The staff are excellent, especially team leader Sam who gives me a shower every two days and trims my beard. He also solves any problems with my mobile phone.

My husband has settled in well. He enjoys the entertainment, especially the musical events and visits out.

It is always clean and immaculate everywhere with fresh flowers each week. The staff are kind and caring. The bistro area is lovely, with access to the garden with lots of seating when the sun shines!

My mother is enjoying life at Hartfield House. She is safe, warm and being well looked after, all of which is so important at 90 years of age and while suffering from dementia. There is a lovely, friendly atmosphere in the home. It is bright, modern and spacious, in a quiet tucked-away location with a lovely garden that we can enjoy in the summer months. The carers and all the staff are kind, thoughtful and very attentive to the residents' needs. There are plenty of daily activities on offer for those able to participate, including outings on the minibus.

My mother has dementia and spent 2 months in respite care. The time, energy and care taken to settle into the home and new structure of her days was exceptional. My mother was clearly settled and content in her surroundings. The home played a big part in getting medications improved and better suited to her condition. My family are very grateful to the staff for making my mother's stay a positive experience.

My mother has lived at Hartfield House for 8 months, and it makes so so relieved to hear her say how much she loves the place and the people - both staff and residents.
I personally cannot fault the home. Everything is designed to make the residents comfortable, occupied, very well fed and feeling like this is their home.

I can rest easily knowing my mother is safe, looked after with dignity, and genuinely cared for.

Since becoming a resident after a few hospital trips, Mum has started gaining weight, and her mental health has improved along with her strength, allowing her to move around more independently, which was a struggle before and had to use a wheelchair most of the time. Having Mum in Hartfield House gives me peace of mind knowing she is cared for and safe. She is also having her medication regularly. The staff are all very approachable and helpful. Thank you to all for caring for my mum and making me feel welcome and part of the Hartfield House family; it means so much.

I have recently spent time using Hartfield House for respite following surgery. The care has been outstanding, and I have made a lot of improvement as a result of the wrap-around care I have received. I have met some lovely residents and enjoyed their company, and equally, the staff have been very caring. All the staff know the names of residents and greet you when they see you.

Whenever I visit, I am always very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the care and respect the carers show to the residents. There is a very happy atmosphere, and the food is excellent. There are always fresh home made cakes/biscuits available for residents and visitors to help themselves. There are a good range of activities for residents to participate in, which they are greatly encouraged to do.

My wife has been in Hartfield House for nearly 2 years. She has Alzheimer's. Before choosing Hartfield, I visited a number of homes but none came close to providing the care, attention, and facilities that I wanted for my wife. It has taken some time for her to settle in but she, with the help of the nurses, made good progress with the activities on offer.

My mother was there from October 2024 to January 2025. The care she received was sub standard. The carers were OK, but there weren't enough of them so she didn't receive the care she should have. She had recurring UTIs because they didn't retest her and when they did they lost the results twice. At no time did a doctor see her even though we requested it. There was no help integrating with other residents. It was a very lonely place for her. We actually ended up paying for someone to go in twice a week to care for her! She ended up with very bad back pain but still didn't call a doctor or get an X-ray. She was taken to hospital when it got so bad and she died 8 days later of a UTI, kidney problems and sepsis.
The regional director was looking in to the problems, and hopefully they are better, but I don't know if it's improved.

I wish my mother had never entered Hartfield House. I'm really not sure how you know whether a home is going to be good before someone becomes a resident.
