I have worked in care for over 25 years, beginning with a college work placement before going on to train as a nurse at Sheffield Hallam University in 2006. Most of my career has been spent working in care home settings, where I have developed strong clinical and leadership experience. I have been with the company for nearly 10 years, starting as a Nurse and progressing through roles including Clinical Lead and Deputy Manager to my current position as Manager.
I have always felt drawn to nursing, even from a young age, and that passion has stayed with me throughout my career. What I enjoy most about my role is the clinical aspect, alongside the opportunity to support residents and make a positive difference to their day-to-day lives.
My key strengths lie in my clinical knowledge and my ability to support and develop others. I enjoy sharing my experience to help build confidence within my team and working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to continue learning and improving. I have extensive experience in care home environments and in supporting teams to deliver high-quality care.
I take a person-centred approach to my work, ensuring residents feel safe, respected, and supported in a way that suits their individual needs. I believe in being open and honest with families, keeping them involved and reassured. With my team, I am approachable and supportive while maintaining high standards, leading by example to ensure everyone feels confident and capable in their role.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two sons, my dog, and my wider family and friends. I’m a keen football fan and proudly support Sheffield Wednesday F.C. I also enjoy going on holiday and keeping active at the gym.
