We gathered to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the brave souls who fought in WW2. The day marked the turning point of the war which initiated the Battle of Normandy and led to the liberation of Western Europe.
We hosted a variety of activities such as a visit from the British Legion, a singalong, D-Day themed arts and crafts. During our celebrations, people shared emotional stories of their personal experiences. Some of our residents witnessed and even played a vital role in WW2.
We gave thanks at a service led by Revd. Sarah Butcher of Shavington Methodist Church to those who gave their lives so we have the freedom to live ours.
