My father has recently received respite care here for two weeks.
Both the home and staff have surpassed our expectations - it has to be experienced to be believed!
Due to such a positive experience, both of my parents are now looking to become permanent residents here.
The overall care, cleanliness
and quality of life for the residents is just fantastic! Huge thanks to everyone.

Always made very welcome when we visit. The resident we visit has been in the care home for a few weeks now and has settled in very well. She always says how lovely her room is, she enjoys the food and the staff are very caring. Having lived on her own for many years, she is enjoying the company of
other residents and joining in with many of the activities and outings.

On our first visit, we were greeted with a friendly smile and a welcome cup of coffee. The staff were extremely helpful and showed us around and explained the care that would be provided. The residents were all very chatty and appeared to be enjoying themselves with various activities.
We knew that
this care home would be ideal for our neighbour and felt confident that we had made the correct choice for her.

Very well run, very good care. Made us feel confident. The nurses were very helpful, they explained everything to us. The whole place is very clean and modern. My friend was well looked after, he was only in the home for a short while before he passed away. It was reassuring that his last days were
comfortable. They also let us take the dog in to see him which was very nice.

A very caring home. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped and modern. We were never ‘in the way’ and encouraged to do whatever we thought would help. Despite only being in Glebefields for a few weeks before sadly passing away it is reassuring to know his time was as comfortable and peaceful as it could
have been.

My friend was staying with you for one week on respite, and I was visiting her. She was most complimentary about the care and the cleanliness and thought the food was exceptional (like a five-star hotel). On the day we visited, my friend had been showered and looked very happy. My husband and I were
treated very kindly and offered tea and cake and also to join in the afternoon fun if we wanted.
My impression was excellent!

My dad came to the home after being in the hospital, and he needed 24/7 care. As a family, we were unable to give him the care he needed. The staff are friendly and care for my dad very well, and keep us informed on how he is doing and any concerns they have. He enjoys the activities at the home and
the trips he’s been on. It gives us, as a family, peace of mind to know he’s getting the care he needs and that he’s in a safe environment.

The room was well laid out and facilities were good. Disturbance at night from other residents. No other people to play games with or have reasonable social interaction.
Reply from Feedback Team at Barchester Glebefields Care HomeHi Pat. Visiting my husband, who's having respite care here, I was made welcome for lunch in the beautiful dining room. The tables are very attractive, with white damask clothes and serviettes, cutlery and glassware of a high standard.
The food is tasty and well-presented, and the portions are an ideal size
for the smaller appetites of the elderly. The service was friendly, speedy and efficient.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.732)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.732) out of 10 for Barchester Glebefields Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.732 for Barchester Glebefields Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (257 Excellents x 5) + (61 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 332 Ratings = 4.732
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Glebefields Care Home is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
