Cotswold Gate Care Home

from Gillie L (Respite Resident) published on 8 July 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I was given a recommendation to come to Cotswold Gate following a knee operation. Before my operation I visited and I knew immediately it would suit my needs. My family live in different areas of the UK, all have full time jobs and I didn't want them to be concerned about me after leaving the hospital.
I haven't been disappointed.
I have an attractive room leading iinto a garden area, it's immaculate, beautifully appointed and decorated. From the minute I arrived I have received all the necessary care I need. The staff are hugely kind, patient, interesting, and nothing is too much trouble. I can ask for meals in my room or join others in the dining room.
There is a programme of activities which are voluntary. During my first weekend there was a delightful celebration barbecue held in the beautiful gardens, all enjoyed by the residents.
I cannot speak more highly of my experience. Thank you.

My husband was a resident in Prestbury House for a period of 6 months. During his stay he received excellent care from staff. Every member of staff treated him with dignity and compassion and his needs were met promptly and without fuss. My daughter and I, as well as my husband, were made feel very
welcome and part of the care home family and we could not have hoped for a better home for my husband.

Cotswold Gate Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I am a regular visitor to Cotswold Gate Care Home as a friend is a resident. I am local so this can be at anytime during the day. No matter what time I arrive I am greeted by name and made to feel welcome.
The Home is beautifully decorated yet has a very homely feel.
My friend takes part in a number
of activities every day which stretches her physically and mentally including baking and flower arranging which she thoroughly enjoys.
What is really nice is the inclusion of the Bistro where we can sit with a cuppa having a good natter, which quite often includes other residents or members of staff as they always interact as they pass through or pull up a chair for a longer chat. The staff always acknowledge the residents and visitors as they pass by.
The home is feels very secure and everyone is looked after in all aspects: care, activities, catering and socialising. I have no concerns about her whatsoever and would highly recommend.

I came to visit my mum this afternoon, and she was sitting in her favourite place on the first floor balcony with a huge grin on her face. She had been listening to some music being played in the garden below, for BBQ afternoon. She said it was really lovely. My mum has dementia and is very challenging
most of the time. It was lovely to find her so relaxed and really enjoying herself. As I missed the BBQ, Sabina very kindly got me some wraps and cake. Not only is my mum looked after really well, but so am I! It makes all the difference. The staff are always there to help and to listen, which is such a huge help. I don't feel alone.

I came here to visit an old friend, and the lady at reception was ever so welcoming, professional and attentive to all details. She was never stopping picking up the phone, assisting visitors and residents. Tanya provides an excellent service to both residents and visitors, and her attention to detail
is superb. She is always with a welcoming smile on her face, and her mannerism is so professional yet so caring and loving. The representation of the care home with her at the front desk is beautifully completed and assured.

Barley Manor Care Home

from A A (Respite Resident) published on 6 July 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Overall my two week stay for post-Operation rehabilitation was a very positive experience.
My room was in a very good decorative and clean state, with plenty of draw/hanging space for clothes.
The Carers and Nurses were very friendly, helpful and obliging, responding quickly day & night when I pressed
the call button. The Admin staff were friendly and cheerful too.
I am used to a Mediterranean type diet, so would have appreciated more fresh vegetables.
The room was a bit noisy from the trains going past outside, although shutting the windows eradicated most of the outside sound. My room was situated outside the Carers desk/station, which meant that whenever other residents pressed their call buttons, there was a persistent and recurrent buzzing sound, which did decrease when my door was closed, but could be disturbing at night.
Reply from Narcis Militaru, Home Manager at Barley Manor Care HomeThank you for your feedback. It is great to hear your overall experience was positive, and I will be sure to look into the other points you have raised. Do visit us again soon for coffee and a catch up!

Lincroft Meadow Care Home

Mum has been at Lincroft for 8 months since losing her husband of 67 years. The team at Lincroft have gone the extra mile to help her settle.
The staff are open, honest and react to every request regardless of the size.
The family atmosphere within the home makes it a joy to visit. We often join
activities as a family and have made many friends within the Lincroft community.
A huge turning point in Mums transition has been the 1-1 trips out with the activities team. I never believed my Mum would be telling me she had been to a coffee shop in Banbury for the first time at 92. Just one of several trips this year.
I cannot find enough words to convey my thanks.
Reply from Elaine Ratcliffe, Home Manager at Lincroft Meadow Care HomeIt is wonderful to hear such inspiring and positive feedback - thank you. I am thrilled we are able to provide your mum with these experiences.

I visited my cousin today expecting to see him in bed as he usually was at home but what a surprise I had to find him amongst people he hadn't met before but speaking to them as if they were old friends. He was a bit of a mischievous child in the nicest sense of the word and all that personality was
back.He even performed one of his magic tricks again for me and my husband you and your staff have performed a miracle, oh he may have his off days but so do we all.My whole experience today was fantastic I live in North Wales and feel much happier seeing him so well and happy after seeing him in your care all the staff I saw were so good with him and us Thank you all for giving him his life back

Another good review for this wonderful home to show how they care for relatives as well as residents. I celebrated my birthday with a sit down Sunday lunch in the private dining room together with 7 other members of my family. It was lovely for my husband, a resident, to be included in this family gathering.
Darren did us proud with a lovely traditional Sunday lunch, and produced a wonderful birthday cake which was quite unexpected. An example of how the staff at Tonbridge House always go the extra mile.
Reply from Theresa Steed, Home Manager at Tonbridge House Care HomeThank you for your thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable birthday celebration at Tonbridge House and that your husband was able to participate in this significant occasion. We look forward to continuing to create meaningful memories together.

My father in law has been so well looked after and nurtured. The food is excellent. Staff are very friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them. He really has been receiving the very best of care. His room is comfortable & v.clean and always smells fresh. The care is first class.
From fresh flowers on the dining room tables down to the lovely cafe area with delicious patries & biscuits and help yourself coffees & teas, all well thought out in this beautiful purpose built efficiently run care home.

I know the care sector very well. As I also have disabled children, where the care has been abysmal in care placements.

I have to say the staff have been very supportive of my mother's needs, always very welcoming.

I look at all the little interactions, which sometimes people miss. But, I have

to say this is a very compassionate place, who also obviously treat their staff well and have good management. A place is only as good as the staff regardless of decor, it's the staff that count. At present my mother has medium dementia, I really do hope this will be a placement which will be her home until the end.
It is very clean also, which shows the standard of care, smells nice and clean, lovely food options available, over and above and access to great activities, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
