We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team at our dementia care home. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our residents by planning and delivering meaningful activities that promote wellbeing, independence, and social engagement.

About the Role

As our Activities Coordinator, you will create and deliver a varied programme of activities tailored to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of residents living with dementia. You will work closely with residents, families, and the care team to ensure activities are person-centred, engaging, and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and deliver a diverse programme of daily activities and events.
• Develop personalised activities that reflect residents’ life histories, interests, and abilities.
• Encourage participation and support residents to remain active and socially engaged.
• Organise seasonal celebrations, themed events, entertainers, and community visits.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and external organisations.
• Maintain accurate activity records and care documentation.
• Ensure all activities are delivered safely and in line with health and safety requirements.
• Work as part of the wider care team to promote residents’ physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as an Activities Coordinator within a dementia care home or residential care setting is essential.
• A good understanding of dementia and person-centred care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, energetic, and passionate about improving residents’ quality of life.
• Ability to plan and organise engaging activities for individuals and groups.
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Activity Provision, or Dementia Care.
• Experience working with people living with dementia.
