Excellent premises
Delightful and helpful staff
Good food and ambience
The genuine attempt to encourage the residents to engage in social intercourse is to be particularly commended
In my particular case because I am a considerable distance away the arrangements to change doctors arrange hospital
transportation is particularly helpful

I cannot fault this care home. My mum is on the memory floor where the staff are wonderful. All the staff are so welcoming, caring and friendly. The decor is like a 5* hotel and my mum comments on the good food. There is a bistro area where we can take her for a drink and cake. The activities are brilliant,
as are all the facilities(cinema, hair salon etc). I like the fact that they have put pictures up on the wall for her. She is well cared for both medically and personally. I feel she is very safe and in good hands. The lady in charge of the memory floor is outstandingly good at her job. The whole place feels like home and has a lovely calm atmosphere.

Bourne Wood Manor Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Bourne Wood Manor is modern with facilities as excellent as you might expect - good sized bedrooms, delightful restaurant, private dining room for loved ones' families, a cinema, bistro, hairdresser, and pretty gardens.
However, the key thing about Bourne Wood Manor has nothing to do with its facilities
but has everything to do with its staff. They are wonderful - kind, responsive and caring. As you walk along the corridors, whether you're a visitor or resident, you are always greeted by a warm smile and cheery hello. Staff are chatty and engaging with the residents, with the obvious aim of making everyone's time there as positive and rewarding as possible.
They couldn't have cared better for my mother. And so I couldn't recommend it more for other people's loved ones.

Mentioned clothes go missing and other items: 2 pairs of glasses have gone missing, 1 pink dressing gown, 1 pair of slippers, 2 white t-shirts, 1 brown summer dress, 1 royal blue t-shirt.

Bourne Wood Manor Care Home

My aunt has been at Bourne Wood Manor for nearly four years and her care has always been very good, but I was particularly touched by the extreme kindness, gentleness and thoughtfulness of her care over the last few weeks when she was in decline and eventually passed away. It must have been very distressing
for the staff to see her declining but they were all absolutely sweet with her and, for example, happily went through the laborious procedure of hoisting her into a wheelchair when she said she wanted to get up, only to have to put her back to bed again 15 min later. It was very helpful for me and my wife to have medically-trained people to hand to advise on what she should take by mouth and to address breathing issues; and also to benefit from the weekly GP visits that the home have arranged. Altogether the care during her final week was faultless, so the five stars are much more well-deserved than many five-star ratings!

All the staff are kind, friendly, very professional. If it is an emotional moment they are great at being there with comfort. As a patient I feel in safe hands twenty four hours a day. Everywhere is always clean and the catering is very good. Any problems and the managers listen and make the problem
go away, could not ask for more. Staff have an excellent sense of humour, so plenty of laughter, which I really enjoy. If anything breaks maintenance sorts it out ASAP. The laundry is always returned ironed like new. If is a good place to be needing help and care if you no longer manage alone.

My mum didn't want to move to a care home, but it is a great comfort to know she is being so well looked after. She speaks very highly of the carers and other staff, has made friends and settled into a lovely community. The supportive and positive environment has led to her regaining the confidence
to resume one of her beloved hobbies, after giving up for a number of years.
