Job Summary

We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and creative Activity Coordinator to join our friendly team.

This is a rewarding role where you'll plan and deliver a varied programme of activities that promote independence, wellbeing and social interaction. About the Role

Reporting to the Home Manager, you'll be responsible for planning, organising and delivering an engaging activities programme for residents with a wide range of interests and abilities.

You'll work closely with care staff, residents, relatives, volunteers and the local community to ensure activities are meaningful, inclusive and enjoyable. You'll also support special events, seasonal celebrations and community engagement within the home.

Success in this role means creating opportunities that improve residents' wellbeing, encourage participation and help everyone feel valued and connected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a varied weekly programme of individual and group activities.
  • Support residents to take part according to their interests, preferences and abilities.
  • Organise entertainment, themed events, celebrations and outings.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers and local community groups.
  • Maintain activity plans, calendars and participation records.
  • Help create a vibrant, welcoming and stimulating environment throughout the home.

Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, compassionate and enthusiastic.
  • Creative, energetic and full of ideas.
  • An excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills.
  • Well organised and able to work independently.
  • Passionate about improving the lives of older people.

Previous experience as an Activity Coordinator, Activities Assistant, Wellbeing Coordinator or within a care setting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

An understanding of person-centred care and dementia-friendly activities would be an advantage.
