All the day staff are fantastic and look after me very well. I can’t fault them.
I find it less reassuring at night as most of the staff seem to be agency and seem less interested and interactive. My room is lovely.

All care staff are kind, friendly, polite and helpful. Room cleaning service is excellent. Pureed meals provided for my father are usually good, but not quite the same as a proper meal. Provision of fruit in the afternoon is good.

Mum came to Haddon Hall six years ago. From the start, the staff were kind, welcoming, good at caregiving and conscientious. Alongside their unfailing good humour, these qualities - so dreadfully tested during the years of the pandemic - remained undiminished. For someone wanting to be confident that
a person they love will be in the best possible hands, these seem to me to be the most important qualities a care team can have.
Reply from Paul Wright, Home Manager at Haddon Hall Care HomeThank you for your wonderful review and such lovely comments, especially under such difficult circumstances. It was our pleasure to have been entrusted with the care of your mum. She is missed by all of the team here at Haddon Hall.

Mum was made to feel welcome as soon as she moved in. The staff are all very friendly and kind. Mum feels secure and safe, knowing there is always someone she can call on if she needs help. The garden area is very well maintained and provides a lovely environment for residents to exercise or sit and
relax.

My mum has been in Haddon Hall for three years now. I'm not well myself so it's very important to me to know my mum with dementia is happy and well cared for. I can honestly say I couldn't have found a better place. The staff are wonderful and the place is so lovely and clean, it's more like a hotel.
We are always made extremely welcome too. Thank you.

The staff are excellent, mixed strengths and personalities which was a positive.
The food was delicious.
During the stay there didn't seem to be any entertainment, no trips and no films.
The gardens are well maintained and thoroughly enjoyed. Especially the water feature which encouraged the birds.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When our sister needed nursing care, two Homes offered places: one near to us and Haddon Hall, 15 miles away. The moment we walked through the door at Haddon Hall you could feel the energy in the place, and as my husband said, it has a feel of a well-oiled machine: everything organised and working perfectly,
thanks to the leadership. Walking by the dining room with its tablecloths, napkins and tasty menus is like being in a smart hotel, with more choices. All the family feel that the care shown to her has been amazing. Staff have always tried ways to keep her interested, keep her happy, keep her comfortable. She went down to the residential unit when interesting activities were on, or we could wheel her out into the lovely garden. In her final days, staff cared not only for her but the family too, she was able to slip away with dignity. We are so thankful we chose Haddon Hall and as an ex-professional in the care sector, I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
Reply from Mark Smith, Home Manager at Haddon Hall Care HomeThank you so much for your lovely, kind words which I will share with the wider team on your behalf.
I am so glad we were able to provide comfort and support to you and your loved ones during your sister’s final days. It has been our honour and absolute pleasure to take care of your very much loved sister. She is deeply missed by everyone here at Haddon Hall.
We work hard to exceed all expectations and the team will be thrilled to receive this feedback. The care and well-being of every resident is our number one priority and it is rewarding to have such positive feedback.

I came to Haddon Hall Care Home for two weeks respite care following a hip replacement. We viewed the home after getting good reports from local friends and on viewing ourselves we were impressed by the cleanliness, the brightness of the building and chiefly by the friendliness of the staff.
My time
here has been greatly enhanced by the carers and staff who have been a delight to deal with. They care about the experience of residents and go the extra mile to be helpful. Thank you to them all.

I have visited my friend 3 times in the last fortnight and as far as I'm aware in that short time of visiting the standard of care has been excellent. I think there needs to be a clearer picture for guests in these Covid times as to where guests are allowed to be with the residents. On my first visit
I was able to take her into the community areas and sit with her, but on the second visit this was prohibited. I am unable to comment on the management and the value for money as I don't have this knowledge.

My Mother has spent 2 weeks respite in the Haddon Hall Care Home in Buxton and enjoyed every minute of her stay.
Above all, she gives a glowing report of the care she received. The staff were wonderful. Nothing was too much bother for them and they supported her situation of almost total blindness
with friendly professionalism.
Many thanks to all her carer's and for a really enjoyable stay.

I arrived here directly from the hospital after undergoing a Radical Cystoscopy. I arrived here on day 10 after my operation. I needed space, quiet and gentle care and I received this in spades. I cannot fault the treatment, the love and the care I received here in Haddon Hall and I have been allowed
to 'sleep myself well' cradled by absolutely every person I have come across. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.845)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.845) out of 10 for Haddon Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.845 for Haddon Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (322 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 373 Ratings = 4.845
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Haddon Hall Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
