I began my nursing career in 1982 and, after qualifying as a registered nurse, worked across a variety of roles in acute hospitals, including intensive care, adult wards, and acute admissions for older people. I also undertook further training in midwifery before starting my own family. Throughout my career, I’ve always felt a strong passion for caring for people, particularly older individuals. I joined Woodlands as a Registered Nurse and Deputy Manager, and in 1997, I became the Registered Manager, a role I have been proud to hold ever since.
My main motivation has always been to make a difference in the daily lives of those who need care and support. That sense of purpose continues to drive me, and I find it incredibly rewarding to know that the work we do has a positive impact on the people we care for.
I see my strengths in being supportive and approachable, leading a team where everyone’s strengths are valued. My focus is always on maintaining high standards of care and ensuring residents receive the best possible support.
My approach is open, welcoming, and inclusive. We aim to create a home environment where residents and their families feel comfortable, supported, and part of the Woodlands community.
A value I strongly believe in is treating others as you would like to be treated yourself, and this is something I carry through both my work and everyday life.
