Aged 89, I have just returned home after a 9 week stay in Elizabeth Gardens following hospitalisation in Spain with a broken wrist. The thought of staying in a care home worried me, but being weak and temporarily disabled I felt I had no choice. In the event, the experience was most enjoyable and I
felt sorry to leave. The staff were wonderful, and with facilities such as the gym I was able to work my way back to being fully independent again. Being a stickler for timekeeping, my only complaint is that meals were frequently delayed beyond the advertised time. However, the food when it did arrive was always good.

From the moment we engaged with Elizabeth Gardens the team were nothing but professional, helpful and more importantly caring.
We knew just by seeing the care level at the home and warmness of staff that that this was the right place for dad.
A huge thank you to the team, particularly the client
service manager for their support in making this move possible.

We were looking for somewhere for my sister for respite care following emergency major surgery. When she arrived she needed help with most things but within a week she was able to walk, shower and do normal day to day things herself. The care given was exceptional. The home itself is exceptional and
of a high standard. I am so grateful to have found this place and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Reply from Linda Simpson, Home Manager at Elizabeth Gardens Care HomeThank you for taking a moment to leave us a review. I am glad to hear we were able to support you and your sister during this difficult time. It was an honour to assist in her recovery.

I was very wary at coming to a care home, but after 5 weeks in hospital I couldn't walk unaided and was very weak. The care home has given me confidence back and looked after me excellently. I cannot thank them enough. You certainly have changed my opinion on care homes. Keep up the good work.

The entire home is furnished beautifully, always smells delightful and is visably clean. All of the staff are incredibly welcoming to visitors and I have personally found them to be wonderful in all respect to the service user. Making them feel welcome, reassured, cared for and feeling like they truly
matter. It feels like a very safe and caring environment where no task or request is too big. We are invited to be involved in absolutely everything and comfort and happiness always ensured and there is always something going on. We love visiting our friend and everyone at Avondale. I could not recommend it nearly enough and do so eagerly!
Sadly I don't remember everyone's names as I feel they all deserve recognition. but I would like to especially spotlight..

My family and I are beyond grateful for the care given to my Mum during her two years at Avondale. She loved the varied activities, the food (especially the cake) and above all the staff on her unit who couldn't do enough for her. They always went above and beyond to ensure Mum was as comfortable and
happy as she could be. We have wonderful memories of our many family visits. From management, through reception, care staff, chefs and housekeepers, nothing was too much trouble to make our visits happy ones. As Mum's needs changed, staff responded quickly and professionally to ensure that she received the best and most appropriate care. We will never forget the kindness of those who nursed Mum through her final days. Their skill, experience and compassion ensured that she died peacefully with my brother and me at her side.
Thank you all.

Father came in initially on respite and subsequently chose to stay. Staff and care is excellent with fantastic patience with my father. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much. We chose this home having had my mother here previously and would recommend going forward.

We could not have wished for such a pleasant, comfortable and welcoming care home. The treatment and care given to my sister were wonderful and dignified. The staff were excellent, both to my sister and family, always welcoming and smiling. Her room was lovely, well-kept and food was of excellent quality.
Nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend Porthaven to anyone. Thank you for your care, especially in her final days, to her and us.

Being a lift engineer I've worked in many care homes. You get used to the norm (I thought).Yet having visited my relative today 16th March here at Chiltern Grange I couldn't believe the whole experience. What an amazing place. Spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff with time for everyone.
A

My Mum is 84 and diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The staff at Elizabeth Gardens have been wonderful. They are genuinely caring and kind. In my absence they care for my mother as if she were their own. The building itself is beautifully decorated and totally practical. Joining in with various activities
is very much encouraged. My Mum has taking up flower arranging and exercise classes which she would never have done before!! She loves all the activities bingo, visits with young children, singing and many more. Recently my Mum was taken ill, the way the care home dealt with the issue was exceptional and this was recognised by the ambulance service. The dining facilities and quality of food available is also excellent and as visitors we often book ourselves in to join Mum for lunch and a glass of wine. The staff literally cannot do enough. As you can see from this glowing review, I would highly recommend. Also, just to make life easy, it has plenty of parking !!!

We had to look for care home as the one mum was in was closing down. Jackie, the Client Service Manager was so warm and welcoming. Jackie showed us around the home which was beautifully decorated in an autumnal theme. We were never made to feel rushed. Mum moved in shortly afterwards and she is so happy
at Chiltern Grange. Every time we visit mum , she tells us how happy she is to be living there. The rooms are spacious, the staff are amazing, friendly, attentive and caring and mum says the food is 5 stars. Looking forward to the warmer weather so we can sit out in the garden. Thank you to everyone who takes such good care of mum.

We placed my mother in law in the care of Woodland Manor after she fell ill before Christmas and taken to hospital. From the very first day my mother in law has been looked after with so much care empathy and dedication from absolutely everyone in the care home . Special thanks to Carmen and Cristian
who helped so much in getting the placement at Woodksnd Manor and not forgetting the brilliant nurses on the Buckingham wing who are taking daily care of our mother in law especially Shannon and her colleagues. Woodland Manor has given us the family the respite we so greatly needed. We cannot recommend this care home highly enough

This is a comfortable, welcoming and efficient care home. My mum has been a resident here for nearly 2 years and she is very happy and very well looked after 24 hours of the day. Over that time the home have taken on board feedback and improvements/changes are evident so they act on, and encourage,
feedback which is a huge positive. The management are very visible and know the residents by name.
The decor is very relaxing and tasteful compared with other homes.
Activities are very good although I think more could be done here to engage residents in with more tailored activities in smaller groups. Example one group may be watching a film and another group, in a smaller area, doing some in chair exercises or painting or discussing the daily newspaper. I love the fact the carers get residents out into the communal lounge area as much as they can as well as eating together in the dining area.
Food/Drink is of a very high standard although I believe this could offer more variety.
Reply from Jemimah Guinto, Home Manager at Chiltern Grange Care HomeThank you for your feedback. It has been a joy and a pleasure to have your mum with us over the last two years, and I am glad she is happy at Chiltern Grange. We do our best to provide high-quality care, which involves taking the feedback of our residents and their loved ones on board, so it is great to hear you feel we do this well.
