My brother had to move from a residential care home to Rutland Manor Nursing Home as his dementia deteriorated and he had complex behavioural needs. The first time I visited he told me,"Everything is nice here". The carers soon got used to his ways and with loving care enabled him to settle quickly.
Everyone was kind and helpful to me whenever I visited and particularly in his short time on end of life care. I was present at his death and he and I were treated with great respect and affection.
Reply from Lee Langley, Home Manager at Rutland Manor Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing such a personal and heartfelt message. We are truly grateful that you took the time to reflect on your brother's care at Rutland Manor. It means a great deal to know that he felt comfortable and reassured so quickly, and that our team were able to understand his needs and support him with kindness and compassion. Your words about his end of life care are especially moving. It is a privilege for us to be there for residents and their families during such important and emotional moments, and we are deeply touched that you felt both you and your brother were treated with dignity, respect, and affection. My husband has Alzheimer' which is compounded by the fact he also suffers from Aphasia. I could no longer care for him at Home and other Homes were able to meet his needs. I despaired as his condition was deteriorating rapidly in the Care Home that he had been sent to - they offered no stimulation
and left him alone for hours. The relief that I felt when Rutland Manor agreed to take my husband can not be put into words. In just a week my husband is far less agitated and is enjoying his food now that he is given the care and attention that he deserves. The team at Rutland Manor are caring, attentive and compassionate. My husband is now being treated as a human being and not as a commodity, the carers treat him with dignity and affection and they are doing all that they can to understand his needs and what he likes. I now have peace of mind, knowing that he is being properly looked after and that I can visit him at any time has made a world of difference. Full marks to Rutland Manor
Reply from Lee Langley, Home Manager at Rutland Manor Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We are truly honoured that you entrusted Rutland Manor with your husband's care during what was clearly a very difficult and distressing time for you both. Your kind words mean a great deal to our entire team. We are pleased to hear that your husband is now more settled, enjoying his meals, and receiving the stimulation, care, and attention he deserves. Supporting individuals living with Alzheimer's and Aphasia requires understanding, patience, and compassion, and I am extremely proud of the way our team strives to treat every person with dignity, warmth, and respect. Providing person-centred care and ensuring families feel reassured and welcome are fundamental to our values. Knowing that you now have peace of mind and feel able to visit freely is especially important to us. Thank you again for your trust and recommendation. We look forward to continuing to support both you and your husband.

As a rapidly declining dementia sufferer it was decided Mum could no longer live independently at her home alone due to the round the clock safeguarding she needed. Pinxton Manor had a couple of spare rooms for us to view and choose for Mum which was really nice as it was important that Mum was in a
lovely, bright and sunny room with a view of the garden which is her happy place. Upon arrival Mum just wanted to go home instantly and didn't take her coat off for about 6hrs. It was the hardest thing for me to do and broke me doing it and I left thinking Mum would never settle. But due to the fabulous, understanding, caring and very patient staff, Mum began to settle so much quicker than we ever thought she would which gave us huge relief. Over the last 4 months, I've seen Mum smile, laugh and chat constantly, as I've never seen her before, thoroughly loves her meals and dances at every opportunity when music is on. The best move ever for Mum and I can't thank Pinxton Manor Staff enough
Reply from Jacki Perry, Operations Manager at Pinxton ManorThank you for such a lovely and heart felt review. You hear so many scary stories about nursing homes and the staff and yes I was a bit worried for my dad and him being immobile and bad with Alzheimer's and vascular dementia
But wow this place has been brilliant every member of staff we have met or spoken to have been friendly helpful and caring yes
caring this home for me has changed my perception on nursing homes and yes I would recommend this place straight away there is one negative if there's no one on reception it can be a bugger getting entry and I suppose if I was cheeky I could ask for door code but hey I'm not and that's my only complaint
If your thinking of placing a loved one in a home this is the one I am and our family are really happy with this place sadly dads close to death so he hasn't really benefited from this place for lounge area or meeting the residents but this place and the staff deserve praise and they are a credit to the owners the rooms are a decent size and always hot with heating always on too Thanks all
Reply from Michelle Croft, Deputy Manager at Heeley Bank Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to the whole team to hear how much your dad has been cared for and how supported your family feels. We're truly sorry he hasn't been able to enjoy more of the home, but we're glad we've been able to make a difference during this time. We'll also pass on your feedback about reception access. Sending our best to you and your family, and thank you again for your lovely message.

My mum was a resident at Pinxton Manor for 4 and a half years. It was difficult for us in the beginning, coming to terms with someone else taking care of our lovely mum. But she settled well and the staff became her new best friends. During her stay she was well cared for and always seem happy and content
whenever we visited her. She loved a laugh and a cheeky joke and they all engaged with her during those times. She enjoyed the singing and music related activities and even when she could no longer fully participate there was always a lovely smile on her face. She was able to get her hair and nails done regularly which she loved. ALL of the staff are extremely welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. Sadly mum passed away here last month , the staff were so considerate and empathetic during a difficult week and we cant thank them enough. In fact as our dad now needs care also, we have decided that Pinxton Manor is the best place for him too. Its early days but he has settled well x
Reply from Jacki Perry, Operations Manager at Pinxton ManorDear Jane Thank you so much for your lovely review. His general well being, mobility and demeanour have improved which is lovely for him and for us to see. We chose Poplars as it felt like the right place for him and stood out from other homes. A caring,
calm, warm and professional culture throughout. Thankyou everyone for making our Dad so welcome and so much happier. We are really pleased with how well he's doing now with all your care, knowledge and experience.

My husband's step mother has been resident here for 18 months, currently receiving end of life care after a spell in hospital. She has advanced dementia and other medical issues.
The whole team here from reception to carers and nurses have been amazing from day 1 and throughout the resident's stay
here, both to her and to us ; it has been a happy and caring place for her to be. Staff are always courteous and helpful, and at the present time especially willing to take the time to discuss the current situation.
We have been very impressed by the whole team who do a difficult job in often quite harrowing circumstances.

I found the home to be welcoming and friendly, I moved my Uncle to this home from another nursing home as I felt it was focused on individual care for individual people. The homes clinical lead is a registered mental health nurse which I felt gave the home an extra level of in house care. The manager
was always willing to see you and was not just sat in the office. The care staff are caring and make time sit with the residents.
Reply from Mandy Reeves, Operations Manager at Clifton Manor Nursing HomeThankyou very much for taking time to share your views of the care home, management team and the care staffs approach. Making time for people is at the heart of everything we do.

Lovely care home and a special place for my Grandad! It was hard when my Grandad needed to move into a care home from his home. But Kingfisher Court made this an easier and nice experience from the start. The staff are so lovely, caring and amazing at what they do. He was also looked after, given the
care he needed and anything else he needed. The facilities are great and lots of different spaces for the residents. The entertainment is great too! The staff always have a smile on their face and willing to help in anyway possible! Thank you for all you did for my wonderful Grandad!

We recently moved my grandad to this care home after a very upsetting experience at another, where his basic care needs were evidently not being met.
The difference in the past month has been remarkable, he has gained weight and is clearly happy and thriving, as much as one can with advanced dementia.
The
staff are phenomenal, their care is genuine and they are always happy despite constantly being on their feet. We are always offered a drink and top ups, a meal if we are there (food looks and smells incredible).
We couldn't be happier with the place, my grandad is living the rest of his days in comfort, with dignity and respect he deserves, amongst people that actually care about the difference they make. Thank you everyone at RM!

I am very please all round with the care my Mim receives. Both management and staff are very professional and kind. I am always kept up to date eithnhrr care and what is happening on the home.
All I can say as you do ask for honest feedback , is that the inside of the home could do a bit of a paint
and brightening up . Mainly the corridors as they do look a bit tired .
