Residents at a care home in Worcester were delighted when some adorable, playful visitors called in. As part of a special event, residents at Care UK’s Perry Manor, on Charles Hastings Way, were visited by therapy goats.

The animals were a big hit and everyone was given the chance to meet and learn all about them, including their personalities, favourite foods and how to look after them. For many, the experience brought back happy memories of farm life and time spent with animals.

Therapy goats are known for reducing stress and creating a calming atmosphere, and this visit was no exception. It offered residents a moment of relaxation and connection, bringing smiles all around.

Resident Christine Robson, said: “They were absolutely wonderful! Adorable little things, I hope they visit again.”

Katherine Matthews, Home Manager at Perry Manor, said: “Everyone certainly had a bleat of excitement after welcoming the furry friends into the home!

“Spending time with animals has been shown to have many therapeutic benefits for older people, particularly for those living with dementia, as it helps lower anxiety and creates relaxing endorphins.”

Perry Manor is a state-of-the-art Care UK home that provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
