My mum, a resident of Tonbridge House, and my family have been very impressed by the superb entertainment organised there.
From Christmas singing with fizz and delicious food, to St Patrick's Day Irish dancing displays, and most recently, a wonderful Mother's Day tea party to rival a posh restaurant!
We enjoy every special event and look forward to the VE Day 80th party in May! Every event is carefully managed by the hardworking, amazing entertainment sisters who spread joy and cheer to all! Thank you.

Savernake View Care Home

from Stephen D (Son of Resident) published on 21 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Savernake has a warm and very friendly atmosphere. The staff are all very helpful and welcoming. The facilities are well maintained and the rooms and social areas are all well decorated and clean. Overall, both inside and outside the home is in good order and has a mist positive feel compared to many
others thatch have visited. The medical staff are attentive and keep a good eye on the residents. On the basis of the welcome, the first month's experience and the strong showing by the staff, I would happily recommend Savernake to anybody looking for residence for their elderly relatives.

The activities staff are amazing and so inventive with their themes for the parties. They are always so pleased to see family members. The food the kitchen provides for these occasions

Wiltshire Heights Care Home

from S P (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum moved to Wiltshire Heights last November and has improved in both her physical and mental health since being there. The reassuring presence of kind staff has meant she feels safe and cared for. She has her own furniture, ornaments and pictures in her room, making it feel like home. She is a gardener
and can help maintain the gardens, giving her purpose and an interest. She makes good use of the communal rooms and the various activities and outings that are provided. Wiltshire Heights is helping her come to terms with the loss of independence that older age brings.

from Alan E (Husband of Resident) published on 16 April 2025

This is more like a hotel than a care home. The rooms the patients have are of a good size and with its own full facilities. Food is of high quality. Staff show good empathy with patients and there is a very good staff/patient ratio. Staff are very welcoming to visitors and greet us by name. Although
it is 10 miles away from home and not the cheapest, my family and I decided it was the best place for her. She is very happy here.

My mother arrived at Tonbridge House in November 2024. Right from the start she was made to feel comfortable and welcome. She has found all members of staff to be kind and helpful, and all queries from myself and my wife on various matters have been answered promptly and efficiently.
Her en suite room
is light and pleasant and is always kept spotlessly clean, as are all the attractive common areas of the care home and the gardens.
At mealtimes, there is a choice of dishes with the option of a lighter or snack meal if this is preferred. All have been enjoyed.
My thanks to all concerned for facilitating my mother's transition to living in residential care.

I had been struggling to care for my husband's deteriorating Alzheimer's and really needed a break. I was so lucky to find Barley Manor, brand new with wonderful facilities so close to home. All the staff were welcoming, helpful and so empathetic. I was anxious about how he would settle in, and it took
a few days, but thanks to the kind and supportive staff he eas happy there and even joined in the activities.
Thank you so much.

Lincroft Meadow Care Home

from N S (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 April 2025

Mum has been at Lincroft Meadow Care Home since February when she stayed for respite care when Dad went into hospital. Unfortunately, Dad passed away and Mum's stay became long-term. We cannot praise the staff enough for helping Mum who has dementia to settle in at what has been a very difficult time.
The care and kindness shown is fantastic. We were worried about Dad's funeral but the staff were amazing. They reserved a quiet area for family members to meet beforehand and thoughtfully provided refreshments. A staff member also discreetly attended the service in case we needed support with Mum and was there to welcome her back afterwards. This took a lot of the worry out a difficult day. It is a relief to the family to know Mum is being so well cared for. There are lots of lovely activities organised at the home and we appreciate the staff taking the trouble to gently encourage Mum to join in. If we need to talk anything over, there is always someone available. Thank you Lincroft.

Avondale Care Home

From the moment we were shown round, my daughter and I knew there was no doubt this was the place where my husband should spend his last days. From the management right through to the carers, the care & support were outstanding. Unfortunately he was not able to fully appreciate the activities as he
was mostly bed bound. It was a great comfort to us he was in safe hands for his last 3 months.

Hartfield House Care Home

from C A (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 March 2025

My mother was there from October 2024 to January 2025. The care she received was sub standard. The carers were OK, but there weren't enough of them so she didn't receive the care she should have. She had recurring UTIs because they didn't retest her and when they did they lost the results twice. At
no time did a doctor see her even though we requested it. There was no help integrating with other residents. It was a very lonely place for her. We actually ended up paying for someone to go in twice a week to care for her! She ended up with very bad back pain but still didn't call a doctor or get an X-ray. She was taken to hospital when it got so bad and she died 8 days later of a UTI, kidney problems and sepsis.
The regional director was looking in to the problems, and hopefully they are better, but I don't know if it's improved.
I wish my mother had never entered Hartfield House. I'm really not sure how you know whether a home is going to be good before someone becomes a resident.

Reply from Matthew Anstee-Brown, Regional Director at Hartfield House Care Home

We continue take the utmost pride in the care we provide at Hartfield House and are sorry that you felt this way about the overall care your mother received during her time with us. We proactively investigated all concerns that were raised and gained positive feedback on the changes that had been implemented while your mother was still living with us. We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to you and your family at this difficult time. Should you wish to discuss this further please do get in touch.

From my first visit to the home, and each time I visit my mum, I am always impressed with the efficiency, friendliness and professionalism of all the staff. It gives me great comfort to see my mum happy and joining in with the activities and eating good quality food. I know every day she is safe and
well cared for. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommended to anyone.
