My experience is limited but overall I have a high regard for Barley Manor. In a new building it is stylishly decorated with many additional facilities such as a cafe, cinema, gym and hairdresser. There is also a beautiful garden. The staff are professional & caring. The food is good and meal times
are generally pleasant & relaxed. A good programme of entertainment & exercise is rn on a daily basis & there are trips out to e.g a National Trust. In summation a beautiful well run care home

All the staff at Barley Manor are so caring and very friendly. They always had a few minutes to chat. Food was all freshly cooked and good choices on the menu. I went on a great outing to Ely Cathedral.
I am looking forward to returning when a room is available

Excellent care, lovely decor, beautiful rooms, a friendly team and great food. Mum really enjoyed her trial stay at Barley Manor and is keen to make a permanent move. The cafe is a great hub and there are lots of activities.

Barley Manor is an excellent nursing home. From the emergency reception in January of my cousin with dementia to the present day the care, understanding and sympathy of all the staff has been exceptional. The design and furnishing of the whole home and gardens is aimed at comfort and stimulation. The
activities provided for residents presses the right buttons of memories and involvement. The integration of local surgery and nursing home care is exemplary. My cousin has found the comfort and care she needs. Well done, Barley Manor.

Was made most comfortable and welcome on my arrival and all arrangements ran smoothly. My room was pretty and spacious but above all staff were most helpful well trained and friendly. Lovely cinema and classes including keep fit. Skilled nursing to hand if required. My choice re activities, timing,
menu etc.; all so very reassuring for a potential full time resident. Friends welcome. My future decision to come here already made.

I have found Barley Manor to be very homely. The staff are all friendly. The food is varied and delicious. My favourite space is the coffee area. The gardens are delightful.

I think we are treated well and made to feel important which is good for moral. Everybody is extremely pleasant and helpful and I have enjoyed my sessions in the gym with a member of staff. The ladies who run activities are also very good at making mornings fun. Food is good and the theatre also makes
life interesting.

I had been struggling to care for my husband's deteriorating Alzheimer's and really needed a break. I was so lucky to find Barley Manor, brand new with wonderful facilities so close to home. All the staff were welcoming, helpful and so empathetic. I was anxious about how he would settle in, and it took
a few days, but thanks to the kind and supportive staff he eas happy there and even joined in the activities.

After I had been in hospital, my daughter and I looked at my having a period of rest and recuperation In a care home. We planned to visit Barley Manor.. Before this happened I had a fall and we decided to ask for a quick admission. The manager himself came to set up the move and to answer all our questions.
The move took place two days later and it was as easy as checking into an hotel. My ground floor single room with en-suite overlooked a peaceful garden area and it was of a good size. The building itself was very well provided with public rooms including lounges, dining room, hairdresser, cafe, cinema and gym. The food was of good quality especially the cakes and desserts and i could have had any of the meals as room service.
It's all about the quality of the staff. They were all friendly and very well trained for their roles and were responsive to any concerns. Nothing was too much trouble. The management is to be congratulated.
This sets the gold standard for carehomes.

After an extremely stressful past two months with the decline of my mother's Alzheimer's, it became apparent to myself and brothers that she would need to have 24-hour care. We searched around the area and viewed a few places and our last visit was to Barley Manor Care Home.
When we arrived, we had
a lovely, warm greeting from the client services manager, she showed us around, spoke to us of her own experiences with her own mother, which was very personal and open. We had a long discussion with her, which made our choice a whole lot easier.
My mother was discharged from hospital straight to Barley Manor, the transition was seamless, the staff were very welcoming and put her at ease.
She was adamant she didn't want to stay but with their attention to detail and the way the staff have listened to her needs, she is now settling in very well and even taking part in activities which is a joy to see for us all.
Her care has been exemplary. A great place for our mother to be.

The staff have been very attentive and caring.
They have strived to make my brother-in-law as comfortable as possible and he is settling in gradually.

Following a challenging time in hospital for my mum after a fall at home, we needed to find some local short-term respite care for her before returning home. The team were exceptionally welcoming from initial enquiry through to show around and Mum moving in.
Barley Manor Care Home is more than I could
have ever hoped for in care. After worrying for a long time, the step change from home to 24-hour care, I shouldn't have as the team has cared for Mum so well and now has stayed full-time. A beautiful home for a loved one putting both her and me at ease. Thank you.

Very welcoming environment from the moment one enters reception. Friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere, very clean. Resident's bedroom is spacious, spotless, including en-suite facility. Ability to personalise the room with pictures and possessions to make room more homely. Staff available to discuss

I needed to find a care home at very short notice for my father, I called the care home at 11 am and by 2 pm, everything was in place to receive him that night. We arrived late at night (around 11 pm) and were met by four members of staff who took care of everything, making him feel comfortable and
secure on his first night in a strange bed. It was an amazing feat by the team at a time when we desperately needed a home for Dad.
Since then, the care has been first-class at every level, from just looking after my father to taking care of his medical needs: all of the team are lovely, the facilities are first-class (think five-star hotel).
Putting my father into care was an immensely difficult decision: reflecting on it 2 weeks later he ls so happy there and thanked me for doing it; this is down to the amazing facilities and staff at the home without which I doubt he would be as happy as he is.

The family chose this home because of its proximity to hospital where my wife was being treated. The staff were all very kind and accommodating and flexible in meeting my wife's changing needs. It was lovely to see the staff working together as a team for the benefit and comfort of the residents and

Since moving here, he seemed to settle in very well and adapted to the new routine.
The staff, all of them, are very kind and friendly, they always have time to chat.
The room is lovely. The home is beautiful.
If there is an issue, there is always someone to listen and help.
Food is lovely most
of the time.
During the summer, mainly, but now as well, we have to find someone to unlock the door to be able to go out for a walk, which isn't always easy but understand why!

I am 86 and suddenly, through family circumstances, decided that I should be looked after in a Care Home. I wanted one near my home and was shown round five, staying for two weeks in one. However, as I was shown round Barley Manor Care Home, there was no choice. It felt so welcoming and comfortable
that I booked a room immediately. I am finding that I have many friends visiting as there are well used shops nearby and so many of the residents have friends in common. It is like having a large, happy family which includes the staff who are so willing to help and so caring.

I had, in the past year, started to consider whether it was sustainable as a 90-year-old to be living alone. I had a fall 6 weeks ago and broke my hip, resulting in a 4 week hospital stay. The hospital was pressing me to return home but while in hospital, I decided to move into residential care. My
daughter came to visit Barley Manor Care Home (they saw her at very short notice) and a room was available which I took on a respite basis. After a week at Barley Manor, the support and care (and friendship) I received from all brought me to the decision that I did need to be in residential care and that I wanted that to be at Barley Manor. There is a very friendly feel to this care home between both staff and residents and also the relatives of residents. I feel my dignity is considered always and I am receiving great care.

Hello, my name is Narcis, and I am the Home Manager here at Barley Manor Care Home.


I have worked in the senior care sector for almost ten years, before which I was a firefighter and a paramedic. I have been a qualified nurse since 2014, which is also the year I moved to England. Throughout my career, I have been a home manager at several other care providers.


Looking to the future, I am excited to form a reliable, strong and enthusiastic team who will work together to provide exceptional care and establish our home as a top choice in Cambridgeshire for nursing, residential, dementia and respite care.


Outside of work, I am a big fan of sports, particularly skiing, boxing, football and fishing. I also have two children aged six and one, who I like to spend as much of my spare time as possible with.

Hello, my name is Denise, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Barley Manor Care Home.


I have over 20 years of experience in the retirement sector, nine of which I spent managing a sales team.


Looking to the future, I am excited to work with a new team to successfully launch our home and see the positive results of everybody’s hard work. I hope to turn our home into one that sets the standard for nursing, residential, dementia and respite care in Cambridgeshire. More than anything, my goal is to ensure our residents are happy and live well in our care.


Outside of work, I sing in my local choir, do yoga and spend time with my three cats. I am also currently learning French, as I have a holiday home in Southern France!
