I am the sister-in-law of one of your residents, with the help and support given by management and staff, she seems to have gained confidence and takes an interest in what's going on around her. Her memory is not good, she can't keep minute to minute information to hand, long term is ok, with the continued
support and encouragement by the staff, she's taking part in activities. Such a wonderful, practical aspect of the care and support. She herself acknowledges the care, staff, informative and pleasant.
Thank you.

Well meaning, caring, easy to approach, residents and family come first. Home is clean and tidy and on going improvement. Staff are good natured. Only down side the need for a display name of Coton House on the road way (even Gods waiting room on the gable end in street art - lol)

My Brother spent a little while here, the Staff team and the Manager are so caring and looked after him so well. I didnt think he would settle but was happily surprised how well he got on with everyone. He is now home and doing well. Thanks to all who helped in his recovery.

My mum moved here in October 2024 and since then I have been more than happy with the care she has received. The home has a lovely friendly feel about it and the staff are very helpful and always willing to answer any questions. There are a good programme of activities and I'm impressed that families
are encouraged to get involved. I would prefer more privacy when I visit but I realise this is not always possible.
Reply from Rimpi Kaur, Registered Care Manager at Coton HouseThank you for your feedback, its lovely to hear that you feel confident with our home for mum, and she is a pleasure to look after. We love getting families involved and we always welcome feedback. In regards to wanting more privacy, you can just ask staff to assist you to take mum into a more private location, a quiet lounge or bedroom and we would be more than happy to assist with this. Look forward to seeing you at the home.

Excellent staff, very caring, person-centred care, and nice to relatives. The staff help to facilitate nice birthdays and welcome wider family. He has been treated with dignity and respect and his safety is met, which is most important to me. I am allowed to visit whenever I want but I try and come
within the times. The home itself is dated and could do with some improvements. Overall happy.
Reply from Rimpi Kaur, Registered Care Manager at Coton HouseHi, Many thanks for your feedback of the service. We endeavour to continue to improve the service and all feedback is welcome. We currently have a rolling renovation programme at the home which we are currently working on. The staff are professional, efficient, and friendly. There are activities, jigsaws, clay modelling, knitting, sometimes bingo, and a male singer - everyone enjoys this, brings back happy memories for all, and a chance to dance or tap your toes. Very friendly and happy home, where everyone has a good
time.

Our Stepfather has been a resident at Coton House since 20/2/22 after discharge from the hospital following a fall breaking his wrist, and contracting COVID while there. The staff from senior management, direct care, kitchen, laundry, and domestic are excellent. They show care, kindness, consideration,
and most importantly dignity to Dad always. On occasion when staff had concerns over Dad the appropriate agency was called and the family was informed immediately. The same applies to us as visitors as a family on our frequent visits. My sister and I have worked in the care sector at local authority care sectors. for 30 + years before retirement.
Dad is content and very happy we know at Coton House. Thank you all Coton House staff.
Reply from Rimpi Kaur, Registered Care Manager at Coton HouseThank you so much for your kind words, we will share them with the team. Thank you for everything you do for us too. Kind regards.

Mum has been at Coton House for two years and I really can't fault the care and support we have been given as a family.
Mum's needs have changed so much but the quality of care has not diminished at all it's just got better.
As a family, we are greeted with a smile at the door, kept up to date and
always feel welcome.
Louise the assistant manager in particular has been a rock whilst navigating the care package with the Local Authority fighting for Mum quality of care.
I am so grateful to the staff at Coton House and would recommend it to any family looking for care for their loved ones.
Reply from Rimpi Kaur, Registered Care Manager at Coton HouseThank you for your feedback and kind words- we will be sure to share with the whole team. Mum is an absolute pleasure to look after, equally, you have been very supportive and fundamental to us in supporting your mum with her changing needs. We have built a great rapport together and we value your input and support in ensuring mum's care requirements are person-centred. We look forward to seeing you soon, and hope you have been keeping well. Kind regards, Rimpi Kaur

Our family would like to say thank you to the team at Coton House Care Home. We recently lost our beloved mom who has lived here for the last four years. She was shown care, compassion, dignity and given quality of life with dementia. The professional manner at Coton House is exemplary. Looking back
now, we can honestly say that Mom received a high level of personal care and safety. The lovely team were both informative and approachable and for this we are grateful.

I have been very happy to know Mum is being cared for properly; in comparison to a previous respite home. She always looks happy, clean and content. This a relief to know that I don't have to worry about her. I would feel happy to recommend Coton House. Many years ago, my grandfather was here, and he
enjoyed his time here.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.381)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.381) out of 10 for Coton House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.506 for Coton House is calculated as follows: ( (102 Excellents x 5) + (61 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 176 Ratings = 4.506
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Coton House is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
