Mum is well cared for and is now fairly settled and contented at Haddon Hall. Thank you for this. She is very fond of nature and being outside, and so the garden was a great attraction in our selection of a suitable home for her.
Therefore, I was extremely surprised and disappointed to find not a single
spring bulb either planted or in bloom in March. Ports and troughs were untidy and very neglected at a time when Buxton was full of Spring colour elsewhere. It was depressing and dull. Mum is too frail to go far, and a little effort in the Autum could make the garden a place of joy for her and others.

Hollie has really taken a person-centred approach to mum's care; she has gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that not only is mum's care of the highest order, but also that she is engaging socially and participating in a range of activities. This has made mum's life so much better. Thank
you!

My mother has stayed at Haddon Hall for respite care four times, the most recent lasting just over 3 weeks. She says that she is very well looked after. The room is large and pleasant, and everywhere seems clean. I have not spent a lot of time in the home, so some of my answers are guesswork, but I
think I would know if things were not up to scratch. I feel safe leaving her in the homes care.

My grandad has recently been diagnosed with a terminal illness and he told me he would love a bath as he cant remember the last time he had a soak (he only has a shower in his bungalow) I rang Haddon hall care home and from that first contact I could tell the staff were soo caring. I spoke with one
of the managers, Hollie, she was fantastic, so compassionate, friendly, understanding and caring, she said they had never been asked to use the facilities before but it was absolutely no trouble for us to go and use the bathroom.
On arrival to use the bathroom we were greeted with a warm welcome from the receptionist before being met by Hollie, Hollie was lovely from the off and I cant tell you how grateful I am for her help in making my grandad happy, he was overwhelmed with the care home and how lovely it was, in his words "wow this is luxury" he absolutely loved every minute we were there, the facilities were fantastic and soo clean. We were made to feel very welcome for anything.

My dad had been in Haddon Hall for 3 years. He was suffering from the later stages of Alzheimer's but I can honestly say that these last 3 years have been some of the best in his Alzheimer's journey.
From the very first day, I have had nothing but peace of mind that he was safe, loved and well cared
for. All the stress I'd had prior to him moving to Haddon Hall disappeared overnight, leaving me free to just enjoy being with him, take him out and have fun.
The care in Haddon Hall is exemplary and I couldn't have chosen a better place for him be for his last few years of life. Every member of staff from kitchen staff, housekeepers, maintenance staff, activity staff, receptionists, carers and managers are all wonderful with every resident and visitor showing compassion and kindness at all times. It's been such a joy being part of the Haddon Hall community.
I couldn't have wished for a better end of life for my Dad. The nurses and staff looked after both me and Dad with such grace and dignity. He died so very peacefully in his home surrounded by all his Haddon Hall family and myself.

Mum moved to Haddon Hall in December 2024, and every day since then she has received compassion and has been treated with the utmost respect. She is afe and this gives us - her family - great reassurance. The care staff are helpful and patient. They are all friendly and have a happy disposition. Many
of the care staff go above and beyond, helping us as family members as well as residents. Families of other residents are helpful and supportive. Haddon Hall is Mum's home - it feels like one big family here.

Due to declining health, my cousin has moved to Haddon Hall. As soon as I made contact and viewed the care home, I immediately knew he would be happy and professionally cared for. look forward to seeing an improvement in his health so that he can enjoy the facilities and activities offered at Haddon Hall.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.792)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.792) out of 10 for Haddon Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.792 for Haddon Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (318 Excellents x 5) + (55 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 385 Ratings = 4.792
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Haddon Hall Care Home is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
