Review of Chiltern Grange Care Home from H C (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
This afternoon, Chiltern Grange held a Summer Party for their residents. The turnout was the best I've seen.
The weather was kind, the entertainment ( a singer and his daughter) was age appropriate and got everyone singing.
The staff were attentive, ensuring everyone was happy and giving everyone a bit of their time.
The food and Pimms were a treat.

The organisers did a great job and my mother (and I) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Reply from Matt Berry, Regional Director at Chiltern Grange Care Home

Review of Woodland Manor Care Home from R S (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 3 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My grandma moved into Woodland a few months ago and it has been so lovely. It's a big change moving her into the dementia ward, but all the staff are so wonderful, considerate, helpful and spread lots of joy! The food is fantastic and they have lots of good activities and opportunities for the wider community to be involved. It's a clean and beautiful site with a great garden for a cup of tea and a cake. They have been fabulous and their support has been very appreciated.

Review of Tonbridge House Care Home from Jonathan C (Son of Resident) published on 2 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

In December 2024 shortly after my then 92 year old mother living with dementia moved in. She's now 94 and has been in the home for almost 2 years. My opinion of the home, its facilities, food, activities and in particular the hard-working and compassionate staff remains just as high. The super-human staff have recognised and accommodated my mother's individual needs exceptionally well and the home continues to stand out in comparison to others in the area I visited before we committed to it. I've also appreciated the care and concern the staff have extended to me on many an occasion and would still happily recommend it.

Review of Lavender Oaks Care Home from Deborah G (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Daily life at Lavender Oaks Care Home is well managed. Nearly all the staff are incredibly friendly and always make a genuine effort to spend meaningful time talking to the residents. Sue leads the entire team brilliantly, always taking the time to listen and act on any and all requests. Key staff members like Alex, Michaela, Bianca, and Lisa know my mother incredibly well, having invested real effort into understanding her personality and preferences. Whenever my mother gets distressed, the team proactively helps her contact me, ensuring I always feel fully informed and supported through the process. The food is also beautifully prepared and presented, with the catering staff regularly checking in with my mother to find out exactly what she would like to eat. Overall, the home provides a clean, fresh, and inviting environment. While I would naturally prefer for my mother not to require this high level of care, since we do not have that choice, the support they provide is lovey.

Reply from Peter Haysonm, Home Manager at Lavender Oaks Care Home

P has stayed at Penhurst Gardens for a period of 1 week. He has received the best of care and understanding. All of the staff, without exception, have been most helpful and caring. P had been ill, took time to settle but enjoyed himself. All of this enabled the 'carer guilt' to be minimal and gave peace of mind. Thank you all! P will be returning.

My mother required respite care after a fall. The staff from administration to nursing care could have not been more accommodating. On her birthday they sang to her. If my mother did not like the menu the chefs would cook something else for her. Her room is spacious and looks out on to a courtyard garden which is beautifully kept and is calm and peaceful. I feel that my mother is very well looked after and safe in their professional care.

Review of Woodland Manor Care Home from Beverley Anne B (Friend of Resident) published on 28 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I visit my friend fairly regularly and have always found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and there is a nice atmosphere.

On Sunday, however, they held a bbq afternoon which was fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble and the food served was excellent. They went to a lot of trouble to make sure all tastes were catered for. Later, they had some dancers who were fabulous. It was an amazing afternoon and all the residents had a lovely time and were very well looked after. I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for an excellent place to care for their loved ones.

My friend of 50yrs has moved into Penhurst Gardens due to having had a stroke. She's been there over 12 months now and has been very happy. The food is brilliant & we all love the pastries, cake, tea & coffee available in the lounge. The staff have been so kind & helpful, it seems like nothing is too much trouble for them. When we visited Val recently the staff & activity team had worked with her to organise a surprise birthday party for me!! It was fantastic. The kitchen prepared lots of lovely food & an amazing birthday cake & the activity team had helped Val construct a quiz & other games. Everyone was bowled over to think that was possible in a care home.

My wife and I have recently returned to Yorkshire after visiting our very good friend Val in Penhurst Gardens We have visited 2 or 3 previous times and on each visit we are so pleased she is there. We had been concerned about her moving out of her own home into a care home, but she is so happy there and feels so safe and secure. We have found the staff to be truly outstanding. They are so welcoming and friendly and always willing to go the extra mile. Our friend says she loves the food & we got a chance to eat in the Fine Dining room with some of her family and Val and us, That was a wonderful time for all of us. Penhurst Gardens really is a home away from home.

Lincroft Meadow is first class. I managed to move my father here rather urgently and from the initial phone call, I just knew he was going to the right place, which was confirmed in practice by the lovely welcome he was given on arrival, and the care he has had subsequently....the colour returned to his cheeks within 24 hours! All the staff are exceptionally kind, helpful and thoroughly professional. The facilities and extras are all great. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

A family friend was in for respite care following a hospital stay.
The home was immaculate and attention to detail was just like home from home.
My friend joined in some activities, but there was lots on offer as well as the cinema.
The outside space made a huge difference and we used it alot when we visited.

Staff were all really friendly so overall a really positive experience for everyone

Review of Woodland Manor Care Home from M J (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Our father moved to Woodland Manor only 2 months ago. We experienced a wonderful living environment and were struck at first by the beautiful, well-thought-out architecture. Then we experienced your wonderful care team: Carmen, Roxie and the team who genuinely cared about Dad's experience of settling in. We are relieved and happy with the new set-up. The only feedback for improvement we have is for the food, very stodgy, not very healthy-looking or tasty to our palate. Also Dad complains of unsettling noise (food trolleys, scraping chairs, room doors) which would be easy to sort out to cater for sensitive ears. Many thanks to everyone in your organisation.

Review of Astbury Mere Care Home from C H (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

From our very first contact, this home has been exceptional. Securing a place for mum was a highly complex situation and the Client Services Manager handled everything with remarkable efficiency, whilst showing genuine compassion, and respect for our whole family at a deeply distressing time. Since mum arrived every member of staff has gone above and beyond. The carers deserve the highest praise - they are wonderful with mum treating her with patience, kindness and real affection every single day. They know her as a person not just a resident and it showed in everything they do. The nursing staff are equally outstanding, thorough and meticulous in every aspect of her care, and unlike experiences elsewhere nothing is ever too much trouble. The same collective pride runs right through the home from the administrators to housekeeping, and the ladies serving tea, lunch and dinner. Visiting most days we see high standards consistently, not just for mum but for every resident. We feel enormous relief and gratitude knowing she is safe, respected and genuinely cared for. I would recommend this home wholeheartedly to any family.

Review of Falkland Grange Care Home from S M (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
My mum, who is 89 and living with Alzeimers and vascular dementia has thrived since moving to FG almost 3 years ago. It's a very welcoming place and the wonderful care staff show real understanding in meeting Mum's needs, and in making Mum feel safe, at ease and valued
As a modern, purpose-built care home the accommodation is well designed and spacious. It's very well decorated, inside and out, including lovely artwork in the corridors and shared spaces. This offers it a beautiful and comfortable home for Mum to live in, and a delightful place to visit too.

When I visit Mum it's great to sit in the cafe together enjoying tea and a chat before wandering into the well-tended garden. It's great to see Mum so happy
