Kitchen assistant

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team in a Nursing Home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a caring environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of meals and beverages as directed by the kitchen team.
• Support the cook with washing and peeling ingredients. 
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and food preparation areas.
• Wash dishes and ensure all kitchen items are stored correctly.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food safety regulations.
• Receive, check, and store food deliveries appropriately.
• Dispose of kitchen waste safely and keep waste areas clean.
• Follow health and safety procedures and infection control policies at all times.
• Work as part of the catering team to provide a high-quality meal service for residents.

Requirements:

• Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable but not essential.
• A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety is an advantage.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining high standards.
