Current Performance Snapshot
60 beds - 70% occupancy | Zero-agency usage | Not yet inspected by CQC
The Role
You will take responsibility for the leadership and performance of Pottersway House, combining strong clinical oversight with a clear understanding of what helps a growing home succeed. Your priorities will be to increase occupancy, develop the Head of Department team and strengthen relationships with families, professionals and the wider community.
As a visible and approachable leader, you will help colleagues take ownership of their work, develop their skills and maintain consistent standards. You will establish clear expectations around care, governance and resident outcomes, ensuring that the home is ready for its first CQC inspection through the quality of its everyday practice.
You will also lead the commercial performance of the home, using occupancy, average weekly fee, budgets and operating performance to inform decisions.
Building local relationships and following through on enquiries will be central to growth, alongside delivering an experience that gives residents and families confidence in their choice.
About You
You will be a qualified nurse with care home management experience and a strong clinical background. Experience of leading nursing, residential and dementia services, sound CQC knowledge and a strong inspection track record are important. Commissioning experience, or experience of developing a relatively new home, would be particularly valuable.
You will bring evidence of growing occupancy, developing teams and improving results. You should understand average weekly fee and EBITDARM, and be able to use performance information to guide decisions while maintaining high standards of care.
Your leadership style will be empowering and inclusive. Honest, sincere and approachable, you will give colleagues a voice, help them grow and hold them accountable with clarity and fairness. We are looking for someone who brings energy, a practical can-do attitude and a sense of enjoyment to the home, together with an eye for detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Why Lead Pottersway House

Your role will be to ensure that the care, relationships and atmosphere match the quality of those surroundings.
With the first CQC inspection ahead, you will have the opportunity to shape the home’s standards and reputation as it develops. For a manager who enjoys helping people succeed and growing a service, this is a chance to make a lasting contribution.
