Very welcoming as you step inside the door. Staff are all very cheerful and happy to help. The decor is absolutely first class, also spotlessly clean. Freshly made cakes delicious served in the coffee lounge for anyone and everyone to enjoy. Fresh fruit also an assortment of drinks of your choice. The
very best care home I have ever visited.

Glebefields Care Home is an excellent place for my mother. She is very well cared for. The place is veyr clean and beautifully decorated. Most importantly the staff are very attentive and always are totally focussed on the resdients are and welfare. In fact I am quite envious, I would like to stay here.
The menus are varied and the activities offered to the residents are so well thought out. And these things makes mum's stay here a pleasure.

My husband & I visited my mother-in-law in August. The staff was very kind & very helpful. I appreciated that they made an extra effort to putt a table into the room so we could have supper with my mother-in-law.
The food was ok. I suggest a bit of improvement for the sake of the residents. I thought
there was not enough light. I think my mother-in-law needs a reading lamp. another suggestion: more thorough cleaning.

My friend has been a resident for nearly 4 years. the quality of her care has not altered, in my opinion since day one. Today was her 90th birthday and together with her daughter and one staff member, in particular, she was given the most wonderful birthday party. She was thrilled. Well done Glebefields.
I would recommend this care home 100%.

Although Dad only got to spend 7 weeks in Glebefields we experienced the full breadth of care.
From the very first time we stepped foot into the home we received the very best care. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. From the manage to the kitchen staff we were respected, treated with kindness
and compassion. Dad had a five star experience, I am sorry he never got to live longer to enjoy it. I feel like I now have a second family - The Glebefields family xx

I was very happy with the care my aunt received at Barchester Glebefields Care Home. The staff were always very friendly and helpful when we visited. Residents we provided with a wide variety of activities to enjoy and participate in. I was impressed with the inside of the building being bright and
inviting. All the rooms were immaculate and clean and tidy. It was pleasing to see items belonging to my aunt in her room, which made it more like home which held memories for her. Overall, I cannot fault the home at all.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.755)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.755) out of 10 for Barchester Glebefields Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.755 for Barchester Glebefields Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (292 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 368 Ratings = 4.755
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Glebefields Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello, my name is Fiona, and I share the role of resident ambassador with my friend and fellow resident, Joan. Having two resident ambassadors means all those living at Glebefields have a choice of who they would like to talk to.

On leaving school in East London at the age of 16, I started work in a local nursery school. Within 3 years, I’d qualified as a Nursery Nurse and spent the following 50 years within this wonderful profession.

Her love for children and their continued education shaped her life. Fiona is now an avid supporter of all the homes’ Intergenerational Activities and keeps herself young and updated on the latest trends with visits from her ten grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
