Job summary

Manager required to run a friendly well trained team of 28 in this 23 bed Care Home for the elderly, based in Bideford.

1. The main purpose of the job is to manage and develop the provision of high quality cost effective care services, and m 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Manage the Home as a successful business within the provision of the Health and Social Care act 2008 and the CQC (registration)Regulations 2009.To provide line management for staff and to ensure the home is run on a delegated basis.

2. The Manager will be responsible for the Deputy Home Manager, Domestic staff, Kitchen staff and Maintenance staff and accountable to the Directors, CQC and Devon County Council.

3. The main duties and responsibilities would be to manage the staff team, to meet the aims and objectives of the Home and to manage the resources of the Home. To plan, develop and maintain care services which meet the needs of the Service Users and enable them to exercise their right to privacy, dignity, independence, choice and fulfilment. To ensure the implementation of care planning and to maintain and monitor the care planning system. To update and review company policies. To undertake the process of contracting with social services and privately funded service users for the provision of care. To ensure the Home has 24 hour Management cover.

4. Any other duties arising which contribute to the smooth and successful running of the Home.

Hours are 40pw as required, on a flexible basis including occasional weekends and on call duties. Normally 9 - 5 Monday to Friday.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for adult care (or to be currently working on it).
  • Experience to at least deputy level
  • NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care.
  • Registered Manager Award
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Safeguarding Adults level 4 or 5
