Job summary
Clinical Lead Nurse -
As Clinical Lead Nurse, you will provide professional leadership to the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care. You will support the Home Manager in maintaining clinical standards, overseeing care planning, managing medications, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practice guidelines.
You will lead by example, mentor and develop staff, promote continuous improvement, and work closely with residents, families, GPs, and other healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will also contribute to audits, risk management, safeguarding, and quality assurance while helping to create a positive, supportive environment for both residents and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the nursing team in delivering outstanding clinical care.
- Ensure care plans and risk assessments are accurate, up to date, and regularly reviewed.
- Oversee safe medication management and clinical governance.
- Support staff development through supervision, training, and mentoring.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with CQC standards and relevant legislation.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, residents, and their families.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect, safety, and continuous improvement.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with a valid NMC PIN.
- Previous experience in a senior nursing or leadership role within a care home or similar healthcare setting.
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of CQC standards and clinical governance.
