The care my wife has recieved over the past 9 months from the staff has been consistantly genuine which is very reassuring, she was previously in another care home where the staff were less interested in the residents.

The enthusiasm and direction from the management team provides a positive envoirenment

which is reflected by the staff in all parts of the home.

There are a range of facilities and and common rooms in the building providing alternative places which the residents and relatives can use, and very pleaseant gardens which means that residents can enjoy outside space and fresh air.

The residents rooms are spacious en-suite and well laid out.

It is not easy being parted from my wife but there is no difficulty seeing her whenever I want to visit., and most other visiting relatives of residents seem relaxed and comfortable to chat to which adds to a pleasant and natural atmosphere.

Reply from Jemimah Guinto, Home Manager at Chiltern Grange Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your thoughts about the care your wife has received over the past nine months with us. It's heartwarming to hear that our staff's genuine approach has made a positive impact on your experience. It is an honour to care for your wife.

I act as Power of Attorney for an elderly friend who had suffered a fall at home. Following her operation, we needed a care home for respite and recovery. The management team were extremely welcoming and helpful in providing a room on short notice. The team have been very supportive in providing help
and making life that bit easier for my friend while she needs help.

My Mum had previously stayed in Avondale for short periods of respite while we went on holiday, and she - and we - were always very happy with her care. Mum particularly appreciated the activities, the meals and the beautiful decor of the rooms and communal areas.

When her health declined rapidly

during the summer and she needed residential care, we were so glad that there was availability at Avondale for Mum. The management did all they could to find familiar accommodation for her at short notice and even extended their regular admission hours to be able to receive her from hospital. The same staff whose company she had enjoyed in past visits nursed her compassionately and attentively during her final weeks, always willing to go the extra mile. They cared for us and comforted us too, when it was clear Mum's life was coming to a close.

We cannot thank the staff enough for all they did. Nurses, reception, management, caterers and especially Yellow - you know who you are. Thank you.

Reply from Antonios Loumousiotis, Home Manager at Avondale Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind review. It was our pleasure to care for your mum - please know that you are always welcome here at Avondale Care Home. I look forward to sharing your feedback with our team.

Woodland Manor Care Home held a World Food Day with a Turkish theme, complete with traditional music and dance. The food as ever was simply delicious, a good selection of traditional Turkish dishes which were enjoyed by all in attendance. The combination of traditional music and dancer worked well with
plenty of enthusiastic engagement by residents and visitors alike resulting in dancing, drum beating, clapping and a lot of smiling faces. In all a very well organised activity that proved to be popular with a good attendance by residents, all of which was well supported by staff and visitors. Thanks Woodlands for an uplifting afternoon!

My wife was a resident at Avondale for 18+ months up to July 2025. Putting someone so close into care brings many extreme emotions and concerns. Avondale could not have handled our situation better. With respect, dignity and warmth. During this time, not only did they make my wife feel at home, but
they became a home from home for my family and I too. The people there are a credit to themselves. Management, staff and carers have become our friends. When my wife passed away, I felt a gratitude that her last days were spent in these surroundings. I will be eternally grateful.

We really couldn't have asked for better care for our mum while she was with you. We are very grateful for the care, compassion, thoughtfulness and patience shown by the wonderful team at Chiltern Grange, and for making my mum feel as welcome and comfortable as they possibly could. The family were
also made to feel very welcome whenever we visited and staff members took the time to get to know us. To know that our mum was being cared for so well brought us great comfort at what could have been a very difficult time for us all.
We would highly recommend Chiltern Grange.

When my Dad's dementia was advanced we had to find a local care home in Buckinghamshire where he would be well looked after. Having visited Chiltern Grange it was evident that we had found exactly the right place as it stood out head and shoulders above the rest. Not only was it situated in the Chiltern
Hills close to my family home with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and set in beautiful landscaped gardens, but the building was modern and spacious with well-appointed bedrooms, excellent communal living spaces, delicious nutritional meals, fun activities and regular entertainment. However, what makes Chiltern Grange really special are the people. Both the staff and volunteers are welcoming, friendly, warm, polite, compassionate, respectful and above all else exceedingly caring. My Mum was so impressed with the home that she has decided to live there permanently as well. Although sadly my Dad has now passed I take comfort from knowing my Mum could not be in safer hands.

We needed a care home for my 96 year old mother while her daily carer was away . However, Mum has always been very resistant to the idea of staying in a care home.
We chose Woodland Manor as it is very well set out, has lovely facilities and a good programme of activities. The first week mum was quite
unsettled but the staff were very kind and caring and mum settled into the rhythm of the home. As WM is near to where we live, mum appreciated seeing us more often. Being able to visit on any day, at any time is so helpful and visitors are made welcome.
The carers are good at checking in with mum but not too intrusive. She greatly appreciates their help with showering and dressing.
We are soon coming to the end of the respite period and we're delighted that mum has decided that she would like stay on permanently. This is due to the standard of care and cheerfulness of the staff. It's a great relief to us that she is receiving such quality 24 hour care.

My Father has been a resident at Chiltern Grange for a year now. He has Alzheimer's.
All the staff there are wonderful, every time we arrive we are met by happy smiling polite members of staff, who ask how we are and are willing to help us straight away.
The level of care, patience and compassion
my dad receives is incredible, the food is always delicious and the place is spotlessly clean.
When someone you love has this condition and you have to hand them over to strangers to be cared for it can be very distressing, but because of the care he is receiving we can all relax a bit. It really is so comforting for me, my dad's wife, his granddaughter, all the rest of my dad's family and his close friends, who visit on a regular basis.
I cannot thank every member of staff at Chiltern Grange enough for being the team they are.
