Haddon house in clowne near chesterfield are absolutely brilliant/they only had my dad for a couple of months but his stay there was 100% more caring than any of the others he's been in! Rachel did her absolute best to get him there. Was amazing can not thank her enough! The events team Dawn & Kat are bloody lovely and so caring to each resident individually! The staff there are brilliant so with it, so tactful, just nice and encouraging towards all the residents! I'm so so pleased my dad had that home as his last home. Defo recommend it for anyone of your loved ones suffering from dementia or home life! The events they have are brilliant and lovely to attend. They welcome everyone !
We couldn't have picked a better home for my dad, the staff are all absolutely wonderful and go above and beyond for the residents. Even when he's unwell he still has a smile for some staff members and it's the most beautiful smile that tells us just how happy he is and that we made the right decision even if it was a hard one. The amount of activities they do for both residents and their families is just amazing and it really does help having these social events to be able to talk to others who are experiencing the same. We especially love the Forgetful Me Not Cafe held each month where families get together for coffee, cake and chats and updates on what's going on or upcoming events. My favourite has to be the seaside/summer event where we all get to go and sit in the garden and chat and play games and listen to music. Last year a resident that didn't really talk much and can't get around as well as others sang an old song into the mic of the singer and it brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this lovely feedback. We have shared this with our amazing team.
My husband has only been a resident in Haddon House for a few weeks, but he has settled really well which is credit to the hard working staff. The home is very friendly and welcoming and the residents are well cared for in a safe homely environment. The domestic team work hard to get clothes laundered and back in wardrobes on a daily basis. The activity team are dedicated and work tirelessly focusing on the individual residents' interests. The experienced care staff are always on hand to help with any requests. I feel reassured that my husband is being well looked after.
Thank you very much for your kind review. Your feedback is always appreciated.
My Husband has been at Haddon House since March 2022, and I would like thank the staff for the care that he is given, nothing is ever too much trouble. He settled in really well and gets involved with all the activities they have. We has a family can't thank them all enough for the amazing work they do. They have a forget me not cafe once a month where the residents and their families meet up for coffee, cake and a chat. They also have themed restaurant days every few months, where residents family come and have lunch with them, the last one was an Italian themed restaurant. We are so happy there was a vacancy at Haddon house, we couldn't have chosen a better place.
Thank you so much for your kind review, it is much appreciated and we love looking after your husband. You are very welcome any time for coffee and chats.Best wishes.
Unfortunately my husband had a recent fall resulting in him being admitted to hospital for surgery. The staff dealt with the situation in a professional manner and on his return to Haddon House kept me fully informed regarding any changes to his treatment and care plan, of other healthcare professional's involvement, and his day to day progress with regards to his mobility and general well being. I would have no hesitation in recommending Haddon House as a specialist home caring for people with dementia.
Many thanks for giving us the time to write us a review. We are so pleased with the progress your husband has made since returning to Haddon House! We will share the lovely feedback with our team.
All the staff treat my dad like I would treat him which gives me comfort, that he’s cared for and happy.
The staff are all amazing, they work so hard to make sure all the residents are looked after, the play staff keep them positive.
The only negative feedback is they could do with more patient toilets.
Many thanks for spending the time to write us a review. We are thrilled you and your dad are happy with the service our home provides and we got your recommendation. I will ensure this review is shared with the manager and staff team at Haddon House.
The home is clean and residents are well looked after.
Sadly my grandad wasn't there long, but the staff were brilliant with him and us whilst he was on end of life, making a real effort to keep him comfortable.
Despite only having a month's experience with this home, I'd recommend Haddon House without hesitation.
It was an absolute pleasure caring for your grandad, we only wish he could have stayed with us longer.
This care home goes above and beyond for the residents. The staff are nothing but welcoming and caring every time I have visited my grandad. He always has a smile on his face and feels safe and comfortable. It’s amazing how many activities they do and always puts a smile on our faces to hear about the activities my grandad has been up to over the week. The most incredible and unforgettable moment has to be the care home enabling my grandad to come to my brother's wedding. The staff were absolutely fabulous. A memory that will be cherished forever and as a family we will always be great full. Couldn’t recommend a better care home!
My mum has been a resident at Haddon House for just over a month now, and the change in her is dramatic. Before she was unable to walk, feed herself and could barely put a sentence together. Mum now can walk unaided, is eating and drinking herself, and I can have a conversation with her. I know this is due to the wonderful care and attention she has received from the team at Haddon House. All the staff work so hard to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents. The wonderful activities that engage the residents are individual and so enjoyable by all. Although I know my mum will not get better, I now know she will always be cared for, and I finally have found peace. So thank you to everyone for making it happen.
Many thanks for giving us the time to write us a review. We are pleased you and your mum are happy with the service our manager and staff provide at Haddon House. I will ensure this review is shared with the staff and manager.
My mum's husband was placed here about 12 months ago when the place he was living at were unable to cope with his behaviour. Since moving here he seems to have settled down and appears to enjoy living there. Always seem to have activities on the go for people to join in with and get singers and outside entertainers in which is great. My only little niggle is that sometimes my mum isn't offered a drink. I know it's possibly something you have to offer, however, she has a long journey each way to go and visit, and sometimes when she comes to mine straight from there she's sometimes not had a drink for several hours. She doesn't like to make a fuss so would never ask. I sometimes wish there were enough staff on when she visits on a Saturday so she can take him to lunch at the nearby pub, as I think it's nice for people to go out and have a change of scenery. All in all, pleased with how things are done.
Many thanks for giving us the time to write us a review. I would like to apologise to your mum for us not offering a drink I will speak with the manager who I am sure will ensure she is offered a drink when she visits your dad. I will ensure this review is shared with the staff and manager at Haddon House.
Haddon House is the most fantastic place! My Dad went into Haddon at the height of Covid and they were amazing. We had constant video calls and updates and they set up a pod for us to do face to face visits through patio doors. Once the lockdowns stopped and we were able to visit in person we were able to see how clean the home is and what a lovely job they had done to try and make his room familiar, adding pictures of things he liked as we hadn't been able to go in. The staff are so caring and friendly, nothing seems to be too much trouble. The activities team are wonderful and constantly having things going on to entertain the residents, also having activities to involve families such as seaside day and Christmas Carol singing. My Dad loves it there and has such a good relationship with the staff which is lovely as we cannot be there all of the time.
Many thanks for giving us the time to write a review. We will ensure this review is shared with the staff and Manager at Haddon House.
My husband has been in Haddon House for a long time now and he is very happy there. Whenever I go and visit I am made to feel like I belong to their big family. It's the best I could have done for him, as there are always lots of different activities to keep them all happy. They're the best.
Many thanks for giving us the time to write a review. We are pleased that you and your husband are very happy with the support we give at Haddon House. I will ensure this is passed on to the staff and manager at Haddon House.
Haddon House, for my father, has been the best place for him. They give him the quality of life that he should have and I am extremely happy with the care attention and dignity given to all aspects of his wellbeing.

After a very difficult year struggling to care for and come to terms with Dad's progressing challenging behaviour due to his Alzheimers/Vascular dementia, we were relieved when he was offered a place at Haddon House. Although anxious that he was having to go into care. He has been in Haddon for a few months now and while it has taken him some time to settle we are 'over the moon' with the care he is receiving. The staff are warm, compassionate, professional, hardworking and caring. The manager is an absolutely lovely lady and it is obvious that her ethos regarding the high standard of care in the 'home' is shared by all the staff and expected. We can now breathe a sigh of relief that Dad is being cared for in the manner he deserves. Thank you.
Many thanks for giving us the time such a lovely review. We are thrilled you and your dad are settled and happy with the care and support our home Haddon House delivers. I will ensure these comments are shared with the manager and staff at the home.
My husband has now been in Haddon House for over two years and I am so impressed with how hard all the staff work. Nothing seems too much trouble for them and they are amazing with all the residents. The activities and entertainment are wonderful there is always something going on so many different themes the entertainment team work very hard. When you enter the Home it is always clean and fresh. I thank the whole team for all they do and wish everyone all the best for 2023.

I can't believe the difference the home has made to my mum. The staff are great, professional but friendly. They do so many activities and include Mum even though she can't really participate much. I believe they even take residents over the road for a drink. During the summer they create a beach with real sand. The staff are always pleasant and are very good at getting medication into Mum.
Many thanks for giving us the time to write us a review. We're thrilled you and your mum are happy with the support our home is offering. I will ensure this is shared with the manager and staff team at Haddon house.
It's difficult to believe we are still in a pandemic after a long 2 years, the staff here are still striving for normality, working tirelessly to keep everyone safe, happy and living their best life. On a recent visit, I was so impressed on the safety measures in place, the home was spotless, my mum looked lovely, and was happy and smiley. I receive regular updates on Mum of which I really appreciate. The activities and entertainment is above and beyond, the preparation and planning is amazing. I can see from recent photos the staff have once again excelled in their production of Snow White, and the recent carol concert, all to ensure that "Covid " will not rob our loved ones of the festivities and a level of normality at the toughest of times. Business as usual whilst dealing with day to day guidelines, You have one heck of a team here. Team Haddon House are one to be proud of. A massive thank you and Merry Christmas.
Many thanks for you review. We are really pleased your happy with the care and support your mother is receiving from Haddon House. I will ensure this review is shared with the manager and staff at Haddon House.
The transition getting Mum into the home, I was very impressed with the help and support in transferring Mum during what was a very distressing time. When we have been visiting Mum she is always clean, well presented and can tell she is well taken care of. Her behaviour has reduced tenfold and she is now calm and content, happy and smiling all time time. The constant interaction and activity programme has also assisted in the transformation of Mum's well being and happiness. Because of these she is more observant and engaged with the world around her and tolerant. She is responding with appropriate actions and words where previously these had all escaped her. These are reassuring signs.
Many thanks for giving us your time to write such a positive review on your experience of our home Haddon House. I will ensure this lovely review is shared with all the staff and manager of the home.
You should know what fabulous staff you have at Haddon House in Clowne. They have been taking excellent care of my mum who has been a resident for a number of years now. The care staff are attentive to all patient needs My mum has been bedridden for over four years, they make sure she is treated with the utmost dignity. I couldn't have got through the past year of the pandemic without the support of the events co-ordinator, who I now call a friend. She has kept me, my dad and sister in contact with Mum using FaceTime, photos of Mum and messages. Mum and dad had their 60th wedding anniversary in February 2021, the events co-ordinator went above and beyond to make the day extra special. She is such a special member of Haddon House and deserves recognition for her tireless efforts and attention to detail. I love seeing all the different events the events co-ordinator and her team do to entertain all the residents, a different outfit for every event! By the way, Easter bunny was my favourite! The events co-ordinator and the staff are amazing - thank you.

Meet the Team (1)

My care journey began with a genuine desire to support others and make a positive difference, something I remain very passionate about today. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in complex care environments, supporting individuals with a wide range of needs while always keeping a person-centred approach. This has helped me build strong skills in communication, teamwork, and adaptability, and I’m committed to providing compassionate, respectful, and high-quality care to both residents and their families.
I’ve always wanted to help people, especially older individuals, as I have a lot of respect for their life experiences. What I enjoy most is the connection—having a chat, sharing a laugh, and simply being there. It’s often the smallest moments that can make the biggest difference to someone’s day.
My key strengths are my experience, patience, and understanding. I’ve supported many residents with different needs, particularly those living with dementia, and I feel confident supporting both residents and my team. I also enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping others develop in their roles.
My approach is centred on person-centred care, clear communication, and teamwork. I take time to understand each resident’s individual needs and ensure they feel respected and supported. I work closely with families to build trust and keep them involved, and within the team, I encourage open communication and mutual support so we can deliver the best possible care together.
Outside of work, I’m very family-oriented. I’m married with five children and four grandchildren, and I love creating a warm, welcoming home where everyone feels comfortable. I believe strongly in kindness, generosity, and making time for others—values that I carry into my work every day.
