My lovely father developed Dementia and moved in to Ashgrove Residential Care home nearly a year ago. We chose Ashgrove after seeing a number of other homes. What struck us was the passion and love that we felt the team had for their residents and I'm delighted to say that we were right. Despite living
a long way away myself I've not had a day's concern for my father ever since.
It's a small, quiet home with a lovely garden. There's always a friendly welcome when I visit and it is always clean and tidy. Admin is efficient and timely. Communication with the family is excellent - a must when one lives so far away. Despite the pressure on care homes these days they have kept very high standards and recruited some brilliant new team members.
I happily recommend them to you wholeheartedly.
Reply from Umadevi Panicker, Manager at Ashgrove Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It truly means a great deal to the whole team to hear that your father has felt so well cared for and supported during his time with us.
We understand how difficult it can be to place a loved one into residential care, especially when living far away, so we are especially pleased that we've been able to give you peace of mind and confidence in the care your father receives every day.
Your comments about our team, communication, and the atmosphere within the home are greatly appreciated and will be shared with all of our staff. We are very proud of the compassionate and dedicated team we have at Ashgrove, and feedback like yours reminds us why we do what we do.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and for trusting us with your father's care.

My mum stayed at Ashgrove Care home for four months respite after recovering from a stroke. While at the care home she received the up most care and support. The management and senior team were exceptional at communicating with the family and supported any request or query. They always gave time to
listen and reasure the family about mums progress.
While mum was there her progress and weight greatly improved with daily afternoon games, interaction with other residents and the most wonderful food.
The staff helped mum with all of her care needs and assisted her to arranged hospital appointments.
She made some lovely friends with both other residents and staff.
We will always be greatful to Ashgrove Care Home for their part in helping and making it able for our mum to gain her strength and return home

My father was in this home from July 2024 until September 2025 and he enjoyed being there.
It has a really nice friendly atmosphere and all friends and family were made to feel welcome.
There is regular entertainment laid on and it has a lovely garden to sit outside on a nice sunny day. I am so pleased
I found this care home for my father and I would certainly recommend it.

Joan enjoyed her time at Ashgrove. Liked the staff and some of her fellow patients. Enjoyed the company.
Her main gripe was the inability of anyone or machinery to make proper toast. Ie cooked on both sides and crisp.

My father spent approximately nine months being cared for at the home. The management team respond quickly to any requests and are keen to build relationships with family members. The residents' needs are a priority and they ensure any medical issues are dealt with as quickly as possible. The carer
team are helpful and responsive at all times. I can't fault the level of care given. The lounge and dining area are pleasant and the food options are suitable for the elderly residents. The bedrooms could do with modernisation but don't let this deter you from choosing this home for your loved one.
Reply from Umadevi Panicker, Manager at Ashgrove Care HomeThank you for your kind and thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your father received such a high standard of care during his time with us. Our team works hard to ensure residents feel safe, comfortable and well supported, and it means a great deal to know that both the care team and management made a positive impression on you and your family.
We truly appreciate your comments regarding our responsiveness, communication and the relationships we build with families. Your feedback about the lounge, dining areas and food options is also very encouraging.
We also value your honest comments regarding the bedrooms and will certainly take this on board as we continue to improve the home and environment for our residents.
Thank you once again for your recommendation and for trusting us with your father's care.

Very impressed with Ashgrove for cleanliness and quality
My father was very happy and contented in his last months with friendly caring staff who tended to his needs and made sure that he was safe and happy
I would recommend Ashgrove for any older residents for a pleasant and happy stay
The staff
made sure that my dad and my family had privacy and space when we all visited my dad and that was much appreciated
In all I was happy that my dad had a happy stay there

My aunt was cared for with such kindness and dignity during her two years at Ashgrove Care Home, right up until the very end of her life. The staff showed genuine compassion and made her feel safe and loved. We're so grateful for the wonderful care they gave her.

Communication with the family has

been excellent-we've always felt informed and reassured about my aunts wellbeing. It is clear that the team genuinely cares about their residents, treating them with dignity and kindness.

I am deeply grateful for the dedication and warmth shown to my aunt and would not hesitate to recommend Ashgrove Care Home to anyone looking for a safe, caring, and supportive environment for their loved ones.

Thank you for being there for my aunt and my family over the past two years.

Our experience with Ashgrove Residential Care Home has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment my mother arrived, the management and staff demonstrated the highest levels of care, professionalism, and compassion-not just towards her, but towards myself and the rest of our family as well.
The
staff were consistently friendly and approachable, always greeting us with a smile and a genuine willingness to help in any way they could. Communication was excellent at all times, which gave us peace of mind knowing we were kept informed and involved in my mother's care.
The care home itself is in excellent condition-clean, tidy, and well-maintained, which made it a comfortable and reassuring environment for both residents and visitors. The staff were always accommodating, going the extra mile with thoughtful gestures such as making us tea during visits, and ensuring that every aspect of our experience was as supportive as possible.

Mum arrived at Ashgrove in 2018. Sadly she passed away in December. Here are some genuine extracts, written and read out by me as part of her Eulogy:
By 2018, at 94, it was clear that Mum now needed full-time care and she moved into Ashgrove Care Home. This turned out to be a masterstroke.
For the
last 6 and a half years, thanks to everyone at Ashgrove, she has effectively been living life as if she'd won the lottery, wanting for nothing.
Their affection, dedication and generosity were perfectly demonstrated when Mum turned 100. They insisted on throwing a party, including food, drink, giant balloons and a personalised birthday cake. It was brilliant. Many of the off-duty staff also came along. The whole team deserve enormous credit for a day we'll never forget.

The care my mother received at Ashgrove was amazing, we are so thankful she spent her last months being treated like a princess by all the staff here.
The entertainment was great, they had someone come in for hair, nails and opticians. I would recommend Ashgrove to anybody who is looking for a care
home for their family members and will be forever grateful to all the staff here.

My mother needed to move from a Residential home to a Nursing care home which would suit her new needs. The home's manager and staff were very understanding and went above what was part of their role to ensure she was both comfortable and happy. They did not rush me and gave me confidence in the moving
process.
I was very happy with the location and the home.

Mum stayed for 1 month respite care and we couldn't be happier with the care she received. Mum thrived in the environment at Ashgroves and enjoyed the company of the other residents. The staff were all lovely and couldn't be more helpful. We would definitely consider Ashgroves in the future if mum
needed to go into long term care and also for any future respite needs.

My mother became a resident in Ashgrove Care Home This year, 2023.
I can honestly say I’m so happy with my choice.
The home is so clean.
I can not fault the staff and management; they are all so caring and friendly, and I have regular updates with any changes to Mum's care.
I’m always made welcome
when visiting - coffee biscuits are offered.
But the main thing is my mother is so happy being at the home, always smiling and saying how much she likes... which after all is the main thing.

Mum entered into the care of Ashgrove Care Home in July 2022 after a fall and being in hospital. Initially, it was to be for 4/6 weeks but she settled in and Yvonne and I realised that going back to her flat was not going to happen. The staff from the beginning have treated her and us with utmost respect,
kindness and dedication. We were always kept informed of any issues and were confident of the care she was given.
Her dementia deteriorated gradually but she still had a sense of humour at times and was loved and she loved the staff. Sadly on the 13th of October 2023 she passed away, the care, attention and dedication by all staff was second to none and we thank everyone at Ashgrove for looking after “Our Mum.”

The management and staff are always welcoming and supportive. They take time to explain any issues with my aunt and always contact me to inform me of any concerns or changes. I usually see my aunt once a week and they off tea and biscuits to us the visitors as well. I have had no concerns as the management
team are very professional, polite and patient.
My aunt is always well presented, her clothes and her earrings are always on, her nails painted, hairdressers, as she was a wonderful woman that always looked after herself.
She is well cared for and they have entertainment in the home, school choirs etc. I’m very thankful to this care home and the support it has given me and my family in transitioning.

What can I say, from the moment I arrive I’m greeted by all the staff and welcomed into their care home. My visit is expected by them and my name is remembered which makes such a difference to know you and your time is valued by them. The home is always clean tidy and organised all residents are up-dressed
and happy.
The manager is always available to greet me and answer any questions and is extremely helpful if I need anything in her usual friendly manner.
The deputy manager is also available and ready to help in any way. The interaction between staff residents and visitors is excellent. I would be pleased for Ashgrove to care for one of my loved ones if needed.

I am very happy with the care, the staff are very easy to talk to and I very much enjoy their company. The food is good, and I get very varied options as I am very fussy with my food at times. My bedroom is one of the best in the home, a real luxury to have lovely patio doors which lead out to the garden
which I enjoy in the summer months. The location of the home is really good, as I have the library, shops and a lovely park only across the street, it is also good as the care home is halfway between my sons, so get to see them a lot. The home is very clean and tidy. The manager is lovely and is always smiling and happy to talk. The management is great at ensuring I have everything I need, I don’t want for anything!
