Black History Month: Forth View team celebrated

Last Updated: 01 Nov 2024 @ 00:00 AM

Forth View, our care home in Methil, has really taken Black History Month to heart – featuring team members and facts in a tour of the different countries they hail from.

Ola, from Nigeria, told us about his national dress (like the kaftan, iro and buba), national dish (Jollof rice – for which he shared this tasty recipe) and some of the 371 tribes that make up its population.

Friend and colleague “T” from Zimbabwe told us about the Ndebele people, their traditional customs and some of its glorious countryside.

From Zimbabwe, we travelled to Ghana, where Liesel (pictured above) taught us about her country’s vibrant fashion and some of their tasty foods, such as Fufu.

In this last week of Black History Month, Christelle shared the lowdown on South Africa – the languages, its floral kingdom and its three capital cities.

All in all, it was a fantastic celebration, that sparked important discussions. Truly an educational month for everybody at Forth View.
