Crown Care Group are pleased to announce the following Kitchen Assistant vacancy at Goldsborough Manor, Strensall, York.

Goldsborough Manor, is a Luxurious Care Home situated in the quiet village location of Strensall, York.

This stunningly beautiful 62 bed care home provides high-quality person-centred care to residents who require residential and dementia care. If you want to work with a committed and dynamic team in a fulfilling and rewarding care home, then this is the job for you.

You will ideally have experience within a care home setting and be confident around service users with dementia,

Skills Good communication skills, Attention to detail, Ability to work well under pressure, Knowledge of food and dietary restrictions.

A kitchen assistant helps prepare food, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment. They work under the supervision of a chef and pot wash duties.

This role is flexible and there will be an expectation to cover holidays and sickness.

  • Customer service: Greet guests, provide excellent customer service, and address customer concerns 
  • Food preparation: All aspects of food preparation within the kitchen.
  • Food and beverage service: Prepare and serve food and drinks, including buffets and receptions 
  • Cleaning: Clean and tidy hospitality areas, including kitchens, service areas, and dining rooms 
  • Maintenance: Ensure stock levels are maintained at all times.
    •  Ensure catering equipment is in god working order, report any faults to the relevant person. 
  • Safety: Ensure that chefs and cooks have a safe cooking environment 
  • Stock management: Check stock levels, replenish stock, and manage portion control 
  • Administration: Complete administration tasks, such as food temperature and waste records 
  • Health and safety: Ensure health and safety regulations are followed 
  • Event preparation: Set up meeting rooms, buffets, and other hospitality areas for events 
  • Communication: Communicate orders to kitchen staff and share information with colleagues 
  • Organization: Organize hospitality areas and ensure hospitality rooms are tidy 
  • Flexible: One weekend in and one off, at least 3 shift during the week and will assist covering holidays
