Pepperwood Care is a small (but perfectly formed) award-winning care provider with big ambitions for the future. . We are now looking for a like-minded Operations Support Manager to join us on the next stage of our journey.

Summary

Joining us on a part time basis to begin with, your role will be to strengthen quality, support each service to move forward and assist with the onboarding of digital technology, ensuring our care homes remain at the forefront of quality care provision across Scotland

The Role

We are looking for a qualified nurse with a solid background in care home nursing and management, and an in-depth knowledge of Care Inspectorate requirements and National Care Standards. We want someone who can work as a trusted partner with a credible presence, supporting our managers to achieve their goals while leading projects and initiatives across the group.

As well as supporting quality and compliance, we're looking for someone who can contribute to practical solutions, and introduce new ideas. You'll have a record of improving operational performance by effective workforce planning, identifying sustainable staffing efficiencies and helping services achieve strong financial performance. Above all, You will understand that exceptional care and commercial success go hand in hand, and you'll enjoy finding innovative ways to make both happen.

We need you to be a strong and credible leader who is comfortable having courageous conversations and making difficult decisions when required. Whether supporting managers through complex HR matters, driving operational change, addressing performance concerns or balancing commercial realities with quality outcomes, you'll bring sound judgement, resilience and professionalism. You won't shy away from challenging situations, but you'll approach them with fairness, empathy and a focus on achieving the right outcome for residents, teams and the business.

You'll be:

  • Clinically astute
  • Able to engage with, influence and constructively challenge Social Work and Local Authority representatives
  • Comfortable making tough operational and commercial decisions while maintaining positive relationships
  • Able to influence and support managers to achieve best outcomes for their residents, their teams and their business
  • A demon auditor with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experienced in implementing and embedding digital technology
  • A natural relationship-builder with a winning personality and great sense of humour
  • Home based or working from one of our home, but able to travel throughout Scotland and stay away from home on occasion
