My mum is unable to communicate so this review is my own experience. It has been an extremely turbulent 12 months for us both, but all of the staff have been wonderful. Everyone has worked hard to help Mum communicate and everyone has been a huge comfort and support to me. Thank you to everyone at Penhurst
Gardens for helping us work through a challenging time. Not sure how I would cope without you.

My mother is being cared for with the most professional and kind staff who understand her challenges and respect her wishes and keep her dignity.
I cannot express how grateful her family are to see her so happy given how frustrated she sometimes gets with everyday life.
Staff are the key ingredient
but facilities are excellent and the variety of activities keep her mind alert and mixing with other residents also helps her disposition.

My husband was very well cared for in his last illness. We are both treated with kindness and compassion and our wishes considered wherever possible.
There were one or two small issues which were swiftly dealt with. There were 4 nurses whose care was outstanding and we were always pleased when they
were on duty and the management team were compassionate and kind. Overall, were more than satisfied with the room and care we both received and my husband died in peace.

Mum has dementia and is not able to safely walk, she is very frail 97 year old! I made a special request to entertainment staff (Kelly) for mum and I have to a minibus trip out to Kent - not currently visited. All arrangements were made, liaison between care staff, minibus helper and importantly Kelly
was excellent. Mum and I successfully went on this trip, mum was thrilled at being out of the home and we had a lovely trip, although it did rain. I cant thank Kelly enough or her work and effort in achieving this, very well done!

Chiltern Grange Care Home

from Ed L (Husband of Resident) published on 24 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The care my wife has recieved over the past 9 months from the staff has been consistantly genuine which is very reassuring, she was previously in another care home where the staff were less interested in the residents.

The enthusiasm and direction from the management team provides a positive envoirenment

which is reflected by the staff in all parts of the home.

There are a range of facilities and and common rooms in the building providing alternative places which the residents and relatives can use, and very pleaseant gardens which means that residents can enjoy outside space and fresh air.

The residents rooms are spacious en-suite and well laid out.

It is not easy being parted from my wife but there is no difficulty seeing her whenever I want to visit., and most other visiting relatives of residents seem relaxed and comfortable to chat to which adds to a pleasant and natural atmosphere.

Reply from Jemimah Guinto, Home Manager at Chiltern Grange Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your thoughts about the care your wife has received over the past nine months with us. It's heartwarming to hear that our staff's genuine approach has made a positive impact on your experience. It is an honour to care for your wife.

Mum has been resident at Tonbridge House for the past 18 months, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the quality of care she has received. She first arrived very unwell after a hospital stay, having lost a significant amount of weight - she has been nursed back to stable health. The staff have
shown compassion, professionalism and genuine dedication to her well-being. Throughout this time mum has regained strength and is thriving in a supportive, safe environment. The team here not only provide excellent medical and personal care, but they also create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like family.
Reply from Gerard Balo, Home Manager at Tonbridge House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review of Tonbridge House. Mum went into Penhurst Gardens when she knew she was very ill, in fact she only had a few weeks to live. She felt that she was treated well by the staff. Her room was pleasant, clean and well-maintained. The only reason for marking down the review is that there was a data breach where her details were
sent to a 3rd party, however this was dealt with very professionally. Food was good, although she could eat very little. As a family, we felt happy that she was in the best place for her final days.
Reply from Lynne Elliott, Home Manager at Penhurst Gardens Care HomeThank you for taking a moment to leave us a review during this difficult time. It was an honour to have your mum with us and be able to provide her with comfort and care during her final days. I must once again apologise for the data breach; we have since taken measures to ensure such a situation does not occur in the future.

Savernake View Care Home

Mum has been a resident since June 25 after a speedy admission due to a change of circumstance. We were HUGELY impressed from the moment we walked in. At the show round, having identified Mum has a cochlear implant and her right ear is the best ear for her to hear, the LOVELY lady showing us round made
sure Mum could hear her by remembering to talk to her good ear. We were sold on this alone.
She never wanted to be in a home, but sadly circumstances have meant she has had no option. Despite this she is incredibly happy with a lovely room overlooking the garden and the staff are top notch in their care of her, from reception to management. As her children my brother and I could not be happier knowing that she is so supported and cared for. It feels very much like home to us now too everytime we visit and this is exactly the atmosphere that we wanted her to be in. She has frequent visitors and they all tell us exactly the same, just how lovely everyone is and so welcoming.
Reply from Rachael Khan-Lowe, Home Manager at Savernake View Care HomeThank you for your fantastic feedback. It is great to hear your mum has settled well into life at Savernake View. I will be sure to share your feedback with our team.

Haddon Hall Care Home

My mother has stayed at Haddon Hall for respite care four times, the most recent lasting just over 3 weeks. She says that she is very well looked after. The room is large and pleasant, and everywhere seems clean. I have not spent a lot of time in the home, so some of my answers are guesswork, but I
think I would know if things were not up to scratch. I feel safe leaving her in the homes care.

Upton Mill Care Home

Since my mother moved into Upton Mill she has visibly improved in both physical and mental health. My initial feelings of guilt and anxiety about my mother moving from her home of 50 years were gradually, then fully eased, as she settled into her new and chosen home. The staff are caring kind and supportive.
They are also aware of how such a move affects close relatives, providing support there too. My mother has become more mobile and found friends, at the age of 97, when she had previously become lonely and sad. Thank you.
Reply from Alyson Day, Home Manager at Upton Mill Care HomeThank you for your heart-warming feedback. We completely understand how difficult it can be to make the decision to move a loved one into a care home, so I am glad to hear you felt supported by our team throughout the process.

My mum was discharged to Falkland Grange after spending seven weeks in hospital after a fall that required a femur mend and hip replacement. After the first week, my mum had made friends and said how good the carers were. She looked great and was very happy. Since then, Mum has grown in confidence,
she has put on weight, chats with the other residents and participates in activities and outings. She says everyone is very kind. Knowing that Mum is eating well, getting her medication at the right time and benefitting from 24 hour support has been a huge relief to me.

Wiltshire Heights Care Home

from Jo F (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 December 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The thing that really stood out for me when my Mum moved into Wiltshire Heights was just how very lovely the staff are - all of them; the reception team, the manager, the Client Services Manager, Home Manager all the catering team and every member of the care team from the youngest and newest to the
most experienced. It was so hard leaving Mum - we live the other side of the country and are about to be out of the country for a family wedding so it was a leap of faith that she would be so well cared for but she has only found kindness amongst the staff. The food is great too - and Mum is already saying that she is going to put on pounds (which she could certainly do with doing!)
The only thing it isn't - is her own home - which she still misses very much - but they are doing all they can to make it a happy and safe environment for her and feel as near as they possibly can to home for her (which we appreciate very much), and it is very early days (less than a week!)
Reply from Charlie Osgood, Home Manager at Wiltshire Heights Care HomeThank you for your kind feedback. I am glad to hear your mum is starting to find her feet at Wiltshire Heights.
