Are you passionate about quality, compliance and making a real difference in care services? We're looking for an experienced Policy Officer to lead the development, review and implementation of organisational policies that support safe, effective and person-centred care.
Working closely with senior leaders and operational teams, you'll ensure our policies remain up to date with current legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice, helping our services deliver outstanding care every day. What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the development, review and continuous improvement of operational policies and procedures.
- Create and manage an annual policy review programme and maintain the organisational policy tracker.
- Ensure policies remain compliant with legislation, CQC requirements, NICE guidance and sector best practice.
- Update policies in response to legislative or regulatory changes.
- Support care services to implement policies effectively and consistently.
- Produce concise guidance documents and policy summaries for operational teams.
- Coordinate and support annual care service audits, monitoring compliance and identifying improvements.
- Develop competency frameworks and guidance for key organisational policies.
- Work with managers to ensure staff understand the policies relevant to their roles.
- Keep abreast of changes in health and social care legislation, sharing updates across the organisation.
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys researching, writing and improving systems, with excellent attention to detail and the confidence to work with colleagues across the organisation.
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience working within the health or social care sector.
- At least two years' experience in a policy, compliance, governance, quality or similar role.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, practical documentation.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and guidance affecting adult social care.
- The ability to interpret complex information and translate it into easy-to-follow policies and procedures.
- A collaborative approach with the confidence to influence and support colleagues at all levels.
