her the right kind of care she needed. She ended up having a fall and was returned to hospital. After this, she was put on end-of-life and moved to Woodlands.
This home is the complete
opposite of the other home. All the staff were friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble for us or my mum.
I am a manager myself and couldn't find fault with any of the service given to my mum. The decoration may look tired and could do with refreshing but it was very clean and tidy everywhere. And yes, they may have had days where they may have been short-staffed but this did not reflect on the service they gave.
My mum has recently passed away. On the night she did, she was treated with respect and dignity, as she always was.
So I can only thank all the staff for the care she received, even though it was just for a short while.
So again, thank you.
Reply from Chris Perks, Quality Assurance Manager at The WoodlandsMany thanks for giving us the time to write a review. My father was in Woodlands Care Home from July 2023 and during that time deteriorated rapidly. He had a bed sore which was not treated - he was left for long periods of time in a chair rather than being regularly moved. He lost 10% of his body weight and refused to eat food which was often given to
him uncut which was required due to his Parkinsons and a broken wrist. We had meetings arranged with external nurses for which the Woodland's nursing staff didn't attend or couldn't use the laptop to obtain his notes.
We moved our father to an alternative care home at the end of November - this new home have arranged physiotherapy which was cancelled at Woodlands. He is now eating more and the food is cut up for him without having to request it. More importantly, they are actively treating his bedsore and moving him every 2 hours which wasn't happening at Woodlands.
Reply from Jacki Perry, Operations Manager at The WoodlandsThank you for your review although we are disappointed to read your further concerns. I will finalise my investigation and forward the findings. I can confirm all requested information was sent to the appropriate authorities at the time of request. We have now just received a further request and will action this as soon as possible.
As before, we are sorry not to have met your expectations during your father’s short stay for assessment purposes, and we are pleased you found a suitable placement for him and all is well.
