Salary: £12.71 - £13.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Location: Bay Tree House, 99 Norman Road, LL13 7BG.
Hours: 3 days per week, 8:00am to 6:00pm (30 hours per week), including alternate weekends on a rota.

Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Cook to join our care home kitchen team.
You'll be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality, home-cooked meals that meet the nutritional needs and dietary requirements of our residents. Working closely with the Home Manager and care team, you'll help create enjoyable mealtimes while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and safety.

About the Role
Reporting to the Home Manager, you'll manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen during your shift, ensuring meals are prepared on time, presented to a high standard and cater for individual dietary needs.
You'll contribute to menu planning, monitor stock levels and maintain a clean, organised kitchen that complies with all food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious breakfasts, lunches, evening meals and desserts.
- Cater for special diets, allergies, cultural preferences and modified-texture meals.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and infection control.
- Monitor food stock, rotate supplies and assist with ordering.
- Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
Skills and Experience
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Cook, Chef or Kitchen Assistant, ideally within a care home, healthcare or catering environment.
- A good understanding of nutrition and special dietary requirements for older people.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety procedures.
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- A caring, reliable and positive attitude.
