I came for 10 days respite stay. I have found the staff excellent, everyone of them couldn't have looked after me any better. Excellent choices at meal times, food was very nice. The home was welcoming and I have enjoyed the company of staff and other residents. I wouldn't hesitate to come back for
another stay.

My mother is very well looked after,
I have been very impressed with the care. The staff are extremely kind and relatives are made to feel welcome and communication is excellent. The food is wonderful and very well presented and portion sizes tailored to the needs of the individual.

Dad was accepted as an emergency care on a Friday afternoon and the manager & clinical staff were amazing. They treated a very confused and poorly man with great care and dignity. Dad has now been here over 6 weeks and is settled in a lovely room near to carers desk. The activities team involve hun
in lots of different things which helps him integrate. The care team are patient and always try to accommodate Dad's needs. Such a weight of my mind seeing him so well cared for.

My father was admitted to Cotswold Gate Care Home late as my mother who cares for him along with my husband and myself was having a total hip replacement. Respite for originally 2 weeks has been extended to just over 3. Dad has been cared for perfectly, the staff are all fantastic with such a warm,
caring and professional way. I cannot fault anything and thank everyone for looking after our Dad so well.

We were eager to move our relative into Pothaven Care. Our local Porthaven Home location was full and had a waiting list. We had limited time to relocate our relative from his previous care home in Newbury. The nearest Porthaven Care Home with availability was Cotsworld Gate Care Home, just over an
hour's drive away.
Cotsworld Gate is a newly built, modern care home with outstanding facilities and excellent staff. I was thrilled to discover this lovely gem. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, and from that day, our family felt welcomed, which continued throughout my relative's stay.
This care home felt like a five-star hotel, providing incredible care. As a family, we couldn't ask for more! Sadly, my relative passed away within a week of arriving due to his frailty and treatment from a previous care home. I am grateful he spent his final week receiving the correct care, love, respect, and dignity he deserved.
I highly recommend Cotsworld Gate Care Home. If you are looking for a great care home where both residents and their families are treated with respect and as individuals, please consider Cotswold Gate. You will be amazed, I certainly was!

Cotswold Gate accepted my mum for respite care at really short notice. They were extremely helpful and understanding.
It is a lovely new care home with a warm atmosphere and a light and airy modern decor. All the staff are friendly, kind and caring, and my mum is very well looked after.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.346)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.346) out of 10 for Cotswold Gate Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.954 for Cotswold Gate Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (103 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.954
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.392 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cotswold Gate Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.692
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
