Job summary
Flexi Senior Care Practitioner. Birkdale Tower Care Home
- Rate: £14.69 per hour days - £15.31per hour nights
- Contract: 22 hours per week (2 shifts per week), must be flexible to be able to cover both days or nights in line with the rota requirements
- Shift pattern: 8am-8pm and 8pm-8am
Birkdale Tower Care Home, located in the heart of Birkdale, Southport, is a beautifully restored landmark offering luxurious surroundings and exceptional, person-centred care. We are currently recruiting compassionate and experienced Senior Care Practitioners to join our dedicated team and help deliver outstanding care.
As a Senior Care Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting residents with personal care, hygiene, and daily routines
- Providing emotional support and companionship
- Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and responding to any changes or concerns
- Leading and supporting day staff, including supervision and guidance
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring clear handovers
- Contributing to and reviewing individual care plans to ensure they reflect residents’ changing needs
- Ensuring care delivery is in line with regulatory standards and best practice
- Assisting with staff appraisals, training, and liaising with healthcare professionals
- Promoting a calm, safe, and well-managed environment throughout the day
What are we looking for?
- Supervisory or leadership experience in a residential or nursing home setting
- A warm, professional approach with a positive attitude
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
- Confidence in using care systems and maintaining accurate records
- Ability to remain calm and lead effectively under pressure
- Flexibility to work both day and night shifts, including weekends
