  • Rate: £13.88 per hour
  • Contract: 28 hours per week (4 days per week)
  • Shifts: 10:30am-6pm, occasionally 12:30pm-8pm to accommodate activities

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Activity & Lifestyle Coordinator to lead our activities programme, inspire our residents, and support the development of meaningful wellbeing initiatives throughout the home.

Your Role

As a Senior Activity & Lifestyle Coordinator, you will take a leading role in enhancing residents' quality of life by creating and delivering a varied, person-centred programme of activities and wellbeing experiences. You will also provide guidance and support to colleagues involved in activities and wellbeing across the home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the planning, development and delivery of a high-quality activities and wellbeing programme that promotes physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing.
  • Supporting, mentoring and guiding Activity & Lifestyle Coordinators and wider team members to ensure activities are engaging, inclusive and person-centred.
  • Organising events, celebrations and community partnerships, including themed days, local entertainment, intergenerational projects and seasonal events.
  • Building meaningful relationships with residents and families to understand individual preferences, life histories and aspirations.
  • Promoting wellbeing initiatives, including dementia-friendly activities, sensory experiences and therapeutic interventions.
  • Coordinating outings and special experiences that encourage social inclusion and community engagement.
  • Monitoring participation and evaluating the success of activities to continually improve the resident experience.
  • Working closely with care and management teams to ensure residents' wellbeing needs are reflected in activity planning.
  • Managing the activities budget, ensuring resources are used effectively, maintaining accurate expenditure records, sourcing cost-effective materials and entertainment, and maximising opportunities to deliver a varied and engaging programme of activities within budget.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in coordinating activities, wellbeing programmes or lifestyle services within a care setting.
  • A confident leader who can motivate, support and develop others.
  • Creative, enthusiastic and highly organised.
  • Caring and compassionate, with a genuine passion for improving the wellbeing and quality of life of older people.
  • A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues and external organisations.
  • Flexible and willing to support events, celebrations and occasional outings.

Previous experience in a senior activities, wellbeing, lifestyle or recreational role within a care environment is desirable.
