My sister was in your care home for end-of-life care. I really couldn't believe how good everything was - it exceeded our expectations. Of particular note was the kindness, care and compassion of your staff. And this was right across the board from the very top down. Thank you. There was always a smile
and greeting even if I was just visiting and walking down the corridor. I am so grateful for all you did for my sister. Lovely atmosphere.
Reply from Lynne Elliott, Home Manager at Penhurst Gardens Care HomeThank you so much for your heartfelt review of Penhurst Gardens. I feel so lucky that my Dad got to live his last months at Upton Mill. He received excellent care and all the staff were friendly, compassionate and caring and made my visits a pleasure with their happy and sunny outlook.

Wiltshire Heights provided respite care for my Mother. She was very reluctant to use any respite service but the team at Wiltshire Heights made her feel welcome and all her needs were met.
The staff were amazing, going above and beyond to provide an excellent service. They were informative to me over
the phone on the days I was unable to visit. It was soon apparent the staff truly cared about the clients within the establishment.

Cavell Park Care Home

from Kelly R (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum moved into Cavell Park August 2024, she had just turned 71. She agreed to move in due to her needing 24/7 nursing care.
She lived as part of the Cavell Park community until the 5th May 2026 when she passed peacefully.
During her time there she was respected, cared for and during her last
week, shown such compassion and care which as a family was so much needed. The staff clearly cared for my Mum as we were not the only ones in tears.
Staff are not only just supportive to the resident but the family visitors too, I went any time day or night to see my Mum.
Mum struggled with activities due to her health and being younger than the average resident. But there is a large activity menu, cinema and small gym there.
The building is modern and fresh, a cafe for residents and visitors, a nice garden to walk around and a lovely bunch of cheerful people working there always happy to help.
I would recommend Cavell Park to anyone needing full time care.
Reply from Gemma Fryer, Home Manager at Cavell Park Care HomeThank you for your heartfelt review. We're deeply sorry for your loss and grateful that our team could provide the care and compassion your Mum needed. Your kind words mean a lot to us. The staff at Wiltshire Heights were all very welcoming when we moved my husband in. They were also very sympathetic on what was an emotional day for us. Since my husband's arrival in Wiltshire Heights, we have been asked many times what more they could do, what more could they provide to help him feel
comfortable. We have been very impressed by the professionalism of the nursing staff, the care helpers, and by the friendly efficiency with which the home is run.

Su moved in 4 months ago, we thought for palliative care. What a change, she is doing amazingly well, settled, happy, participating in group activities, of which there are many. Staff are caring, attentive and friendly to residents. I would highly recommend Astbury Care Home and am very confident in
their team.

My husband is well looked after and his physical welfare has improved with the excellent care he has received from everyone; staff, carers and nurses. The home is so friendly and welcoming and it is a pleasure to be part of it. So lovely to know he is safe and well cared for. Many thanks.

Further to my previous review, I am writing to say how beautifully cared for my mother was in her last days. The staff were without exception kind, gentle and helpful to her and to me, and made the final few weeks far less stressful than they might have been. I would recommend Lincroft Meadow unhesitatingly.
Reply from Elaine Ratcliffe, Home Manager at Lincroft Meadow Care HomeThank you for taking a moment to leave us such a kind review during this difficult time. It was an honour to care for your mother, and we miss her dearly. Please know that you are always welcome at Lincroft Meadow.

My Mum has dementia and has been at Barley Manor since January 2026. Her room is lovely, the facilities and food are excellent but the main thing that makes the home so wonderful is the staff! From Maddie on reception, to all of the nursing care team, the cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance team,
Narcis the manager and Jayne the activities lead, every staff member says hello with a warm smile, and goes out of their way to provide a caring and stimulating environment for Mum, and regular updates for me. The cafe is a wonderful hub within the home and a lovely place to sit with Mum for a hot chocolate.
Reply from Narcis Militaru, Home Manager at Barley Manor Care HomeThank you for your kind feedback. It is a pleasure and an honour to have your lovely mum with us, and it is great to hear you are so happy with our home.

Prestbury House Care Home

Staff are all very attentive and helpful. Nice outdoor area and reasonable size public lounge. A nice assortment of outings, although only a couple of residents can attend at once due to need for one-on-one staffing. More evening activities after 6 would be nice, and some more musical venues, as many
residents seem engaged. Bistro area is very small and parking can be an issue, but not sure how this could be resolved. Mum would have benefited from more one-on-one care to keep her mobile but that window has closed. When special events provide food it should replace lunch or dinner so more appreciated.

Lovely gardens, lounge/conservatory more like a hotel where you'd go on holiday, not a care home. Staff are lovely, welcoming and very caring. The dining room is like a restaurant, no canteen-like feeling that you get in many homes in the area. The activities team are excellent, always trying to find
something different to do. A few more staff would give residents more one-on-one time for a push-out in wheelchair.
