Job Summary
To co-ordinate all aspects of kitchen production so that food is prepared to the agreed standard and that time deadlines are met.
Overall Responsibilities
· To order catering consumables from current nominated suppliers.
· To complete monthly audits.
· To maintain the agreed stock levels of food.
· To implement and maintain an agreed deep cleaning schedule for the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
· Reviewing the menu and doing inventory biweekly.
· Following the budget set by the Registered Manger.
· Ordering food on a weekly basis via the use of laptop provided.
· Managing relationships with distributors and resolving any issues with vendors.
· Ensuring standard portions and quality of dishes.
· Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen.
· Ensure your own personal hygiene and cleanliness is of the highest standard
· Prepare and cook meals and snacks following pre-set menus in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations to ensure meals are nutritious, appetising and meet dietary needs.
· Undertake the cleaning of the kitchen and surrounding areas and also of equipment to ensure the kitchen is maintained to a high level.
· Ensuring dietary requirement and resident requests are catered to where possible.
· Ensuring food is prepared and cooked in line with temperature guidelines.
· Ensuring daily documentation such as temperature checks are actioned.
Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults & Mental Capacity Act
Complete training on Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and the Mental Capacity Act and be able to understand and implement SVA and MHA policies and procedures taking responsibility for reporting any safeguarding concerns to the Registered Manager.
