The Excelcare Family celebrates Pride Month

At Excelcare, we believe in celebrating love, identity, and inclusion, and this Pride Month was one to remember!

Throughout June, our care homes came alive with colour, laughter, music, and a sense of unity. People who live in care homes, team members, families, and members of the local community came together to participate in a wide range of activities that honoured and celebrated Pride in all its forms.

We kicked things off with Pride-themed arts and crafts sessions, where people created colourful decorations, painted rainbows, and proudly displayed their work around the homes. These creative sessions were not only fun but also sparked meaningful conversations about self-expression and acceptance.

Warm weather and gardens were the perfect setting for a Pride picnic, complete with music, rainbow-themed snacks, and plenty of sunshine. It was a lovely chance for people to relax outdoors, enjoy good food, and spend time together in a joyful and inclusive atmosphere.

One of the highlights of the month was welcoming drag queen models and singers into the homes. Their dazzling outfits, uplifting songs, and wonderful energy brought huge smiles to everyone’s faces. People were clapping, singing along, waving LGBTQ+ flags, and truly embracing the celebratory spirit.

Pride Month gave us the opportunity to celebrate our diverse community, learn from one another, and continue building a culture of respect and dignity. It reminded us that every person, regardless of background or identity, deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued.
