Review of Falkland Grange Care Home from S M (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

My mum, who is 89 and living with Alzeimers and vascular dementia has thrived since moving to FG almost 3 years ago. It's a very welcoming place and the wonderful care staff show real understanding in meeting Mum's needs, and in making Mum feel safe, at ease and valued
As a modern, purpose-built care home the accommodation is well designed and spacious. It's very well decorated, inside and out, including lovely artwork in the corridors and shared spaces. This offers it a beautiful and comfortable home for Mum to live in, and a delightful place to visit too.

When I visit Mum it's great to sit in the cafe together enjoying tea and a chat before wandering into the well-tended garden. It's great to see Mum so happy

Review of Falkland Grange Care Home from J R (Partner of Resident) published on 20 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

We visited the Care Home last year as John had not been well since 2022/23 & felt the need to process our possible future needs. We contacted Ann who was most helpful showing us around and giving us all the information we required at the time. In June this year we were desperate for help for John & have to say Ann & the team have been fantastic. I have to add that knowing John was in the safe hands of such caring people gave me comfort. This place is definitely one I would recommend.

As soon as Mum came to EG as respite she was welcomed, she was very low in her mood & lonely after being on her own for many years. As she had to stay longer she decided to stay as her forever home. The staff are lovely, caring and go above their required job description. They have become Mums new family, Mum is happy, put on weight and has made friends. She knows everyone cares for her and it was the right choice

The communication with the management is not existent - they don't even acknowledge emails, GDPR - the management needs training on basic regulations, staff needs training on medication management. The care home told us that they are a nursing home as well - they should look at the residents needs. I can go on and on

I would like to thank the care staff at Falkland Grange care home to looking after my Mum for the last 2 years and nine months. She's now 89 years old with dementia, and increasingly needs additional support with day to day living. Her needs are met in a caring safe environment at Falkland Grange. The facilities are purpose-built, well designed with lovely communal areas and small lounges to spend quieter moments. She loves the food and eats well.
Mum's room is modern and bright, and she has her own en-suite shower room, She likes the view from her window.

Whenever I visit mum at Falkland Grange, we come down to the cafe downstairs for a chat over a tea or coffee, and then go for a stroll in the spacious well-tended garden to take in the outside air. There are different places to sit and enjoy the garden whatever the weather. It's great to see mum happy and relaxed and to know she's well cared for at Falkland Grange.

Our mother became a resident of Wiltshire Heights Care Home only for a short time at the end of her life. The staff at Wiltshire Heights could not have been more helpful, empathetic and professional. my mother became a resident in October 2024, and has received excellant and outstanding care, the staff are very kind and caring and go out of their way to make sure my mum is happy and well looked after. The home is always clean and visitors are made to feel very welcome. The food is generally of a high standard and the cakes always delicious. Review of Penhurst Gardens Care Home from Sarah K (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My brother and I reviewed numerous care homes for our mother. After looking around Penhurst Gardens we knew immediately that it was the right one for her. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, staff are kind and compassionate, the facilities are superb and the food good.
As soon as my mother moved in my father wanted to join her. The home were able to accommodate them both, despite their very different needs. Although they had their own rooms on different floors, which was necessary due to their choice and my mother's dementia, they spent the days together.
Activities are on offer every day, screenings in the cinema, a library, quiet room, lounge and Bistro.
We are confident that if we were concerned about anything Lynne's door is always open or we could talk to any member of staff and it would be resolved.
The end of life care for my mother was exceptional and staff provided compassionate support to my father.

We have no regrets that we chose Penhurst Gardens.

Our Father initially went to Penhurst for a week's respite, and after extending this for several more weeks, the decision was made for him to stay on a permanent basis.
We are so grateful to Lynne and her team being so accommodating whilst we came to a decision around this. We have been very impressed with the level of care given and all the staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. It gives us great peace of mind to know there is round the clock nursing care should it be needed, with an amazing team of staff to provide nursing and personal care, activities, excellent food and to keep the home so clean and welcoming.

It's lovely to know we can pop in at any time to visit and always receive a warm welcome.

Overall Experience

I feel Mum is well cared for. The staff look after her really well even when she hes challenging behaviour. I no longer have a guilt feeling that she is in a care home the staff have helped me with this, I know she is cared for and kept safe, I'm kept informed if anything changes with her health, I'm really pleased with the care she receives. Thank you to all the staff. I really appreciate all the hard work you do.

Review of Wiltshire Heights Care Home from Penelope B (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Following a serious fall and an extended stay in 2 hospitals Mum has moved to WH for a period of respite care while we assess if she might be able to return home at some stage in the future.
The team at WH have been amazing from the first conversation and throughout Mum's extended stay. They have been totally on the ball - proactive, flexible, supportive, communicative with both Mum and me.
The accommodation - rooms, communal areas, restaurants, grounds are all excellent thanks to Charlie, Sally and the housekeeping team.
I would like to call out in particular Jas, Shirley, Rosanne, Donna and India but everyone has been tremendous. I very much hope Mum will stay on permanently at WH because I know she will be safe and well cared for.

Thank you all for everything you have done for both of us and continue to do.
