Kitchen Assistant

We are looking to recruit a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at our outstanding care home.

The successful candidate will support the catering team in delivering high-quality meals and refreshments to our residents, ensuring that food presentation is maintained to an excellent standard at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and beverages.
• Ensure food is presented to a high standard and meets residents' individual needs.
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
• Comply with food safety regulations and best practice guidelines.
• Support the catering team with kitchen cleaning duties and stock rotation.
• Assist in meeting residents' specific dietary requirements, nutritional needs, and preferences.

• Knowledge of food safety and infection control practices.
• Understanding of the importance of special diets and nutritional requirements for older people.
• A positive and flexible approach to work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A caring and compassionate attitude towards elderly residents.

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided, including training on dietary requirements and nutritional support for older adults.
