Glebefields care home hosted a wonderful cultural evening to celebrate Diwali, the Indian "Festival of Lights." Residents, their families, and our dedicated staff came together for a special evening with cultural pride, delicious food, and colorful decorations. All staff members dressed in traditional clothing and brought homemade dishes to share, creating a rich variety of flavors. Everyone enjoyed spicy samosas, crispy onion bhajis, and a selection of Indian sweets like barfi, milk pedas, and laddus. A special addition was the Romanian Cozonac, bringing even more cultural flavor to the evening. Head Chef Bose Jose and the hospitality team also prepared a range of traditional Indian dishes, which added to the celebration wonderful. Care Assistant Shilpa shared the story of Diwali with everyone, explaining the meaning of the festival and how it celebrates the victory of light over darkness. Activities Assistants Ashitha, Camyrn, and staff members Shilpa, Akhil, and Mercy worked hard to decorate our home with beautiful and colorful decorations.
