Full Time
The Registered Care Home Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a newly open care home in Wotton under edge, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care services to residents in line with regulatory standards. The role involves managing a team of care staff, maintaining compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) or relevant regulatory body guidelines, and promoting a person-centred care approach. The manager will also play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the home, ensuring effective communication with residents and families, and promoting a positive, supportive working environment for staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage the care team, ensuring the delivery of high standards of care.
- Recruitment, training, and development of staff to create a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Provide regular supervision and performance appraisals for staff, ensuring personal and professional development.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, motivation, and team-building.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Care & Support:
- Oversee the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs and preferences.
- Monitor care practices and ensure person-centred care is at the heart of the service.
- Ensure that residents' health and well-being are supported, with timely referrals to external health professionals when necessary.
- Coordinate the delivery of day-to-day care activities and ensure continuity of care.
- Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and welcoming for residents.
- Compliance & Regulation:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care standards and legislation, including CQC regulations or local regulations.
- Lead regular audits and inspections to ensure full compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and regulatory standards.
- Address any non-compliance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Prepare for and lead regulatory inspections and respond to reports promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) is desirable but not essential
- NVQ Level 5 in health and Social Care
- Significant experience in a managerial role within a care home setting or healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations, health and safety legislation, and safeguarding protocols.
- Proven experience in managing staff, budgets, and compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Working Hours:
Full-time, with flexibility required for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
This role would be for 40 hours per week plus on-call and would be subject to the receipt of two satisfactory job references plus an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) background check . Registration withCQC following successful probation
Hours of work: 8.00 AM till 5.00 PM Monday to Friday plus on-call
