Mum came to Brampton Manor for 3 weeks respite, the whole process of arranging this was amazing. We cannot fault the premises, staff and care at all. The food was amazing which she loved. She looked quite poorly when she first went in but when we picked her up looked so well and she said it had done
her good.

Chartwell House

from Zoe A (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 February 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I'd been looking at a number of care homes for my mum who has been living with Alzheimer's. Some of the places I visited were good, others broke my heart. After one particularly depressing viewing, I cycled over to Chartwell House to see if I might make an appointment with them. The moment the doors
swished open, I knew this was the place for us.
I found myself in a beautiful lobby that was on a par with a 5-star boutique hotel; but it wasn't just the décor and facilities, it was the 'feeling' that the place had. The receptionist, Helen, welcomed me in right away and arranged for the admissions manager, Jude, to meet with me there and then. I was given a tour, and more importantly, I was given time and understanding. I could see clearly that the ethos was all about enabling the residents to continue living, rather than just sitting around to wait out the final chapter.
The facilities, dementia care and activity programme are exactly what Mum needs. We are so grateful. Thank you.
Reply from Diane Collins, Home Manager at Chartwell HouseThank you so much for sharing your experience. We're truly touched that after such a difficult search, you felt a sense of relief, warmth, and reassurance when you arrived at Chartwell House. Knowing that you felt listened to, supported, and confident in your mum's care means everything to us. We're so grateful for your trust and are pleased that your mum has found a place where she can feel comfortable, engaged, and valued.

Mum moved into the Burlington just over 4 months ago. What a difference this has made to her overall quality of life. The standard of care is 2nd to none which has allowed mum to settle in at her own pace. We as a family are always made to feel welcome and it is great attending some of the many and
varied entertainment activities that are laid on. Staff at all levels are extremely engaging with all of the residents making for a calm and settled environment. Mum has thrived in her short time at the Burlington and I would be happy to recommend the Burlington to anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved one.
Reply from Margie Gonzaga, Home Manager at The BurlingtonThank you so much for your thoughtful and kind review. My mother moved to The Burlington in November 2025. The expert care and attention to detail during the planning stage and her first month living there have exceeded all our expectations. The admissions manager, home manager, reception staff, care plan manager and her care and activities staff are friendly,
professional and genuinely care about the residents and each other as colleagues. We are delighted with every aspect of Mum's experience and ours, as a family. First class.

Mum has been at The Burlington for 6 months now. Throughout that time the staff (all of them, whatever their role) have been caring, attentive, patient and above all welcoming, friendly and cheerful. The Burlington has an upbeat, positive feel and residents and their visitors are welcomed + made to
feel part of a big family. Any concerns, however minor, are taken seriously + solutions offered. It's a big relief to know mum is in such caring hands.

The Burlington is like no other care home I have seen. Our mum is actually thriving since she arrived at The Burlington five months ago. Visiting her now is a real pleasure. Myself and my sisters could not be happier with the love and attention she receives from every single member of staff at The Burlington.
Mum's needs are constantly assessed and re-assessed. She is encouraged to join in activities that she would never have been able to enjoy at home. The medical team are brilliant and our past worries and dashes to the chemist for her medication are thankfully a distant memory, now that she is in the hands of the team at Burlington. Mum is safe and happy and constantly being chatted to and cared for. How lucky are we to find The Burlington? I get the feeling that ALL visitors feel the same as we do.
