The staff at Upton Mill were very kind, understanding and professional during an extremely worrying period of time for my family and I. My Mum moved into Upton Mill for 2 weeks respite care at very short notice. Correna was easy to contact and returned my calls promptly. She answered all my concerns
and reassured me that my Mum would be well looked after. On arrival at Upton Mill, my Mum and I were made to feel very at ease. The staff gave us all the time in the world to explain our situation and make us feel comfortable. Upton Mill is a very smart nursing home with a lovely bustling atmosphere. The decor is beautiful and family and visitors are made very welcome, especially by the extremely lovely receptionist. My Mum was well looked after during her two weeks at Upton Mill. She had a lovely bedroom and joined in some of the activities, encouraged by the events organiser. My Mum's only complaint was the food which she felt was disappointing.

Mum (93) stayed for respite care for 15 days, after 3 nights in hospital. All staff were helpful friendly and very supportive. Mum commented how much she appreciated their friendliness and care.
Although only staying for a few days Mum was very quickly brought into the community and made to feel very
welcome and as "at home" as possible. Mum has now been diagnosed with mild dementia, so it was important that the right level of care was provided. The care staff at Upton Mill were very professional in ascertaining her needs and putting an effective care plan in place. The plan allowed Mum to recover from her hospital stay sufficiently to return home.


It was pleasing to hear Mum praise everyone, the nursing staff, the cleaning team, the catering team and the activities team. The only people she didn't really interact much with day to day were the admin team, but my sister and I can't praise them enough either. So helpful. Everyone.


I would highly recommend Upton Mill.

i visited a family friend who is currently in having some respite care. what i was expecting and who i saw was very different. the home is stunning, staff friendly and the atmosphere was really lovely. Definitely would recommend it if people asked.

I can only give high praise for the help and care that Upton Mill have shown in organising my mother's move into care during a very stressful time. Extremely professional with a very friendly approach. The home is always clean and welcoming for visitors, we are only a few weeks in and mum is settling
into what she described today as a very busy life. All the staff are absolutely lovely, bringing a lot of joy to everyone.

On visiting my grandmother on several occasions. I have found Upton Mill, to be well run with lovely facilities for both residents and visitors. All the staff are exceptional, kind, caring and so helpful. I feel confident after each visit, my grandmother is safe and well looked after.

I needed to get some respite care for my elderly mother. The manager and CSM were brilliant in their advice, professionalism, calmness and support. We were so lucky that a room was immediately available, and within 3 days of my initial contact, my mother was able to move in. Her care has enabled her
to come back home to live, although I would have dearly loved her to stay as a permanent resident to enjoy a far higher quality of life than she now has.

Upton Care Home is truly exceptional. The facility is spotless and tidy, but it's the atmosphere that really stands out-it is so friendly and welcoming.
My grandfather loves the staff here; he feels safe, genuinely listened to, and is treated with so much dignity. The nursing care is amazing, the activities
are fun and engaging, and the food is a solid 5 stars! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Upton to any family looking for the best care for their loved ones.

Our experience could not have been better in difficult circumstances. I would particularly praise Teresa on reception and Correna, the manager for exceptional service. Our father went in for respite care with a plan to become permanent. A health crisis meant he only stayed a few days before dying in
hospital. The home was incredibly flexible and supportive.

The one area where further improvement could be made for her is greater involvement in trips and outings. However

My stepmother has only been here for a short while. but I have visited on several occasions and the facilities are vary good and well maintained. in fact, everything is very clean and tidy. Most of all , the staff are very friendly and kind and helpful

My mum is currently on respite and will be going permanent soon, I was so weary of my mum going into a home but Upton Mill really put my mind at ease with everything, the staff are amazing in every way and I feel like they are my other little family already and my mum absolutely loves it there as we
were so sure she wouldn't like it but they have all made her feel so welcome and I can start to get some sleep knowing she's safe and happy.. I have been to other care homes but Upton mill stands out above all the rest of them. Highly recommended. Plus my dogs get treats and cuddles from everyone..

My Mother has been a resident for several years now and I am pleased to say that the care, compassion, dining and social events are impressive and continually being discussed and tweeked/improved at resident/relative meetings with Home Manager Alyson Day and staff to provide the best experience possible

Dad has been a resident here for nearly two years. During this time the home has improved on what was already a very high standard and must now be ranked among the best. The staff are always very friendly, nothing is too much trouble, and they all have a good positive attitude. The food is of a high
standard with a good variety served in a very well laid out restaurant area. Christmas entertainment was very good with a large amount of activities taking place to keep everybody happy and feel in the festive mood.
Christmas presents were given to the residents which were a nice touch, you could see someone had taken time to actually pick the presents individually. Activities have really been stepped up a notch during the last year with a large choice to choose from.
Moving a loved one into a care home is always going to be a tough decision, but knowing Dad is at Upton Mill has made it a lot more bearable.
