Mum is living with dementia and everyone has been so helpful and responsive to her and our family from the very beginning and through some challenging times. Staff have taken time to get to know her and us. Mum is and has always been very independent and this has been respected and she has been shown
great understanding. I have been impressed with the staff in all roles accommodating me to remain involved with mum's care, I visit frequently and there is always a warm welcome. There is plenty of laughter and a real sense that the staff know mum and can meet her needs on a very personal level. The activities team offer a variety of events for mum to enjoy if she chooses, including church services and music /singing, it's lovely to see the animals come into the care home especially visiting dogs - always a hit with mum. The friendly, happy environment and the open door responsive policy of Lynne and her team is welcome. Mum is in a safe, happy place being well looked after, thank you.
Reply from Lynne Elliott, Home Manager at Penhurst Gardens Care HomeThank you for your heartwarming feedback. It is great to hear you are happy with every aspect of our home and your lovely mum's care.

Following a stressful few weeks in which my husband's health and mobility declined, I took the decision to ring Lea Grange Care Home. From the first time I spoke to the client services manager and residential dementia care manager I felt completely reassured that the facilities and help that are available
at the home would be of huge benefit to my husband. Whilst he has only recently moved in, the care and kindness he has received has been excellent. He is settling in well and joining in the many activities that are on offer. Thank you to everyone who has made this very difficult time so much less stressful for both of us.
Reply from Teresa Torres, Home Manager at Lea Grange Care HomeI am glad to hear we were able to provide the support and reassurance you needed during such a difficult time.

A delightful and welcoming environment. The ethos of care, dignity and respect absolutely pervades every part of this residential home. Residents are treated as mature adults who now in their later years require additional help to live valued lives. Staff are always welcoming, friendly, supportive and
informed. I know my relative is known as an individual and liked for who she is. The home is spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. It always has a happy atmosphere with lots of activities and chatter.
Reply from Gemma Fryer, Home Manager at Cavell Park Care HomeThank you for your kind feedback. We know how important it is that our residents' individual personalities, likes and dislikes are honoured when they move into our home, so it is great to hear you feel this is true.

My husband's care has been wonderful. The staff are always on hand to look after him, and anything we ask is dealt with immediately, which is incredibly reassuring.
Moving him from hospital was very stressful, but the staff made it so much easier, and he settled in so quickly.
He is very happy
and content, which means a great deal to us. The coffee lounge and gardens are lovely, and they make visiting such a pleasant and relaxed experience. We're very grateful for the care and environment provided.
Reply from Cheryl Williams, Home Manager at Bourne Wood Manor Care HomeThank you for your five-star feedback. It fills me with pride to hear you are happy with the care your husband receives.

We were looking for somewhere for my sister for respite care following emergency major surgery. When she arrived she needed help with most things but within a week she was able to walk, shower and do normal day to day things herself. The care given was exceptional. The home itself is exceptional and
of a high standard. I am so grateful to have found this place and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Reply from Linda Simpson, Home Manager at Elizabeth Gardens Care HomeThank you for taking a moment to leave us a review. I am glad to hear we were able to support you and your sister during this difficult time. It was an honour to assist in her recovery.

I came for respite care after a broken hip due to a fall, not knowing what to expect after reading bad reports on care homes, but I can say all I have received is wonderful treatment and service from a very caring staff. The room is immaculate, very nice to be in. With all the help and needs catered
for, even with my health set backs I and they have endured. I feel like this is my home and the staff I regard as my family, and I am deeply sad to be leaving.

I was very wary at coming to a care home, but after 5 weeks in hospital I couldn't walk unaided and was very weak. The care home has given me confidence back and looked after me excellently. I cannot thank them enough. You certainly have changed my opinion on care homes. Keep up the good work.

The entire home is furnished beautifully, always smells delightful and is visably clean. All of the staff are incredibly welcoming to visitors and I have personally found them to be wonderful in all respect to the service user. Making them feel welcome, reassured, cared for and feeling like they truly
matter. It feels like a very safe and caring environment where no task or request is too big. We are invited to be involved in absolutely everything and comfort and happiness always ensured and there is always something going on. We love visiting our friend and everyone at Avondale. I could not recommend it nearly enough and do so eagerly!
Sadly I don't remember everyone's names as I feel they all deserve recognition. but I would like to especially spotlight..

My brother has been in the home since May 2025 and the care I have witnessed has been heartwarming. The staff create an enviroment like a family home with lots of love and involvement in quality of life. The staff at Upton Mill were very kind, understanding and professional during an extremely worrying period of time for my family and I. My Mum moved into Upton Mill for 2 weeks respite care at very short notice. Correna was easy to contact and returned my calls promptly. She answered all my concerns
and reassured me that my Mum would be well looked after. On arrival at Upton Mill, my Mum and I were made to feel very at ease. The staff gave us all the time in the world to explain our situation and make us feel comfortable. Upton Mill is a very smart nursing home with a lovely bustling atmosphere. The decor is beautiful and family and visitors are made very welcome, especially by the extremely lovely receptionist. My Mum was well looked after during her two weeks at Upton Mill. She had a lovely bedroom and joined in some of the activities, encouraged by the events organiser. My Mum's only complaint was the food which she felt was disappointing.
Reply from Alyson Day, Home Manager at Upton Mill Care HomeThank you for your kind feedback. I am glad we were able to support you during this time and that you felt your mum was well cared for.
