My grandad recently stayed for respite care and had a wonderful experience. The staff were attentive and ensured all his needs were met with kindness and professionalism. He really enjoyed the food and the friendly atmosphere. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home, and he's already looking forward to returning for his next stay!
Thank you L R, for taking the time to leave a review. It was lovely to have your grandad stay with us, and it was truly a pleasure to look after him. We wish him all the very best and thank you again for choosing
Our mum joined Ambleside in March this year. We were very pleased when we visited initially as we needed mum to have some respite following a chest infection when caused her dementia to deteriate significantly. We were very pleased with Ambleside's staff, and mum's health improvement so decided to make it permanent. A large room became available and she has now settled in. Just one negative is that important info isn't always relayed all staff.

My mum was coming to the end of her life, the care my mum received, during her journey was done with dignity and respect. A special thank you to the manager who worked quickly, to ensure my mum had a peaceful transition.
We as a family were welcome to come and this made us feel so much at ease knowing we could stay with our precious mum to the end.
During our mums stay she had many happy times, we visited our mum on a regular basis and we where always greeted by a friendly face and offered a drink. Any concerns we did have where dealt with. My mum was happy at Ambleside Care Home for 3 and a bit years.
Thank you, Maryann, for taking the time to leave your review. It was our privilege to care for your mother, and she is fondly remembered and greatly missed by everyone at Ambleside. Your family are wonderful, and we truly appreciated getting to know you all.
I can't thank all of the staff enough for the wonderful care they gave to my auntie over the three years she was in the home. The staff showed so much kindness and understanding and nothing was too much trouble. I was very lucky to have found a care home full of wonderful caring people who made her stay as comfortable as it could have been.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. Your 5 star rating means so much to us all, and I will be sure to share your kind words with the team. It was a real privilege to care for your aunt.
Mum is well cared for by a team of friendly staff. She eats well and enjoys the food. Her room is comfortable and warm, and I am happy that she is in a safe environment.
My mother has been made very welcome, she is treated very well by staff and has a good rapport with them. I feel she is safe and well looked after.
Mum lived at Ambleside for over four years and I cannot praise them more highly. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food great, the overall ambience was good and there were regular activities - such as singing, painting, crafting etc.
Mum could be challenging but the Ambleside team developed an excellent relationship with her and their care, patience and understanding meant both she and I were happy she was there. As time moved on, mum struggled to understand what was happening to her and had mobility issues but she kept her sense of humour and the team adapted ways of working to keep her comfortable and content.
Sadly, mum died in July but the respect, care and warmth shown to mum - and to me - could not be faulted and I will be forever grateful.
Thank you so much, Linda, for taking the time to leave such a kind review. Your words mean a great deal to all of us here. Your mum was such a truly lovely lady, and she brought so much warmth to our home. She is deeply missed by all of us. It was a joy and an honour to care for her, and we're so glad you felt supported during her time with us.
The home seems very nice, warm, friendly staff and extremely clean. The residents appear well looked after.

My mum had been at Ambleside for 10 months now. She has settled in well and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Knowing she is safe and being well cared for means so much, especially after the guilt we felt when she couldn't cope any longer in her own home.
Thank you for your lovely review. It means so much to the team. It is lovely to hear that you and your family have peace of mind based on the care your mum is receiving.
My mother has been a resident for 3 years now and is and continues to be cared for very well by the management and staff of Ambleside, which gives me great comfort as I do not live local. Their communication with me as her son is always very good.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate the positive feedback and the assurance you have with Ambleside.
My grandad stayed at the home for respite care during a really hard time for our family. The home made the transition effortless and he enjoyed his stay so much, he even considered not leaving! Thank you, Ambleside for your outstanding care.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It was a pleasure to look after your grandfather for his stay with us. I will pass on the lovely compliments to the team.
My grandfather stayed at Ambleside whilst we prepared his room in our house. When I visited I was impressed with all aspects of the home - the staff were all friendly (including a gentleman who came by after his shift had ended to check on my grandfather before going home), the facilities were spotless and the room was nicely decorated and well kept. My grandfather was able to join in some activities, and the staff helped him maintain elements of independence whilst also making him feel comfortable. He enjoyed the food. The stay had the additional benefit of improving his mental health during a time of upheaval in his life.
Thank you for your review and your wonderful compliment. The team will be really happy to hear it. Thanks again for letting us take care of your grandfather while he was on respite with us
We were immediately put at ease by the friendly, understanding managers and staff team, everyone was warm friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble.
His room and ensuite were newly decorated, bright, fresh, warm and inviting.
He settled in well and was made to feel safe and cared for by the staff team, all areas of his care were discussed and a care plan was put in place prior to his arrival.
Both his physical and medical needs were attended to, and he felt at home within days and really enjoyed getting to know the staff.
The food options were balanced and varied and he loved the extras such as afternoon cake, cheese and biscuits, fresh fruit, etc.
Thank you to everyone at Ambleside for making his stay such a pleasant experience for us all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We really appreciate your compliments, and they will be passed on to the team. It was wonderful to look after your father-in-law during his respite stay with us.
My mum has been at Ambleside since April this year and she is very happy. The difference I have seen in her just makes me feel a lot more at peace with the fact that now her behaviour has changed for the better. Her care and surroundings are excellent. I feel a lot happier in myself instead of feeling guilty! Just knowing my mum is happier and safe means everything, so thank you all for all you do. I'll be forever grateful and I know Mum is too for the care she is receiving.
Thank you very much Jane for your review and your extremely kind and thoughtful words about the staff at Ambleside. We thank you for allowing us to look after your Mum. I will pass on your comments to the staff, they will be thrilled.
I love coming to visit my granny. She is very well looked after and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
Thank you very much Bruce for the lovely comment. We pride ourselves in the care we give to our clients. The staff will be thrilled with such lovely comments.
Staff are kind, helpful and approachable. Lovely to experience how Mum has settled. Thank you to all who assist my mum in every way. Very much appreciated.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to write this review. We will pass your comments on to the staff.
Throughout Covid and afterwards, I have nothing but praise for the staff who care for my mum.
The home is well run, they keep you informed of any important developments, and they hold regular care reviews with relatives.
The staff know the residents well and they treat them with dignity and respect, which can be challenging with residents who suffer with dementia.
There always seem to be lots of activities and things to keep the residents engaged and occupied and it is always lovely to see them participating through lots of posts on social media. This is much appreciated by the relatives.
Communication is good and relatives are able to talk to their family members easily and visits are easy to arrange too. I thoroughly recommend this home.
I liked how they were all invested in the clients.
How organised they are, and how easy it was to move our Mum in.
How they introduced Mum to other clients and made her feel at ease.
Thank you for writing such a kind review, Jo. It's wonderful to hear such positive feedback. Although your mum has not been with us long, she has settled with us wonderfully.
My mum moved into the home eighteen months ago. We are very happy with the care given, the staff have lots of patience. There are lots of activities on offer, my mum tells us the food is good. When we visit we are always welcome, it’s always clean and tidy and communication with management is easy. My mum is very happy and settled.
Thank you Helen for your very kind words. I will ensure they are passed onto our staff. They always appreciate hearing positive reviews from family members and friends.
