Chartwell House, part of the Boutique Care Homes family, has been named the national winner of the Dementia Friendly Community Project Award at the Dementia Care Awards 2025. This prestigious recognition celebrates projects that make a tangible difference in the lives of people living with dementia through meaningful community involvement.
The award honours Chartwell House’s annual Dementia Friendly Folk Concert, developed in partnership with Broadstairs Folk Week and led by Admissions Manager, Jude Coveney. Designed to offer a safe, inclusive, and joyful space for residents, families, and the wider community, the concert brings people together through the power of music and memory. Now entering its third year, it has become a much-loved tradition—demonstrating how care can extend beyond the home and positively shape the wider community.
The win highlights a key pillar of Boutique Care Homes’ philosophy: that truly exceptional dementia care involves not only personalised support within the home, but also meaningful outreach that connects, uplifts, and includes the community.
This ethos was reflected across the group’s wider success at this year’s awards, with three further finalist nominations:
The Burlington (Shepperton) – Outreach Award, for its monthly Dementia Friendly Cinema Club
Brampton Manor (Newmarket) – Intergenerational Activity Award, for its partnerships with local schools and nurseries
Boutique Care Homes – Dementia Friendly Business Award, recognising a group-wide commitment to inclusive, personalised care
Ameet Kotecha, Founder and Managing Director of Boutique Care Homes, said; “We are incredibly proud of all our homes and the passionate teams who bring our vision to life every day. This win for Chartwell House, alongside three other finalist places, reflects our deep belief that dementia care must reach beyond our doors. When we care for our communities, when we listen, involve and include, we create a circle of support that is truly transformative. These achievements are a testament to the impact of care that is personal, outward-looking, and grounded in connection.”
Carl Roberts, Director of Sales and Marketing, added; “Supporting our wider communities is more than a value, it’s a responsibility. Whether it’s a shared film screening, a school visit, or a community concert, these moments matter. They build empathy, reduce isolation, and strengthen the ties between our homes and the people around them. That’s the true power of care beyond the home.”
Boutique Care Homes continues to deliver exceptional residential, dementia, and short stay care across the South East of England. With homes in Shepperton, Newmarket and Broadstairs and new developments underway in Hythe, Burgess Hill, Deal, Wokingham and Maidenhead the group remains committed to redefining the experience of later life through compassionate care and genuine community engagement.
