What will you be doing:
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and decorating throughout the home.
- Complete regular checks in line with Oakland Care's Health and Safety, Emergency and Fire policies and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, fixtures and fittings.
- Make sure gardens, grounds and outdoor areas are safe and well-preserved.
- Assist with planned maintenance programmes and contractor visits.
- Perform basic plumbing, painting, carpentry and general maintenance tasks.
- Support with keeping accurate maintenance and safety records.
What you need to succeed:
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance, caretaking or facilities role.
- Possess good practical skills across a range of maintenance duties.
- Understand Health and Safety requirements within a workplace setting.
- Is proactive, organised and able to work independently as well as being a team player.
- Excellent communication skills and enjoys working with older people.
- Takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
